1 奉 神旨意作基督耶稣使徒的保罗，和提摩太弟兄， 2 写信给在歌罗西的圣徒，和在基督里忠心的弟兄。愿恩惠平安从我们的父 神临到你们。
为歌罗西信徒感谢 神
3 我们为你们祈祷的时候，常常感谢 神我们主耶稣基督的父， 4 因为听见你们在基督耶稣里的信心，和对众圣徒的爱心。 5 这都是由于那给你们存在天上的盼望，这盼望是你们从前在福音真理的道上听过的。 6 这福音传到你们那里，也传到全世界；你们听了福音，因着真理确实认识了 神的恩典之后，这福音就在你们中间不断地结果和增长，在全世界也是一样。 7 这福音也就是你们从我们亲爱的、一同作仆人（“仆人”或译：“执事”）的以巴弗那里学到的。他为你们作了基督忠心的仆役， 8 也把你们在圣灵里的爱心告诉了我们。
保罗的祈祷
9 因此，我们从听见的那天起，就不停地为你们祷告祈求，愿你们借着一切属灵的智慧和悟性，可以充分明白 神的旨意， 10 使你们行事为人对得起主，凡事蒙他喜悦；在一切善事上多结果子，更加认识 神； 11 依照他荣耀的大能得着一切能力，带着喜乐的心，凡事忍耐宽容； 12 并且感谢父，他使你们有资格分享圣徒在光明中的基业。 13 他救我们脱离了黑暗的权势，把我们迁入他爱子的国里。 14 我们在爱子里蒙了救赎，罪得赦免。
基督在万有之上
15 这爱子是那看不见的 神的形象，是首先的，在一切被造的之上。 16 因为天上地上的万有：看得见的和看不见的，无论是坐王位的，或是作主的，或是执政的，或是掌权的，都是本着他造的；万有都是借着他，又是为着他而造的。 17 他在万有之先；万有也一同靠着他而存在。 18 他是身体的头，这身体就是教会。他是元始，是死人中首先复生的，好让他在凡事上居首位； 19 因为 神乐意使所有的丰盛都住在爱子里面， 20 并且借着他在十字架上所流的血成就了和平，使万有，无论是地上天上的，都借着他与 神和好了。
21 虽然你们从前也是和 神隔绝，心思上与他为敌，行为邪恶， 22 但现今 神在爱子的肉身上，借着他的死，使你们与 神和好了，为了要把你们这些圣洁、无瑕疵、无可指摘的人，呈献在他面前。 23 只是你们要常存信心，根基稳固，不受动摇偏离福音的盼望。这福音你们听过了，也传给了天下万民；我保罗也作了这福音的仆役。
竭力传扬 神的奥秘
24 现在我为你们受苦，我觉得喜乐；为了基督的身体，就是为了教会，我要在自己的肉身上，补满基督苦难的不足。 25-26 我照着 神为你们而赐给我的管家职分，作了教会的仆役，要把 神的道，就是历世历代隐藏的奥秘，传得完备。现在这奥秘已经向他的众圣徒显明了。 27 神愿意使他们知道这奥秘在外族人中有多么荣耀的丰盛，这奥秘就是基督在你们里面成了荣耀的盼望。 28 我们传扬他，是用各样的智慧，劝戒各人，教导各人，为了要使各人在基督里得到完全。 29 我也为了这事劳苦，按着他用大能在我心中运行的动力，竭力奋斗。

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

1 Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo,
2 a los santos y fieles hermanos[a] en Cristo que están en Colosas:
Que Dios nuestro Padre os conceda[b] gracia y paz.
Acción de gracias e intercesión
3 Siempre que oramos por vosotros, damos gracias a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, 4 pues hemos recibido noticias de vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús y del amor que tenéis por todos los santos 5 a causa de la esperanza reservada para vosotros en el cielo. De esta esperanza ya habéis sabido por la palabra de verdad, que es el evangelio 6 que ha llegado hasta vosotros. Este evangelio está dando fruto y creciendo en todo el mundo, como también ha sucedido entre vosotros desde el día en que supisteis de la gracia de Dios y la comprendisteis plenamente. 7 Así lo aprendisteis de Epafras, nuestro querido colaborador[c] y fiel servidor de Cristo para el bien de vosotros.[d] 8 Fue él quien nos habló del amor que tenéis en el Espíritu.
9 Por eso, desde el día en que lo supimos, no hemos dejado de orar por vosotros. Pedimos que Dios os haga conocer plenamente su voluntad con toda sabiduría y comprensión espiritual, 10 para que viváis de manera digna del Señor, agradándole en todo. Esto implica dar fruto en toda buena obra, crecer en el conocimiento de Dios 11 y ser fortalecidos en todo sentido con su glorioso poder. Así perseveraréis con paciencia en toda situación, 12 dando gracias con alegría al Padre. Él os[e] ha facultado para participar de la herencia de los santos en el reino de la luz. 13 Él nos libró del dominio de la oscuridad y nos trasladó al reino de su amado Hijo, 14 en quien tenemos redención,[f] el perdón de pecados.
La supremacía de Cristo
15 Él es la imagen del Dios invisible,
el primogénito[g] de toda creación,
16 porque por medio de él fueron creadas todas las cosas
en el cielo y en la tierra, visibles e invisibles,
sean tronos, poderes, principados o autoridades:
todo ha sido creado
por medio de él y para él.
17 Él es anterior a todas las cosas,
que por medio de él forman un todo coherente.[h]
18 Él es la cabeza del cuerpo,
que es la iglesia.
Él es el principio,
el primogénito de la resurrección,
para ser en todo el primero.
19 Porque a Dios le agradó habitar en él con toda su plenitud
20 y, por medio de él, reconciliar consigo todas las cosas,
tanto las que están en la tierra como las que están en el cielo,
haciendo la paz mediante la sangre que derramó en la cruz.
21 En otro tiempo vosotros, por vuestra actitud y vuestras malas acciones, estabais alejados de Dios y erais sus enemigos. 22 Pero ahora Dios, a fin de presentaros santos, intachables e irreprochables delante de él, os ha reconciliado en el cuerpo mortal de Cristo mediante su muerte, 23 con tal de que os mantengáis firmes en la fe, bien cimentados y estables, sin abandonar la esperanza que ofrece el evangelio. Este es el evangelio que vosotros oísteis y que ha sido proclamado en toda la creación debajo del cielo, y del que yo, Pablo, he llegado a ser servidor.
Trabajo de Pablo por la iglesia
24 Ahora me alegro en medio de mis sufrimientos por vosotros, y voy completando en mí mismo[i] lo que falta de las aflicciones de Cristo, en favor de su cuerpo, que es la iglesia. 25 De esta llegué a ser servidor según el plan que Dios me encomendó para vosotros: el dar cumplimiento a la palabra de Dios, 26 anunciando el misterio que se ha mantenido oculto por siglos y generaciones, pero que ahora se ha manifestado a sus santos. 27 A estos Dios se propuso darles a conocer cuál es la gloriosa riqueza de este misterio entre las naciones, que es Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de gloria.
28 A este Cristo proclamamos, aconsejando y enseñando con toda sabiduría a todos los seres humanos, para presentarlos a todos perfectos en él. 29 Con este fin trabajo y lucho fortalecido por el poder de Cristo que obra en mí.
