ユダの王マナセ
33 マナセが王となったのは十二歳の時で、五十五年間エルサレムで治めました。 2 ただし、それは主の目に悪とされることでした。イスラエルの民がこの地に入った時、主が滅ぼした異教の国々の偶像を求め、それを民に拝ませるようにしむけたのです。 3 彼は、父ヒゼキヤ王が取り壊した異教の神バアルの祭壇を築き直し、恥ずべき偶像を造り、日や月や星を拝みました。 4-5 事もあろうに、主を礼拝するはずの神殿の庭にまで異教の祭壇を築き、日や月や星を礼拝したのです。 6 また、彼らはベン・ヒノムの谷で、わが子をいけにえとしてささげました。さらに、霊媒師や占い師、魔術師などに伺いを立て、ありとあらゆる悪を行って、主の激しい怒りを引き起こしました。 7 よりによって、神の神殿に偶像を置いたのですから。神はかつて、神殿について、ダビデとその子ソロモンに語りました。「わたしはこの神殿と、イスラエル全土からわたしが選んだエルサレムでほめたたえられる。 8 もしあなたがたが、わたしがモーセによって与えたすべての律法と定めに従うなら、あなたがたの先祖に与えたこの地から二度と追い出すようなことはしない。」
9 しかし、マナセはユダとエルサレムの人々をそそのかして、イスラエルの民がこの地に入った時に主が滅ぼした民よりももっと悪いことを行わせたのです。 10 王も民も、主の警告をまったく聞こうとしませんでした。 11 そこで神はアッシリヤ軍を出動させ、ユダに攻め込ませました。アッシリヤ軍はマナセを鉤で引っかけて捕らえ、青銅の足かせにつないで車に乗せ、バビロンへ引いて行きました。 12 その時になって王はようやく本心に立ち返り、へりくだって神に助けを求めました。 13 神はその願いを聞き入れ、彼の求めに答えて、マナセをエルサレムの自分の王国に戻しました。こうしてマナセは、主こそ神であることを知ったのです。
14 こののち、マナセ王はダビデの町の西の外側に城壁を築き直しました。その城壁は、キデロンの谷にあるギホンの泉の西側から魚の門にまで達し、ひときわ高く築き上げられた「とりでの丘」を取り巻いていました。また、ユダで城壁のある町にはすべて軍の司令官を配置しました。 15 さらに、外国の神々と偶像を神殿から取り除き、神殿が建っている山の上と、エルサレムに築いたすべての祭壇を取り壊し、町の外へ投げ捨てました。 16 それから、主の祭壇を築き直し、そのうえで和解のいけにえと感謝のいけにえをささげ、ユダの民に、イスラエルの神、主だけを礼拝するよう命じました。 17 それでもなお、民は高台の祭壇にいけにえをささげましたが、それは主に供えられたものでした。
18 マナセ王のその他の業績、王が神にささげた祈り、預言者たちを通しての神の答えについては、『イスラエル諸王の年代記』に記されています。 19 王の祈りと、それが神に聞き届けられたこと、および悔い改める前に犯した罪や失敗についての報告は、預言者たちの言行録に包み隠さず記されています。その中には、王が偶像の宮を築いたり、恥ずべき像や刻んだ像を置いたりした場所が挙げてあります。

20-21 マナセ王が死んで宮殿の地下に葬られ、その子アモンが新しく王となりました。アモンは二十二歳で王となり、わずか二年間、エルサレムで治めました。 22 その治世は、父マナセ王の初期に劣らず悪いもので、父王が行っていたように、あらゆる偶像にいけにえをささげました。 23 しかも、父のようには態度を変えてへりくだることをせず、ますます大きな罪を犯しました。 24 そのため、ついに彼の家臣たちが宮殿の中で王を殺しました。 25 しかし、愛国心に燃えた民衆は、暗殺者をみな殺して、アモンの子ヨシヤを新しい王としました。

33 मनस्से जब यहूदा क नवा राजा भवा उ बारह बरिस क राहा। उ यरूसलेम मँ पचपन बरिस तलक राजा रहा। 2 मनस्से उ सबइ सब कार्य किहस जेनका यहोवा गलत कहे रहा। उ दूसर रास्ट्रन क भयंकर अउर पापपूर्ण रीतियन क अनुसरण किहस। यहोवा ओन रास्ट्रन क बाहेर निकर जाइ क बरे मजबूर किहे रहा जब उ इस्राएल क लोगन क उ भुइँया पइ लिआए रहा। 3 मनस्से फुन ओन ऊँच जगहन क बनाएस जेनका ओकर बाप हिजकिय्याह तोर गिराये रहा। मनस्से बाल देवतन बरे वेदियन बनाएस अउ असेरा खम्भन खड़े किहस। उ नछत्र-समूह क प्रणाम करत रहा अउ ओनका पूजत रहा। 4 मनस्से यहोवा क मन्दिर मँ लबार देवतन क बरे वेदियन बनाएस। यहोवा मन्दिर क बारे मँ कहे रहा, “मोर नाउँ यरूसलेम मँ सदा ही रही।” 5 मनस्से सबहिं नछत्र-समूहन क बरे यहोवा क मन्दिर क दुइनउँ अंगनन मँ वेदियन बनाएस। 6 मनस्से अपने बेटवन क भी बलि बरे हिन्नोम क घाटी मँ बारेस। मनस्से सान्तिपाठ, दैवीकरण अउ भविस्स कथन क रूप मँ जादू-टोना क उपयोग किहस। उ ओझन अउ भूतसिद्धि करइवालन क संग बातन किहस अउर उ यहोवा क दृस्टि मँ बहोत पाप किहस। मनस्से क पापन यहोवा क किरोधित किहन। 