The Great Day of the Lord
4 “See, the day is coming. It is burning like a hot fire. And all those who are proud and those who do wrong will be like dry grass. The day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord of All. “Not a root or branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of what is right and good will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and dance like calves from the cattle-house. 3 You will crush the sinful under foot. They will be ashes under your feet on the day when I do these things,” says the Lord of All.
4 “Remember the Law of My servant Moses. Remember all the Laws I gave him in Horeb for all Israel. 5 See, I will send you Elijah the man of God before the day of the Lord comes, that great day that will be full of much trouble. 6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Or else I will come and destroy the land with a curse.”

4 [a]“Surely the day is coming;(A) it will burn like a furnace.(B) All the arrogant(C) and every evildoer will be stubble,(D) and the day that is coming will set them on fire,(E)” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch(F) will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name,(G) the sun of righteousness(H) will rise with healing(I) in its rays. And you will go out and frolic(J) like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample(K) on the wicked; they will be ashes(L) under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
4 “Remember the law(M) of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb(N) for all Israel.(O)
5 “See, I will send the prophet Elijah(P) to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes.(Q) 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children,(R) and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike(S) the land with total destruction.”(T)

4 «¡Ya viene el día, candente como un horno! En ese día, todos los soberbios y todos los malhechores serán como estopa, y serán consumidos hasta las raíces. ¡No quedará de ellos ni una rama! Lo digo yo, el Señor de los ejércitos.
2 »Pero para ustedes, los que temen mi nombre, brillará un sol de justicia que les traerá salvación. Entonces ustedes saltarán de alegría, como los becerros cuando se apartan de la manada. 3 El día que yo actúe, ustedes aplastarán a los malvados hasta convertirlos en ceniza debajo de sus pies. Lo digo yo, el Señor de los ejércitos.
4 «Acuérdense de la ley de mi siervo Moisés, a quien en Horeb le di ordenanzas y leyes para todo Israel.
5 »Tomen en cuenta que, antes de que llegue el día grande y terrible del Señor, yo les enviaré al profeta Elías.(A) 6 Y él hará que el corazón de los padres se vuelva hacia los hijos, y que el corazón de los hijos se vuelva hacia los padres, para que yo no venga a destruir la tierra por completo.»
