四輛馬車
6 我又舉目觀看，見有四輛馬車從兩座銅山之間出來。 2 第一輛車套著紅馬，第二輛車套著黑馬， 3 第三輛車套著白馬，第四輛車套著斑點馬，馬都很雄壯。 4 我問與我說話的天使：「主啊，這些馬車是什麼意思？」 5 天使說：「他們是侍立在天下之主面前的四靈[a]，正在出發。」 6 套著黑馬的車前往北方，套著白馬的車前往西方[b]，套著斑點馬的車前往南方。 7 這些雄壯的馬出來，迫不及待地要巡察大地。天使說：「你們去巡察大地吧！」牠們便遵命而行。 8 他又高聲對我說：「看啊，那些到北方去的已在那裡使我的心得到安慰。」
為約書亞加冕
9 耶和華的話傳給了我，說： 10 「被擄到巴比倫的黑玳、多比雅和耶大雅已經回來了，你要收集他們奉獻的金銀，並在當天去西番雅的兒子約西亞家。 11 要用這些金銀製作冠冕，戴在約撒答的兒子約書亞大祭司頭上， 12 告訴他，萬軍之耶和華說，『看啊，那被稱為大衛苗裔的要從自己的地方興起，建造耶和華的殿。 13 祂必建造耶和華的殿，帶著王者的尊榮坐在寶座上掌權，寶座上也必坐著祭司[c]，兩者和諧共存。』 14 這冠冕要留在耶和華的殿中，作為對黑玳[d]、多比雅、耶大雅和西番雅的兒子約西亞[e]的紀念。」
15 遠方的人也要來建造耶和華的殿。那時你們便知道是萬軍之耶和華差遣我到你們這裡來的。你們若全心遵從你們上帝耶和華的話，這事就必成就。
Zechariah 6

6 And again I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of firm, immovable bronze.
2 The first chariot had red or bay horses, the second chariot had black horses,
3 The third chariot had white horses, and the fourth chariot had dappled, active, and strong horses.
4 Then I said to the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord?
5 And the angel answered me, These are the four winds or spirits of the heavens, which go forth from presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.(A)
6 The chariot with the black horses is going forth into the north country, and the white ones are going forth after them [because there are two northern powers to overcome], and the dappled ones are going forth toward the south country.
7 And [the chariots with] the strong [horses] went forth and sought to go that they might patrol the earth. And [the Lord] said to them, Go, walk to and fro through the earth and patrol it. So they walked about through the earth [watching and protecting it].
8 Then He summoned me and said to me, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted My Spirit [of wrath] and have caused it to rest in the north country.
9 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
10 Accept donations and offerings from these [as representatives of the] exiles, from Heldai, from Tobijah, and from Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon; and come the same day and go to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
11 Yes, take from them silver and gold, and make crowns and set [one] upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest,
12 And say to him, Thus says the Lord of hosts: [You, Joshua] behold (look at, keep in sight, watch) the Man [the Messiah] whose name is the Branch, for He shall grow up in His place and He shall build the [true] temple of the Lord.(B)
13 Yes, [you are building a temple of the Lord, but] it is He Who shall build the [true] temple of the Lord, and He shall bear the honor and glory [as of the only begotten of the Father] and shall sit and rule upon His throne. And He shall be a [a]Priest upon His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between the two [offices—Priest and King].(C)
14 And the [other] crown shall be [credited] to Helem (Heldai), to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to the kindness and favor of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, and shall be in the temple of the Lord for a reminder and memorial.(D)
15 And those who are far off shall come and help build the temple of the Lord, and you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord sent me [Zechariah] to you. And [your part in this] shall come to pass if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;
3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.
7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
9 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;
11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord:
13 Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

6 Und ich erhob wiederum meine Augen und schaute und siehe, vier Wagen kamen zwischen zwei Bergen hervor, und die Berge waren ehern. 2 Am ersten Wagen waren rote Rosse, am zweiten Wagen schwarze Rosse, 3 am dritten aber weiße und am vierten gefleckte, starke Rosse. 4 Und ich antwortete und sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Mein Herr, was bedeuten diese?
5 Der Engel antwortete und sprach zu mir: Das sind die vier Winde des Himmels, welche ausgehen, nachdem sie sich gestellt haben vor den Herrscher der ganzen Erde. 6 Der Wagen mit den schwarzen Rossen zieht aus ins Land des Nordens, und die weißen folgen ihm; die gefleckten aber sind ausgezogen in das Land des Südens. 7 Auch die roten sind ausgezogen, und sie trachten darnach, umherzuziehen auf der Erde. Und er sprach: Gehet und durchziehet die Erde! Und sie durchzogen die Erde.
8 Und er rief mich und sprach zu mir: Siehe, die nach Norden ziehen, verschaffen, daß mein Geist sich niederläßt im Lande des Nordens.
Prophezeiung über den Mann mit dem Namen „Spross“
9 Und das Wort des Herrn erging an mich und sprach:
10 Nimm von denen, die in der Gefangenschaft gewesen sind, von Cheldai, von Tobia und Jedaja, und komme du am selbigen Tag und gehe in das Haus Josias, des Sohnes Zephanjas, [mit denen,] die von Babel gekommen sind; 11 und nimm Silber und Gold und mache Kronen daraus und setze sie Josua, dem Sohne Jozadaks, dem Hohenpriester, aufs Haupt. 12 Und du sollst also zu ihm sagen: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Siehe, es ist ein Mann, dessen Name «Sproß» ist, denn er wird aus seinem Orte hervorsprossen und den Tempel des Herrn bauen. 13 Ja, er wird den Tempel des Herrn bauen und königlichen Schmuck tragen und wird auf seinem Thron sitzen und herrschen und wird Priester sein auf seinem Thron, ein Friedensbund wird zwischen ihnen beiden bestehen. 14 Die Kronen aber sollen für Chelem[a], Tobia, Jedaja und Chen, den Sohn Zephanjas, ein Gedächtnis sein im Tempel des Herrn. 15 Und man wird aus der Ferne kommen und bauen am Tempel des Herrn. Also werdet ihr erfahren, daß mich der Herr der Heerscharen zu euch gesandt hat; und das wird geschehen, wenn ihr der Stimme des Herrn, eures Gottes, gehorchen werdet.