7 उ एक ठु देवता क मूरति बनाएस अउर ओका परमेस्सर क मन्दिर मँ धरेस। परमेस्सर दाऊद अउ ओकर पूत सुलैमान स मन्दिर क बारे मँ कहे रहा, “मइँ इ मन्दिर मँ अउर यरूसलेम मँ आपन नाउँ क स्थापित करब जेका मइँ इस्राएल क सबहिं परिवार समूहन क नगरन क बीच स चुनेउँ ह, अउर हुवाँ मोर नाउँ हमेसा रहब। 8 मइँ फुन इस्राएलियन क उ भुइँया स बाहेर नाहीं करब जेका मइँ ओनके पुरखन क देइ क बरे चुनेउँ। किन्तु ओनका ओन नेमन क बिधियन अउर आदेसन क पालन जरूर करइ चाही जेनका मइँ मूसा क ओनका देइ क हुकुम दिहेउँ।”
9 मनस्से यहूदा क लोगन अउर यरूसलेम मँ रहइवाले लोगन क पाप करइ बरे उ उत्साहित किहेउँ। उ ओन रास्ट्रन स भी जियादा पाप किहस जेनका यहोवा नस्ट किहे रहा अउर जउन इस्राएलियन स पहिले उ पहँटा मँ रहेन।
10 यहोवा मनस्से अउर ओकरे लोगन स बातचीत किहस। किन्तु उ पचे सुनइ स इन्कार कइ दिहन। 11 एह बरे यहोवा यहूदा पइ हमला करइ क बरे अस्सूर क राजा क सेनापतियन क हुवाँ पहोंचाएस। एन सेनापतियन मनस्से क धइ लिहन अउर ओका बन्दी बनाइ लिहन। उ पचे ओका बेड़ियन पहिराइ दिहन अउर ओकरे हाथन मँ पीतर क जंजीरन डाएन। उ पचे मनस्से क बन्दी बनाएन अउर ओका बाबुल देस लइ गएन।
12 मनस्से क कस्ट भवा। उ समइ उ यहोवा अपने परमेस्सर स याचना किहस। मनस्से खुद क अपने पुरखन क परमेस्सर क समन्वा बहोत विनम्र किहेस। 13 मनस्से परमेस्सर स पराथना किहस अउर परमेस्सर स मदद माँगेस। यहोवा मनस्से क याचना सुनेस अउ ओका ओह पइ दया आइ। यहोवा ओका यरूसलेम अपने सिंहासन पइ लउटइ क आदेस दिहस। तब मनस्से समुझेस कि यहोवा फुरइ परमेस्सर अहइ।
14 इ घटइ क पाछे, मनस्से दाऊद नगर क बरे बाहरी देवार बनाएस। इ गिहोन क पस्चिमी सोते तलक मछरी-फाटक क प्रवेस दुआर अउर ओपेल पहाड़ी क चारिहुँ कइँती तलक गएन। उ देवार क बहोत ऊँच बनाएस। तब उ अधिकारियन क यहूदा क सबहिं किलन मँ रखेस। 15 मनस्से यहोवा क मन्दिर स दूसर रास्ट्रन क देवतन अउ मूरतियन क हटाइ दिहेस। उ ओन सबहिं वेदियन क लोकाएस जेनका उ मन्दिर क पहाड़ी पइ अउ यरूसलेम मँ बनाएस। मनस्से ओन सबहिं वेदियन क यरूसलेम नगर स बाहेर लोकाएस। 16 तब उ यहोवा क वेदी पुन: एकत्र किहस अउ मेलबलि अउ धन्यवाद भेंट एह पइ चढ़ाएस। मनस्से यहूदा क सबहिं लोगन क इस्राएल क यहोवा परमेस्सर क सेवा करइ क आदेस दिहस। 17 लोग ऊँच जगहियन पइ बलि देब जारी रखेस, मुला ओनकर भेटन केवल यहोवा ओनके परमेस्सर बरे रहिन।
18 मनस्से जउन कछू दूसर किहस अउर ओकर परमेस्सर स पराथनन अउ ओन द्रस्टा लोगन क कथन जउन इस्राएल क यहोवा परमेस्सर क नाउँ पइ ओहसे बातन किहे रहा, उ सबइ सबहिं इस्राएल क राजा नाउँ क किताबे मँ लिखी अहइँ। 19 मनस्से कइसे पराथना किहस अउर परमेस्सर कइसे सुनेस अउर ओह पइ दाया किहस, इ द्रस्टा लोगन क पुस्तक मँ लिखा अहइ। मनस्से क सबहिं पाप अउ बुराइयन जउन उ खुद क बिनम्र करइ स पहिले किहस अउर उ सबइ जगह जहाँ उ ऊँच जगह बनाएस अउर असेरा-खम्भा खड़ा किहेस भी दर्सी लोगन क पुस्तक मँ दर्ज अहइँ। 20 मनस्से मरि गवा, अउर उ जगह पइ दफनावा गवा जहाँ पइ ओकर पूरखन क दफनावा गवा रहा। लोग मनस्से क ओकर महल मँ दफनाएन। मनस्से क जगह पइ ओकर पूत आमोन नवा राजा भवा।

