Judas ättlingar
4 (A) Judas söner var Peres, Hesron, Karmi, Hur och Shobal.
2 (B) Reaja, Shobals son, blev far till Jahat och Jahat till Ahumaj och Lahad. Dessa var sorgatiternas släkter.
3 Dessa var Abi-Etams söner: Jisreel, Jishma och Jidbash, och deras syster hette Hasselelponi, 4 (C) dessutom Penuel, Gedors far, och Eser, Hushas far. Dessa var söner till Hur, Efratas förstfödde, Betlehems far.
5 (D) Ashur, Tekoas far, hade två hustrur, Hela och Naara.
6 Naara födde åt honom Ahussam, Hefer, Timeni och ahashtariterna. Dessa var Naaras söner.
7 Helas söner var Seret, Jishar och Etnan.
8 Kos var far till Anub och Hassobeba, likaså Aharhels, Harums sons, släkter.
Jabes bön
9 Men Jabes var mer ansedd än sina bröder. Hans mor gav honom namnet Jabes, ”för jag har fött honom med smärta[a]”, sade hon. 10 Jabes ropade till Israels Gud och sade: ”O att du ville välsigna mig och utvidga mitt område och låta din hand vara med mig! O att du ville göra så att jag slipper olycka och smärta!” Och Gud lät det bli så som han bad.
Övriga släktlistor
11 Kelub, Shuhas bror, blev far till Mehir, som var far till Eshton.
12 Eshton blev far till Bet-Rafa, Pasea och Tehinna, Ir-Nahashs far. Dessa var männen från Reka.
13 (E) Kenas söner var Otniel och Seraja.
Otniels son var Hatat.
14 (F) Meonotaj blev far till Ofra och Seraja till Joab, far till hantverkardalens släkt, för de var hantverkare.
15 (G) Söner till Kaleb, Jefunnes son, var Iru, Ela och Naam, likaså Elas söner och Kenas.
16 Jehallelels söner var Sif och Sifa, Tirja och Asarel.
17 Esras son var Jeter, dessutom Mered, Efer och Jalon. Och hon[b] blev havande och födde Mirjam, Shammaj och Jishba, Eshtemoas far. 18 Hans judiska hustru födde Jered, Gedors far, och Heber, Sokos far, och Jekutiel, Sanoas far. Men de andra var söner till Bitja, faraos dotter, som Mered hade tagit till hustru.
19 Söner till Hodias hustru, Nahams syster, var Keilas far, garmiten, och maakatiten Eshtemoa.
20 Simeons söner var Amnon och Rinna, Ben-Hanan och Tilon.
Jishis söner var Sohet och Sohets son.
Shelas ättlingar
21 (H) Söner till Shela, Judas son, var Er, Lekas far, och Lada, Marehsas far, och de släkter som tillhörde linnearbetarnas hus, av Ashbeas hus, 22 dessutom Jokim och männen i Koseba samt Joash och Saraf, som blev herrar över Moab, likaså Jasubi-Lehem. Men detta hör till en avlägsen tid. 23 Dessa var krukmakarna och invånarna i Netaim och Gedera. De bodde där hos kungen och var i hans tjänst.
Simeons ättlingar
24 (I) Simeons söner var Nemuel och Jamin, Jarib, Sera och Saul.
25 Hans son var Shallum, hans son var Mibsam, hans son var Mishma.
26 Mishmas söner var hans son Hammuel, dennes son Sackur och dennes son Shimei.
27 Shimei hade sexton söner och sex döttrar. Men hans bröder hade inte många barn. I sin helhet ökade inte deras släkt lika mycket som Juda barn.
28 (J) De bodde i Beer-Sheba, Molada och Hasar-Shual, 29 Bilha, i Esem och i Tolad, 30 Betuel, Horma och Siklag, 31 i Bet-Markabot, i Hasar-Susim, i Bet-Biri och i Shaarajim. Dessa var deras städer tills David blev kung. 32 Deras byar var Etam och Ajin, Rimmon, Token och Ashan, fem städer, 33 och alla deras byar som låg runt omkring dessa städer ända till Baal. Där bodde de. De hade sitt särskilda släktregister.
34 Dessutom: Meshobab, Jamlek och Josha, Amasjas son, 35 och Joel och Jehu, son till Josibja, son till Seraja, son till Asiel, 36 och Eljoenaj, Jaakoba, Jeshohaja, Asaja, Adiel, Jesimiel och Benaja, 37 samt Sisa, son till Shifi, son till Allon, son till Jedaja, son till Shimri, son till Shemaja.
38 Dessa nu nämnda var furstar i sina släkter, och deras familjer utbredde sig och blev talrika. 39 De drog fram mot Gedor, ända till östra sidan av dalen, för att söka bete för sin boskap. 40 De fann fett och gott bete, och landet hade utrymme nog. Och där var lugnt och stilla, för de som bodde där förut var hamiter.
41 Men dessa som här är uppskrivna med namn kom i Juda kung Hiskias tid[c] och förstörde deras tält och slog de meiniter som fanns där och utrotade dem så att de inte mer finns till. Sedan bosatte de sig i deras land, för där fanns bete för deras boskap. 42 Av dem, av Simeons barn, begav sig femhundra man till Seirs bergsbygd. Och Pelatja, Nearja, Refaja och Ussiel, Jishis söner, stod i spetsen för dem. 43 De slog de sista som var kvar av amalekiterna och hade kommit undan. Sedan bosatte de sig där och bor där än i dag.

