哥轄子孫的職責
4 耶和華對摩西和亞倫說： 2 「你要按宗族和家系統計利未人中哥轄子孫的人數， 3 登記三十歲到五十歲、可在會幕司職的男子。 4 他們在會幕裡管理至聖之物。
5 「拔營出發的時候，亞倫父子們要進會幕解下聖所和至聖所之間的幔子，用它遮蓋約櫃， 6 再在上面依次蓋上海狗皮和純藍色的布，然後穿上抬約櫃的橫杠。
7 「要在擺放供餅的桌子上鋪一塊藍布，把盤、碟、杯和獻酒用的瓶子擺在上面。桌上要有供餅。 8 這些東西上面要蓋朱紅色的布，再蓋上海狗皮，然後穿上抬桌子的橫杠。
9 「要用藍布把燈臺、燈盞、蠟剪、蠟盤和盛油的器皿全遮蓋起來， 10 再在上面蓋上海狗皮，然後放在抬架上。
11 「金香壇上面要蓋藍色布，再蓋上海狗皮，穿上抬金香壇的橫杠。
12 「聖所裡面一切器皿都要用藍色布包好，蓋上海狗皮，放在抬架上。
13 「要清除祭壇上的灰燼，鋪上紫色布， 14 然後把火鼎、肉叉、鏟、碗等祭壇的器具放在上面，再蓋上海狗皮，穿上抬祭壇的橫杠。
15 「拔營出發時，哥轄的子孫要等到亞倫父子們把聖所和聖所的器具都蓋好後，才可以來抬。他們負責抬這些會幕的器具，但不可觸摸這些聖物，免得死亡。 16 亞倫祭司的兒子以利亞撒負責管理整個聖幕及裡面的燈油、香料、素祭、膏油等一切物品。」
17 耶和華對摩西和亞倫說： 18 「不要讓哥轄宗族在利未人中滅絕。 19 他們走近至聖之物以前，亞倫父子們要先進去指派他們做什麼、抬什麼，以免他們死亡。 20 他們不可進去看聖物，一刻都不可，免得死亡。」
革順子孫的職責
21 耶和華對摩西說： 22 「你要按宗族和家系統計革順子孫的人數， 23 登記三十歲到五十歲、可在會幕司職的男子。 24 以下是他們負責的事務。
25 「他們要抬聖幕的幔子、會幕、會幕頂蓋、頂蓋上的海狗皮、會幕門簾、 26 圍繞聖幕和祭壇的院子的帷幔、院門門簾、繩索等器具，還負責其他相關事務。 27 你們要把任務分配給革順的子孫，他們要遵照亞倫父子們的吩咐司職。 28 這是革順宗族的人在會幕裡的職責，他們要按祭司亞倫的兒子以他瑪的吩咐司職。

Kehatovci i njihove dužnosti
4 BOG je rekao Mojsiju i Aronu: 2 »Izvršite popis Kehatovih potomaka iz Levijevog plemena prema njihovim rodovima i obiteljima. 3 Prebrojite sve muškarce u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina koji mogu služiti u Šatoru sastanka. 4 Služba je Kehatovaca u Šatoru sastanka brinuti se o najsvetijim predmetima.
5 Kad se tabor bude spremao za pokret, Aron i njegovi sinovi ući će u Šator, skinuti zaštitnu zavjesu i njome prekriti Kovčeg saveza. 6 Zatim će to prekriti prekrivačem od finih koža, prostrijeti preko plavu tkaninu i namjestiti šipke za nošenje.
7 Preko stola za svete kruhove prostrijet će plavu tkaninu i na stol staviti tanjure, žlice, pehare i posude za prinose pića. Sveti kruhovi neka također ostanu na stolu. 8 Potom će preko prostrijeti crvenu tkaninu, sve prekriti prekrivačem od glatkih koža i namjestiti šipke za nošenje stola.
9 Uzet će plavu tkaninu i njome pokriti svijećnjak i svjetiljke, škare za fitilj i podloške, i sve posude za opskrbljivanje uljem. 10 Zatim će umotati svijećnjak i sav pribor u prekrivač od glatkih koža i položiti ga na nosila.
11 Preko zlatnog žrtvenika prostrijet će plavu tkaninu pa ga prekriti glatkim kožama i namjestiti šipke za nošenje.
12 Uzet će sve predmete, koji se koriste pri služenju u Svetištu, umotati ih u plavu tkaninu, prekriti glatkim kožama i položiti na nosila.
13 Iz brončanog žrtvenika uklonit će pepeo i preko žrtvenika prostrijeti ljubičastu tkaninu. 14 Zatim će na njega položiti sav pribor koji se koristi za službu kod žrtvenika, uključujući žeravnike, vilice za meso, lopatice i posude. Preko njega će prostrijeti prekrivač od glatkih koža i namjestiti šipke za nošenje.