21 आमोन जब यहूदा क राजा भवा, बाईस बरिस क रहा। उ दुइ बरिस तलक यरूसलेम मँ हुकूमत किहेस। 22 ओमोन ठीक वइसा ही किहेस जइसा ओकर बाप किहे रहा, उ उ काम किहेस जेका यहोवा बुरा समुझत ह। आमोन सबहिं खुदी मूरतियन अउ अपने बाप मनस्से क बनाई मूरतियन क बलि चढ़ाएस। आमोन ओन मूरतियन क लगे निहुरेस अउर ओनकर पूजा किहस। 23 आमोन खुद क अपने बाप मनस्से क तरह यहोवा क समन्वा विनम्र नाहीं बनाएस। आमोन जियादा स जियादा पाप करत गवा। 24 आमोन क सेवकन ओकरे बिरुद्ध जोजना बनाएन उ पचे आमोन क ओकरे घरे मँ मार डाएन। 25 मुला यहूदा क लोग ओन सबहिं सेवकन क मार डाएन जउन राजा आमोन क बिरुद्ध जोजना बनाए रहेन। तब लोग योसिय्याह क नवा राजा चुनेन। योसिय्याह आमोन क पूत रहा।

Manasseh King of Judah
33 Manasseh was 12 years old when he became king of Judah. And he was king for 55 years in Jerusalem. 2 He did what the Lord said was wrong. He did the hated things the other nations had done. And the Lord had forced these nations out of the land ahead of Israel. 3 Manasseh’s father, Hezekiah, had torn down the places where false gods were worshiped. But Manasseh rebuilt them. Manasseh also built altars for the Baal gods and made Asherah idols. He bowed down to the stars and worshiped them. 4 The Lord had said about the Temple, “I will be worshiped in Jerusalem forever.” But Manasseh built altars for false gods in the Temple of the Lord. 5 He built altars to worship the stars in the two courtyards of the Temple of the Lord. 6 He burned his sons as sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom. He practiced magic and witchcraft. He told the future by explaining signs and dreams. He got advice from mediums and fortune-tellers. He did many things the Lord said were wrong. And this made the Lord angry.
7 He carved an idol and put it in the Temple of God. God had spoken to David and his son Solomon about the Temple. He had said, “I will be worshiped in this Temple and in Jerusalem forever. I have chosen Jerusalem from all the tribes of Israel. 8 I will never again make the Israelites leave the land I gave to their ancestors. But they must obey everything I commanded them. They must obey all the teachings, rules and commands I gave them through Moses.” 9 But Manasseh led the people of Judah and Jerusalem to do wrong. They did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed ahead of the Israelites.
