11 “所以你要愛耶和華你的 神，常常遵守他的吩咐、律例、典章和誡命。 2 今日你們要知道，我並不是與你們的兒女說話，因為他們不知道，也沒有見過耶和華你們的 神的管教、偉大有力的手和伸出來的膀臂， 3 以及他在埃及向埃及王法老和法老的全國所行的神蹟和作為； 4 他們也沒有見過他怎樣對待埃及的軍隊、馬匹和車輛；他們追趕你們的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海的水淹沒了他們，把他們滅絕，這事一直傳到今日； 5 並且耶和華在曠野怎樣待你們，直到你們來到了這個地方； 6 也沒有見過他怎樣對待流本的子孫以利押的兒子大坍、亞比蘭；大地怎樣在全體以色列人中間裂開了，把他們和他們的家人、帳棚，以及與他們在一起一切有生命之物都吞下去； 7 只有你們親眼看見了耶和華所作的一切偉大的作為。
應許與警告
8 “所以你們要遵守我今日吩咐你的一切誡命，使你們堅強起來，可以進去得著你們將要過去得的那地， 9 又使你們在耶和華向你們的列祖起誓應許賜給他們和他們後裔的地上，就是流奶與蜜的地，可以長久居住。 10 因為你要進去得的那地，並不像你出來的埃及地；在那裡你撒了種，還要用腳灌溉，像菜園一樣。 11 但你們要過去得為業的地，卻是一個有山有谷的地，有天上雨水滋潤的地， 12 就是耶和華你的 神眷顧的地；從歲首到年終，耶和華你的 神的眼目常常眷顧這地。
13 “如果你們留心聽我今日吩咐你們的誡命，愛耶和華你們的 神，一心一意事奉他， 14 他（按照《馬索拉文本》，“他”作“我”；現參照其他抄本及古譯本翻譯；15節同）必按時降雨在你們的地上，就是降秋雨和春雨，使你們可以豐收五穀、新酒和新油。 15 他也必使田野為你的牲畜長出青草來，你也可以吃得飽足。 16 你們要謹慎，免得你們的心受迷惑，你們就偏離了我，去事奉別的神，並且敬拜它們； 17 叫耶和華的怒氣向你發作，就把天封閉，不降下雨水，地也不生出土產，使你們從耶和華賜給你們的美地上，快快地滅亡。
要謹記耶和華的話
18 “所以你們要把我這些話放在心裡，存在意念中；要繫在手上作記號，戴在額上作頭帶。 19 你們也要把這些話教訓你們的兒女，無論你是坐在家裡，行在路上，躺下，或是起來，都要講論。 20 你要把這些話寫在你房屋的門柱上和城門上， 21 為要叫你們和你們的子孫的日子，在耶和華向你們列祖起誓應許給他們的地上，可以增多，像天覆地的年日那樣多。 22 如果你們殷勤謹守遵行我吩咐你們的這一切誡命，愛耶和華你們的 神，行他的一切道路，又緊緊地依靠他， 23 耶和華就必從你們面前把這些國民都趕出去，你們就必佔領比你們大比你們強的國民的地。 24 你們腳掌所踏的地，都必屬於你們；從曠野到黎巴嫩，從幼發拉底河直到西海，都要作你們的境界。 25 必沒有一人能在你們面前站立得住；耶和華你們的 神，必照著他對你們所說的，使害怕和驚懼你們的心臨到你們將要踏足之地的居民。
26 “看哪，我今日把祝福和咒詛都擺在你們面前。 27 如果你們聽從耶和華你們的 神的誡命，就是我今日吩咐你們的，你們就必蒙賜福； 28 如果你們不聽從耶和華你們的 神的誡命，偏離了我今日吩咐你們要走的道路，去隨從你們素來不認識的別神，你們就必受咒詛。 29 耶和華你的 神領你進入你要佔領為業之地以後，你就要把祝福擺在基利心山上，把咒詛擺在以巴路山上。 30 這兩座山不是在約旦河西、日落的地方，在住亞拉巴的迦南人之地，與吉甲相對，靠近摩利橡樹那裡嗎？ 31 現在你們快要過約旦河，進去得耶和華你們的 神要賜給你們為業之地；你們取得了那地，就住在那裡。 32 你們要謹守遵行我今日在你們的面前頒布的一切律例和典章。”

11 “你们要爱你们的上帝耶和华，时刻遵守祂的吩咐、律例、典章和诫命。 2 要记住，我现在是对你们，而不是对你们的孩子说话。他们没有亲身经历、亲眼见过你们上帝耶和华的管教、威严、大能的手和伸出的臂膀； 3 祂怎样在埃及行神迹奇事对付法老及其国家； 4 怎样使红海淹没追赶你们的埃及军队和车马，将他们永远毁灭； 5 怎样在旷野一路看顾你们，一直来到这里； 6 怎样对付吕便人以利押的儿子大坍和亚比兰，使大地在以色列人当中裂开，吞没了他们及其家人、帐篷和所有随从。 7 你们亲眼目睹了耶和华的这些伟大作为。
8 “因此，你们要遵守我今天吩咐你们的诫命，以便有力量过河攻取你们将要攻取的土地， 9 长久居住在耶和华起誓赐给你们祖先及其后裔的奶蜜之乡。 10 那片土地不像你们离开的埃及。在埃及你们撒种后，要像浇菜园一样辛勤灌溉[a]。 11 而你们将要占领的那片土地却有山有谷，雨水充足， 12 你们的上帝耶和华从岁首到年终时时看顾那里。
13 “如果你们谨遵我今天吩咐你们的诫命，全心全意地爱你们的上帝耶和华，事奉祂， 14 祂就会按时降下秋雨和春雨，使你们收获谷物、新酒和油， 15 有草场饲养牲畜，丰衣足食。 16 你们要谨慎，免得被迷惑，转而祭拜、供奉其他神明。 17 否则，耶和华必向你们发怒，使天不下雨、地无出产，以致你们在祂赐给你们的佳美之地上迅速灭亡。
18 “所以，你们要把我的这些吩咐铭记在心，系在手上，戴在额上作记号； 19 要用这些话教导你们的儿女，无论在家在外、或起或卧，都要讲论； 20 也要写在城门上和自家的门框上。 21 这样，你们及子孙就可以生活在耶和华起誓赐给你们祖先的土地上，与天地同长。 22 如果你们谨遵我吩咐你们的这一切诫命——爱你们的上帝耶和华，遵行祂的旨意，依靠祂， 23 耶和华就会为你们赶走那些比你们强大的民族，你们也必占领他们的土地。 24 你们脚掌踏过的地方都要归你们。你们的疆界南到旷野，北到黎巴嫩，东到幼发拉底河，西到地中海。 25 所到之处无人能抵挡你们，因为你们的上帝耶和华会使那些地方的人对你们充满惧怕，正如祂对你们的应许。