15 Prije negoli tabor bude spreman za pokret, Aron i njegovi sinovi moraju završiti s pokrivanjem svih dijelova Svetišta i svih svetih predmeta. Tek tada smiju doći Kehatovci koji će nositi stvari pomoću šipki jer ne smiju doticati svete predmete da ne poginu. To su predmeti Šatora sastanka koje Kehatovci trebaju nositi.
16 Eleazar, sin svećenika Arona, vodit će brigu o ulju za svjetiljke, mirisnom kâdu, svakodnevnim žitnim prinosima[a] i ulju za pomazanje. Nadgledat će čitav Sveti šator i sve što je u njemu, čitavo Svetište i sav pribor.«
17 BOG je rekao Mojsiju i Aronu: 18 »Pazite da rodovi Kehatovaca ne budu istrijebljeni iz Levijevog plemena. 19 Ovako postupajte s njima, da ostanu na životu, da ne poginu kad se približe najsvetijim predmetima: neka Aron i njegovi sinovi uđu u Svetište i svakom Kehatovcu odrede što će raditi i što će nositi. 20 Kehatovci ni na tren ne smiju ući i pogledati svete predmete jer će poginuti.«
Geršonovci i njihove dužnosti
21 BOG je rekao Mojsiju: 22 »Izvrši i popis Geršonovih potomaka prema njihovim obiteljima i rodovima. 23 Prebroji sve muškarce u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina koji mogu raditi i služiti oko Šatora sastanka.
24 Rodovi Geršonovaca imaju dužnost spremati i prenositi sljedeće stvari: 25 spremat će i prenositi zavjese Svetog šatora, Šator sastanka, prekrivač od tkanine, gornji prekrivač od glatkih koža, zavjese s ulaza u Šator sastanka, 26 zavjese dvorišta oko Svetog šatora i žrtvenika, zavjesu s ulaza u dvorište, konopce i svu opremu koja se koristi uz zavjese. Geršonovci će se pobrinuti za sve što treba oko tih predmeta. 27 Sva njihova služba, bilo prenošenje ili neki drugi posao, neka se obavlja prema zapovijedi Arona i njegovih sinova. Odredit ćete im što trebaju nositi. 28 To je služba Geršonovih rodova oko Šatora sastanka. Obavljat će svoje dužnosti pod vodstvom Itamara, sina svećenika Arona.«
Merarijevci i njihove dužnosti
29 »Prebroji Merarijeve potomke prema njihovim rodovima i obiteljima. 30 Prebroji sve muškarce u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina koji mogu služiti oko Šatora sastanka.
31 Njihova je dužnost oko Šatora sastanka prenositi sljedeće: okvire Svetog šatora, poprečne šipke, stupove i postolja, 32 kao i stupove dvorišta s postoljima, šatorske kolčiće, konopce, svu opremu i sve što se koristi uz njih. Prema nazivu predmeta odredi im točno što trebaju nositi. 33 Služba je to Merarijevih rodova, sav njihov posao oko Šatora sastanka, pod vodstvom Itamara, sina svećenika Arona.«
Popis Levita
34 Mojsije, Aron i glavari zajednice prebrojali su Kehatovce prema njihovim rodovima i obiteljima. 35 Svih muškaraca u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina, sposobnih za službu oko Šatora sastanka, 36 prebrojanih prema rodovima, bilo je 2.750. 37 Bio je to popis Kehatovih rodova koji su služili pri Šatoru sastanka. Mojsije i Aron su ih prebrojali po zapovijedi koju je BOG dao preko Mojsija.
38 Prebrojani su i Geršonovci prema svojim obiteljima i rodovima. 39 Svih muškaraca u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina, sposobnih za fizički rad oko Šatora sastanka, 40 prebrojanih prema rodovima i obiteljima, bilo je 2.630. 41 Bio je to popis Geršonovih rodova koji su služili pri Šatoru sastanka. Mojsije i Aron su ih prebrojali po BOŽJOJ zapovijedi.
42 Prebrojani su i Merarijevci prema svojim rodovima i obiteljima. 43 Svih muškaraca u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina, sposobnih za fizički rad oko Šatora sastanka, 44 prebrojanih prema rodovima, bilo je 3.200. 45 Bio je to popis Merarijevih rodova. Mojsije i Aron prebrojali su ih po zapovijedi koju je BOG dao preko Mojsija.