10 The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they did not listen. 11 So the Lord brought the king of Assyria’s army commanders to attack Judah. They captured Manasseh and put hooks in him. They put bronze chains on his hands. They made him their prisoner and took him to Babylon. 12 As Manasseh suffered, he begged the Lord his God for help. He became very sorry for what he had done before the God of his ancestors. 13 When Manasseh prayed, the Lord heard him and had pity for him. So the Lord let him return to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is the true God.
14 After that happened, Manasseh rebuilt the outer wall for Jerusalem. It was in the valley on the west side of the Gihon spring. It went to the entrance of the Fish Gate and around the hill of Ophel. He also made the wall higher. Then he put commanders in all the strong, walled cities in Judah.
15 Manasseh removed the idols of other nations. And he took the idol out of the Temple of the Lord. He removed all the altars he had built on the Temple hill and in Jerusalem. And he threw them out of the city. 16 Then he set up the Lord’s altar. And he sacrificed on it fellowship offerings and offerings to show thanks to the Lord. Manasseh commanded all the people of Judah to serve the Lord, the God of Israel. 17 The people continued to offer sacrifices at the places of worship. But their sacrifices were only to the Lord their God. 18 The other things Manasseh did as king are written down. His prayer to his God is recorded. And what the seers said to him in the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, is recorded. They are all in the book of the history of the kings of Israel. 19 Manasseh’s prayer and God’s pity for him are written down. Also all of Manasseh’s sins and how he was unfaithful to the Lord are recorded. The places he built for worshiping false gods and for the Asherah idols are recorded. He did all these things but later became sorry for them. They are all in the book of the seers. 20 Manasseh died and was buried in his palace. Then Manasseh’s son Amon became king in his place.
Amon King of Judah
21 Amon was 22 years old when he became king. And he was king for two years in Jerusalem. 22 He did what the Lord said was wrong. He did as his father Manasseh had done. Amon worshiped and offered sacrifices to all the carved idols Manasseh had made. 23 Amon was not sorry for what he did wrong before the Lord. He was not sorry as his father Manasseh had been. Instead, Amon sinned even more.
24 Amon’s officers made plans against him and killed him in his palace. 25 But the people of Judah killed all those who had made plans to kill King Amon. And they made his son Josiah to be king in his place.
