5 你們要親眼看見，也要親自說：“耶和華在以色列的境地以外，必被尊為大。”

6 萬軍之耶和華對你們說：“藐視我名的祭司啊！兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏主人。我若是父親，我該受的尊敬在哪裡呢？我若是主人，我應得的敬畏在哪裡呢？”你們卻說：“我們怎樣藐視了你的名呢？” 7 “你們把污穢的食物獻在我的壇上，你們竟說：‘我們怎樣污穢了你的壇呢？’因你們以為耶和華的桌子是可以藐視的。”

5 You will see it with your own eyes and say, ‘Great(A) is the Lord—even beyond the borders of Israel!’(B)

6 “A son honors his father,(C) and a slave his master.(D) If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect(E) due me?” says the Lord Almighty.(F)
“It is you priests who show contempt for my name.
“But you ask,(G) ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?’
7 “By offering defiled food(H) on my altar.
“But you ask,(I) ‘How have we defiled you?’
“By saying that the Lord’s table(J) is contemptible.

And you shall say,
(A)‘The Lord is magnified beyond the border of Israel.’

6 “A son (B)honors his father,
And a servant his master.
(C)If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor?
And if I am a Master,
Where is My reverence?
Says the Lord of hosts
To you priests who despise My name.
(D)Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’
7 “You offer (E)defiled food on My altar,
But say,
‘In what way have we defiled You?’
By saying,
(F)‘The table of the Lord is [a]contemptible.’