46 Tako su Mojsije, Aron i glavari Izraela prebrojali sve Levite prema njihovim rodovima i obiteljima. 47 Ukupan je broj svih muškaraca u dobi od trideset do pedeset godina, sposobnih za opsluživanje i prenošenje Šatora sastanka, 48 iznosio 8.580. 49 Prema zapovijedi, koju je BOG dao preko Mojsija, svakom je određeno što će raditi i što će prenositi. Tako su popisani, kao što je BOG zapovjedio Mojsiju.

Duties of the Sons of Kohath
4 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 2 “Take a census of the sons of (A)Kohath from among the children of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ house, 3 (B)from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting.
4 (C)“This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of meeting, relating to (D)the most holy things: 5 When the camp prepares to journey, Aaron and his sons shall come, and they shall take down (E)the covering veil and cover the (F)ark of the Testimony with it. 6 Then they shall put on it a covering of badger skins, and spread over that a cloth entirely of (G)blue; and they shall insert (H)its poles.
7 “On the (I)table of showbread they shall spread a blue cloth, and put on it the dishes, the pans, the bowls, and the [a]pitchers for pouring; and the (J)showbread[b] shall be on it. 8 They shall spread over them a scarlet cloth, and cover the same with a covering of badger skins; and they shall insert its poles. 9 And they shall take a blue cloth and cover the (K)lampstand of the light, (L)with its lamps, its wick-trimmers, its trays, and all its oil vessels, with which they service it. 10 Then they shall put it with all its utensils in a covering of badger skins, and put it on a carrying beam.
11 “Over (M)the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of badger skins; and they shall insert its poles. 12 Then they shall take all the (N)utensils of service with which they minister in the sanctuary, put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of badger skins, and put them on a carrying beam. 13 Also they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth over it. 14 They shall put on it all its implements with which they minister there—the firepans, the forks, the shovels, the [c]basins, and all the utensils of the altar—and they shall spread on it a covering of badger skins, and insert its poles. 15 And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then (O)the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; (P)but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
“(Q)These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.
16 “The appointed duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is (R)the oil for the light, the (S)sweet incense, (T)the daily grain offering, the (U)anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle, of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings.”
17 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 18 “Do not cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites; 19 but do this in regard to them, that they may live and not die when they approach (V)the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and [d]appoint each of them to his service and his task. 20 (W)But they shall not go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, lest they die.”
Duties of the Sons of Gershon
21 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 22 “Also take a census of the sons of (X)Gershon, by their fathers’ house, by their families. 23 (Y)From thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, you shall number them, all who enter to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting. 24 This is the (Z)service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and carrying: 25 (AA)They shall carry the (AB)curtains of the tabernacle and the tabernacle of meeting with its covering, the covering of (AC)badger skins that is on it, the screen for the door of the tabernacle of meeting, 26 the screen for the door of the gate of the court, the hangings of the court which are around the tabernacle and altar, and their cords, all the furnishings for their service and all that is made for these things: so shall they serve.
27 “Aaron and his sons shall [e]assign all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, all their tasks and all their service. And you shall [f]appoint to them all their tasks as their duty. 28 This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting. And their duties shall be (AD)under the [g]authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
Duties of the Sons of Merari
29 “As for the sons of (AE)Merari, you shall number them by their families and by their fathers’ house. 30 (AF)From thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, you shall number them, everyone who enters the service to do the work of the tabernacle of meeting. 31 And (AG)this is (AH)what they must carry as all their service for the tabernacle of meeting: (AI)the boards of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, 32 and the pillars around the court with their sockets, pegs, and cords, with all their furnishings and all their service; and you shall (AJ)assign to each man by name the items he must carry. 33 This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, as all their service for the tabernacle of meeting, under the [h]authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
Census of the Levites
34 (AK)And Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites by their families and by their fathers’ house, 35 from thirty (AL)years old and above, even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tabernacle of meeting; 36 and those who were numbered by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty. 37 These were the ones who were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all who might serve in the tabernacle of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
38 And those who were numbered of the sons of Gershon, by their families and by their fathers’ house, 39 from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tabernacle of meeting— 40 those who were numbered by their families, by their fathers’ house, were two thousand six hundred and thirty. 41 (AM)These are the ones who were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all who might serve in the tabernacle of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the Lord.
42 Those of the families of the sons of Merari who were numbered, by their families, by their fathers’ [i]house, 43 from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tabernacle of meeting— 44 those who were numbered by their families were three thousand two hundred. 45 These are the ones who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered (AN)according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
46 All who were (AO)numbered of the Levites, whom Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of Israel numbered, by their families and by their fathers’ houses, 47 (AP)from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, everyone who came to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the tabernacle of meeting— 48 those who were numbered were eight thousand five hundred and eighty.
49 According to the commandment of the Lord they were numbered by the hand of Moses, (AQ)each according to his service and according to his task; thus were they numbered by him, (AR)as the Lord commanded Moses.