4 犹大的儿子是法勒斯、希斯仑、迦米、户珥、朔巴。 2 朔巴的儿子利亚雅生雅哈，雅哈生亚户买和拉哈。他们都属于琐拉人的宗族。 3 以坦的儿子[a]是耶斯列、伊施玛和伊得巴，女儿名叫哈悉勒玻尼。 4 基多的父亲是毗努伊勒，户沙的父亲是以谢珥。这些人都是伯利恒的父亲、以法她的长子户珥的后代。 5 提哥亚的父亲亚施户有两个妻子，一个名叫希拉，一个名叫拿拉。 6 拿拉给他生了亚户撒、希弗、提米尼和哈辖斯他利。这些都是拿拉的儿子。 7 希拉的儿子是洗列、琐辖和伊提南。 8 哥斯生亚诺和琐比巴，他也是哈伦的儿子亚哈黑宗族的祖先。 9 雅比斯比他的众弟兄尊贵，他母亲给他取名叫雅比斯，意思是：“我生他时非常痛苦”。 10 雅比斯向以色列的上帝祷告说：“愿你赐福给我，扩大我的疆土，与我同在，使我远离患难和痛苦。”上帝答应了他的祈求。

西缅的后裔
24 西缅的儿子是尼姆利、雅悯、雅立、谢拉和扫罗。 25 扫罗的儿子是沙龙，沙龙的儿子是米比衫，米比衫的儿子是米施玛， 26 米施玛的儿子是哈姆利，哈姆利的儿子是撒刻，撒刻的儿子是示每。 27 示每有十六个儿子和六个女儿，他弟兄的儿女不多。他们整个宗族的人不如犹大宗族的人多。 28 西缅人住在别示巴、摩拉大、哈萨·书亚、 29 辟拉、以森、陀腊、 30 彼土利、何珥玛、洗革拉、 31 伯·玛嘉博、哈萨·苏撒、伯·比利、沙拉音。在大卫做王以前，这些都是西缅人的城邑。 32 他们还有五座城邑：以坦、亚因、临门、陀健、亚珊， 33 以及这些城附近的村庄，远至巴力。这些都是他们的住处。他们有自己的家谱。

4 The descendants of Judah:(A)
Perez, Hezron,(B) Karmi, Hur and Shobal.
2 Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 These were the sons[a] of Etam:
Jezreel, Ishma and Idbash. Their sister was named Hazzelelponi. 4 Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah.
These were the descendants of Hur,(C) the firstborn of Ephrathah and father[b] of Bethlehem.(D)
5 Ashhur(E) the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah.
7 The sons of Helah:
Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan, 8 and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and of the clans of Aharhel son of Harum.
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez,[c] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
11 Kelub, Shuhah’s brother, was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 12 Eshton was the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash.[d] These were the men of Rekah.
13 The sons of Kenaz:
Othniel(F) and Seraiah.
The sons of Othniel:
Hathath and Meonothai.[e] 14 Meonothai was the father of Ophrah.
Seraiah was the father of Joab,
the father of Ge Harashim.[f] It was called this because its people were skilled workers.
15 The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh:
Iru, Elah and Naam.
The son of Elah:
Kenaz.
16 The sons of Jehallelel:
Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.
17 The sons of Ezrah:
Jether, Mered, Epher and Jalon. One of Mered’s wives gave birth to Miriam,(G) Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa. 18 (His wife from the tribe of Judah gave birth to Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soko, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.(H)) These were the children of Pharaoh’s daughter Bithiah, whom Mered had married.
19 The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham:
the father of Keilah(I) the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maakathite.(J)
20 The sons of Shimon:
Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan and Tilon.
The descendants of Ishi:
Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 The sons of Shelah(K) son of Judah:
Er the father of Lekah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea, 22 Jokim, the men of Kozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (These records are from ancient times.) 23 They were the potters who lived at Netaim and Gederah; they stayed there and worked for the king.

24 The descendants of Simeon:(M)
Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib,(N) Zerah and Shaul;
25 Shallum was Shaul’s son, Mibsam his son and Mishma his son.
26 The descendants of Mishma:
Hammuel his son, Zakkur his son and Shimei his son.
27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children; so their entire clan did not become as numerous as the people of Judah. 28 They lived in Beersheba,(O) Moladah,(P) Hazar Shual, 29 Bilhah, Ezem,(Q) Tolad, 30 Bethuel, Hormah,(R) Ziklag,(S) 31 Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri and Shaaraim.(T) These were their towns until the reign of David. 32 Their surrounding villages were Etam, Ain,(U) Rimmon, Token and Ashan(V)—five towns— 33 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath.[g] These were their settlements. And they kept a genealogical record.
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah, 35 Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel, 36 also Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah, 37 and Ziza son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.
38 The men listed above by name were leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly, 39 and they went to the outskirts of Gedor(W) to the east of the valley in search of pasture for their flocks. 40 They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet.(X) Some Hamites had lived there formerly.
41 The men whose names were listed came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites(Y) who were there and completely destroyed[h] them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks. 42 And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir.(Z) 43 They killed the remaining Amalekites(AA) who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.

16 And the sons of Jehaleleel; Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
17 And the sons of Ezra were, Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she bare Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, which Mered took.

22 And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And these are ancient things.
23 These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work.
24 The sons of Simeon were, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul:

31 And at Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusim, and at Bethbirei, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.

33 And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and their genealogy.

38 These mentioned by their names were princes in their families: and the house of their fathers increased greatly.
39 And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
40 And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelt there of old.
41 And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.
42 And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43 And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.
