¹²「『要遵照你的上帝耶和華的吩咐守安息日為聖日。 ¹³你一週可工作六天， ¹⁴但第七天是你的上帝耶和華的安息日，你和兒女、僕婢、牛驢等牲畜以及你那裡的外族人在這一天不可做任何工，好讓僕婢和你一樣得到休息。

¹²“Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy,^(A) as the Lord your God has commanded you. ¹³Six days you shall labor and do all your work, ¹⁴but the seventh day^(B) is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant,^(C) nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do.^(D)

¹²‘Observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy (set apart, dedicated to God), as the Lord your God commanded you. ¹³Six days you shall labor and do all your work, ¹⁴but the seventh day is a Sabbath [a day of rest dedicated] to the Lord your God; on that day you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock or the stranger who stays inside your [city] gates, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
