3 所以，你們既然與基督一同復活，就應當尋求天上的事，那裡有基督坐在　神的右邊。 2 你們要思念的，是天上的事，不是地上的事。 3 因為你們已經死了，你們的生命與基督一同隱藏在　神裡面。 4 基督就是你們的生命，他顯現的時候，你們也要和他一同在榮耀裡顯現。

5 所以要治死你們在地上的肢體，就如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。 6 因著這些事，　神的忿怒必要臨到悖逆的人（有些抄本無“悖逆的人”）。 7 你們從前在其中生活的時候，也曾經這樣行過。 8 但現在你們要除去忿怒、惱怒、惡毒、毀謗，以及粗言穢語這一切事。 9 不要彼此說謊，因為你們已經脫去了舊人和舊人的行為， 10 穿上了新人。這新人照著他的創造者的形象漸漸更新，能夠充分認識主。 11 在這一方面，並不分希臘人和猶太人，受割禮的和未受割禮的，未開化的人和西古提人，奴隸和自由人，唯有基督是一切，也在一切之內。

過新人的生活

18 你們作妻子的，要順服丈夫，這在主裡是合宜的。 19 你們作丈夫的，要愛妻子，不可苦待她們。

20 你們作兒女的，要凡事聽從父母，因為這在主裡是可喜悅的。 21 你們作父親的，不要激怒兒女，免得他們灰心喪志。

22 你們作僕人的，要凡事聽從世上的主人，作事不要只作給人看，像那些討人歡心的一樣，卻要以真誠的心敬畏主。 23 無論你們作甚麼，都要從心裡去作，像是為主作的，不是為人作的， 24 因為你們知道，你們一定會從主那裡得到基業為賞賜。你們應當服事主基督， 25 但那些不義的人，必按他所行的不義受報應。主並不偏待人。

你们的新生

3 所以，既然你们与基督一起复活了，就应该努力追求天堂的事情，在那里基督坐在上帝的右侧。 2 要专心致力于天堂里的事情，而不是地上的事情。 3 因为你们旧的自我已经死去，新的生命和基督一起隐藏在上帝之中。 4 当基督，我们的生命再次出现时，你们也会和他一起在荣耀里出现。

5 所以，要把你们之中一切属于尘世的东西都置于死地：不道德的性行为、不纯、淫欲、邪念和贪婪，贪婪是崇拜偶像的一种形式。 6 因为这些，上帝的愤怒就要来临了。 [a] 7 在你们过去的罪恶生活中，你们也做过这些事情。

18 妻子要服从丈夫，这是主的信徒的本份。

19 丈夫要爱妻子，不要虐待她们。

20 子女事事都要服从父母，主的信徒的这种行为令上帝喜悦。

21 父母不要为难子女，免得他们灰心丧气。

22 仆人事事要服从尘世的主人，你们这么做，不仅是给主人看，想讨他们的喜欢，而且是发自内心的真诚，因为你们敬畏上帝。 23 不论做什么，都要全心全意，就像在为主工作，而不是为人工作。 24 记住，主会赐给你们天堂的财产做为奖赏。侍奉基督吧，他是你们真正的主。 25 做错事的人最终要为他的错误受到惩罚。主一视同仁地对待你们。

3 Therefore, if you have been (A)raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, (B)seated at the right hand of God. 2 [a](C)Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you (D)died and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, (E)who is our life, is manifested, (F)then you also will be manifested with Him in glory.

5 (G)Therefore, [b]consider (H)the members of your earthly body as dead to (I)sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these things, (J)the wrath of God is coming [c]upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and (K)in them you also once walked, when you were living [d]in them. 8 But now you also, (L)lay them all aside: (M)wrath, anger, malice, slander, and (N)abusive speech from your mouth. 9 [e](O)Do not lie to one another, since you (P)put off the old man with its evil practices, 10 and have (Q)put on the new man who is being [f](R)renewed to a full knowledge (S)according to the image of the One who (T)created him— 11 a renewal in which (U)there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, (V)circumcised and uncircumcised, [g](W)barbarian, Scythian, (X)slave, and freeman, but (Y)Christ is all and in all.

Family and Work

18 (AR)Wives, (AS)be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 (AT)Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. 20 (AU)Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is pleasing [q]to the Lord. 21 (AV)Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

22 (AW)Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters [r]according to the flesh, (AX)not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but with [s]integrity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, do your work [t]heartily, (AY)as for the Lord [u]rather than for men, 24 (AZ)knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward [v]of (BA)the inheritance. Living as Those Made Alive in Christ

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ,(A) set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.(B) 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.(C) 3 For you died,(D) and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life,(E) appears,(F) then you also will appear with him in glory.(G)

5 Put to death,(H) therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:(I) sexual immorality,(J) impurity, lust, evil desires and greed,(K) which is idolatry.(L) 6 Because of these, the wrath of God(M) is coming.[b] 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.(N) 8 But now you must also rid yourselves(O) of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,(P) and filthy language from your lips.(Q) 9 Do not lie to each other,(R) since you have taken off your old self(S) with its practices 10 and have put on the new self,(T) which is being renewed(U) in knowledge in the image of its Creator.(V) 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew,(W) circumcised or uncircumcised,(X) barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,(Y) but Christ is all,(Z) and is in all.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves(AA) with compassion, kindness, humility,(AB) gentleness and patience.(AC) 13 Bear with each other(AD) and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.(AE) 14 And over all these virtues put on love,(AF) which binds them all together in perfect unity.(AG)

15 Let the peace of Christ(AH) rule in your hearts, since as members of one body(AI) you were called to peace.(AJ) And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ(AK) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom(AL) through psalms,(AM) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.(AN) 17 And whatever you do,(AO) whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks(AP) to God the Father through him.

Instructions for Christian Households(AQ)

18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands,(AR) as is fitting in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance(AS) from the Lord as a reward.(AT) It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.(AU)
