燃燈之例
8 耶和華曉諭摩西說： 2 「你告訴亞倫說：點燈的時候，七盞燈都要向燈臺前面發光。」 3 亞倫便這樣行。他點燈臺上的燈，使燈向前發光，是照耶和華所吩咐摩西的。 4 這燈臺的做法是用金子錘出來的，連座帶花都是錘出來的。摩西製造燈臺，是照耶和華所指示的樣式。
潔利未人之例
5 耶和華曉諭摩西說： 6 「你從以色列人中選出利未人來，潔淨他們。 7 潔淨他們當這樣行：用除罪水彈在他們身上，又叫他們用剃頭刀刮全身，洗衣服，潔淨自己。 8 然後叫他們取一隻公牛犢，並同獻的素祭，就是調油的細麵。你要另取一隻公牛犢做贖罪祭。 9 將利未人奉到會幕前，招聚以色列全會眾。 10 將利未人奉到耶和華面前，以色列人要按手在他們頭上。 11 亞倫也將他們奉到耶和華面前，為以色列人當做搖祭，使他們好辦耶和華的事。 12 利未人要按手在那兩隻牛的頭上，你要將一隻做贖罪祭，一隻做燔祭，獻給耶和華，為利未人贖罪。 13 你也要使利未人站在亞倫和他兒子面前，將他們當做搖祭奉給耶和華。 14 這樣，你從以色列人中將利未人分別出來，利未人便要歸我。 15 此後利未人要進去辦會幕的事，你要潔淨他們，將他們當做搖祭奉上。 16 因為他們是從以色列人中全然給我的，我揀選他們歸我，是代替以色列人中一切頭生的。 17 以色列人中一切頭生的，連人帶牲畜，都是我的，我在埃及地擊殺一切頭生的那天，將他們分別為聖歸我。 18 我揀選利未人代替以色列人中一切頭生的。 19 我從以色列人中將利未人當做賞賜給亞倫和他的兒子，在會幕中辦以色列人的事，又為以色列人贖罪，免得他們挨近聖所，有災殃臨到他們中間。」 20 摩西、亞倫並以色列全會眾便向利未人如此行。凡耶和華指著利未人所吩咐摩西的，以色列人就向他們這樣行。 21 於是利未人潔淨自己，除了罪，洗了衣服。亞倫將他們當做搖祭奉到耶和華面前，又為他們贖罪，潔淨他們。 22 然後利未人進去，在亞倫和他兒子面前，在會幕中辦事。耶和華指著利未人怎樣吩咐摩西，以色列人就怎樣向他們行了。

8 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the Lord commanded Moses.
4 And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the Lord had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.
5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord.
12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the Lord, to make an atonement for the Levites.
13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the Lord.
14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
20 And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
21 And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the Lord; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

8 El Señor se dirigió a Moisés y le dijo:
2 — Habla a Aarón y dile: Cuando enciendas las lámparas del candelabro, haz que sus siete lámparas alumbren hacia la parte delantera del mismo.
3 Aarón lo hizo así: encendió las lámparas hacia la parte delantera del candelabro, como el Señor había mandado a Moisés. 4 El candelabro estaba hecho de oro labrado a martillo; desde la peana hasta las flores que lo adornaban, todo se labró a martillo. Se hizo conforme al modelo que el Señor había mostrado a Moisés en una visión.
5 El Señor se dirigió a Moisés y le dijo:
6 — Separa a los levitas de en medio de los israelitas y haz que se purifiquen. 7 El ritual de purificación será como sigue: rocía sobre ellos el agua de la purificación, haz que se afeiten todo el cuerpo y que laven sus vestidos, quedando así purificados. 8 Que tomen un novillo con la correspondiente ofrenda de cereal —flor de harina amasada con aceite—; por tu parte, tomarás otro novillo como ofrenda de purificación. 9 Harás que los levitas vengan ante la Tienda del encuentro, reunirás a toda la comunidad israelita 10 y, una vez que todos los levitas estén en presencia del Señor, haz que los israelitas pongan sus manos sobre ellos. 11 Entonces Aarón presentará los levitas al Señor mediante el rito de la elevación para que, como ofrenda de los israelitas, se dediquen al servicio del Señor. 12 Los levitas pondrán entonces sus manos sobre la cabeza de los novillos, de los cuales uno será ofrecido como ofrenda de purificación, y el otro como holocausto en honor del Señor, para hacer expiación por los levitas.
13 Pondrás a los levitas bajo la vigilancia de Aarón y de sus hijos, y los presentarás en ofrenda al Señor mediante el rito de la elevación. 14 Separarás así a los levitas del resto de Israel y serán míos. 15 Así pues, una vez que los levitas hayan sido purificados y presentados como ofrenda al Señor mediante el rito de la elevación, quedarán cualificados para oficiar en la Tienda del encuentro. 16 Porque ellos me han sido dados, verdaderamente dados separándolos de entre los israelitas; los he reservado para mí en sustitución de todo primer nacido, en lugar de todo primogénito israelita. 17 Porque mío es todo primogénito israelita, así de personas como de animales; yo los consagré para mí desde el día que herí a los primogénitos egipcios. 18 Ahora, pues, me reservo a los levitas en sustitución de todos los primogénitos de Israel; 19 asigno formalmente los levitas a Aarón y a sus descendientes para que oficien en la Tienda del encuentro de parte de los israelitas y para que hagan expiación por ellos. De este modo no tendrán los israelitas que entrar en el santuario y ningún castigo se abatirá sobre ellos.
20 Moisés, Aarón y toda la comunidad israelita cumplieron puntualmente todo lo que mandó el Señor a Moisés acerca de los levitas. 21 Los levitas se purificaron y lavaron sus vestidos; por su parte Aarón los presentó en ofrenda al Señor mediante el rito de la elevación, haciendo expiación por ellos para dejarlos así purificados. 22 Después de lo cual los levitas quedaron cualificados para ejercer su ministerio en la Tienda del encuentro bajo la vigilancia de Aarón y sus hijos. Se hizo, pues, con los levitas lo que, al respecto, el Señor había mandado a Moisés.
Límites de edad para el ministerio de los levitas
23 El Señor se dirigió a Moisés y le dijo:
24 — Esta es la reglamentación para los levitas: los mayores de veinticinco años podrán ejercer su ministerio al servicio de la Tienda del encuentro; 25 pero a partir de los cincuenta años cesarán de ejercer su ministerio y nunca más lo ejercerán. 26 Podrán, sí, asistir a sus hermanos levitas en la Tienda del encuentro para montar guardia, pero no realizarán ningún otro servicio. Estas serán las normas que tendrás en cuenta en relación con el ministerio de los levitas.