11 Therefore you shall love Yahweh your God, and keep his instructions, his statutes, his ordinances, and his commandments, always. 2 Know this day—for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Yahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm, 3 his signs, and his works, which he did in the middle of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land; 4 and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued you, and how Yahweh has destroyed them to this day; 5 and what he did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place; 6 and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben—how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households, their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the middle of all Israel; 7 but your eyes have seen all of Yahweh’s great work which he did.
8 Therefore you shall keep the entire commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land that you go over to possess; 9 and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 For the land, where you go in to possess isn’t like the land of Egypt that you came out of, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs; 11 but the land that you go over to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of the sky, 12 a land which Yahweh your God cares for. Yahweh your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year. 13 It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you today, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 that I will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. 15 I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full. 16 Be careful, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn away to serve other gods and worship them; 17 and Yahweh’s anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky so that there is no rain, and the land doesn’t yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Yahweh gives you. 18 Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20 You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates; 21 that your days and your children’s days may be multiplied in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. 22 For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you—to do them, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cling to him— 23 then Yahweh will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves. 24 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the western sea shall be your border. 25 No man will be able to stand before you. Yahweh your God will lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you tread on, as he has spoken to you. 26 Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn away out of the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. 29 It shall happen, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land that you go to possess, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal. 30 Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh? 31 For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell in it. 32 You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you today.
