暴君的没落
11 黎巴嫩哪，敞开你的门，
任火吞灭你的香柏树。
2 哀号吧，松树！
因为香柏树倾倒了，高大的树毁坏了。
哀号吧，巴珊的橡树！
因为茂盛的树林倒下来了。
3 听啊，有牧人在哀号，
因他们的荣华败落了；
听啊，有少壮狮子咆哮，
因约旦河旁的丛林荒废了。
两个牧人
4 耶和华—我的 神如此说：“你要牧养这群将宰的羊。 5 买羊的宰了他们，却不认为自己有罪；卖他们的也说：‘耶和华是应当称颂的，因我富足了。’牧养他们的并不怜悯他们。 6 我不再怜悯这地的居民。看哪，我要将这些人交在各人的邻舍和君王手中；他们必毁灭这地，我却不救任何一个脱离他们的手。这是耶和华说的。”
7 于是，我牧养这群将宰的羊，就是羊群中最困苦的[a]；我拿着两根杖，一根我称为“恩惠”[b]，一根称为“联合”。这样，我就牧养这群羊。 8 一个月之内，我废除了三个牧人，因为我的心厌烦他们，他们的心也憎恶我。 9 我就说：“我不牧养你们。要死的，由他死；灭亡的，由他灭亡；剩余的，由他们彼此吞食。” 10 我拿起那根称为“恩惠”的杖，折断它，表明我废弃与万民所立的约。 11 当日约就废了。因此，那些羊群中最困苦的[c]，看着我，就知道这真是耶和华的话。 12 我对他们说：“你们若看为美，就给我工价。不然，就罢了！”于是他们秤了三十块银钱作为我的工价。 13 耶和华对我说：“把它丢给窑户。那是他们对我所估定的好价钱！”我就取这三十块银钱，在耶和华的殿中将它丢给窑户。 14 我又折断第二根杖，就是称为“联合”的那根杖，表明我废弃犹大与以色列弟兄间的情谊。

17 祸哉！无用的牧人丢弃羊群，
刀必临到他的膀臂和右眼上；
他的膀臂必全然枯干，
他的右眼也必昏暗失明。”

Desolation of Israel
11 Open (A)your doors, O Lebanon,
That fire may devour your cedars.
2 Wail, O cypress, for the (B)cedar has fallen,
Because the mighty trees are ruined.
Wail, O oaks of Bashan,
(C)For the thick forest has come down.
3 There is the sound of wailing (D)shepherds!
For their glory is in ruins.
There is the sound of roaring lions!
For the [a]pride of the Jordan is in ruins.
Prophecy of the Shepherds
4 Thus says the Lord my God, “Feed the flock for slaughter, 5 whose owners slaughter them and (E)feel no guilt; those who sell them (F)say, ‘Blessed be the Lord, for I am rich’; and their shepherds do (G)not pity them. 6 For I will no longer pity the inhabitants of the land,” says the Lord. “But indeed I will give everyone into his neighbor’s hand and into the hand of his king. They shall [b]attack the land, and I will not deliver them from their hand.”
7 So I fed the flock for slaughter, [c]in particular (H)the poor of the flock. I took for myself two staffs: the one I called [d]Beauty, and the other I called [e]Bonds; and I fed the flock. 8 I [f]dismissed the three shepherds (I)in one month. My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me. 9 Then I said, “I will not feed you. (J)Let what is dying die, and what is perishing perish. Let those that are left eat each other’s flesh.” 10 And I took my staff, [g]Beauty, and cut it in two, that I might break the covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11 So it was broken on that day. Thus (K)the[h] poor of the flock, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord. 12 Then I said to them, “If it is [i]agreeable to you, give me my wages; and if not, refrain.” So they (L)weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the (M)potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter. 14 Then I cut in two my other staff, [j]Bonds, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
15 And the Lord said to me, (N)“Next, take for yourself the implements of a foolish shepherd. 16 For indeed I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are cut off, nor seek the young, nor heal those that are broken, nor feed those that still stand. But he will eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hooves in (O)pieces.
17 “Woe(P) to the worthless shepherd,
Who leaves the flock!
A sword shall be against his arm
And against his right eye;
His arm shall completely wither,
And his right eye shall be totally blinded.”

The Doomed Flock
11 Open your doors, O Lebanon,
That a (A)fire may feed on your (B)cedars.
2 Wail, O [a]cypress, for the cedar has fallen,
Because the glorious trees have been destroyed;
Wail, O oaks of Bashan,
For the [b]impenetrable forest has come down.
3 There is a sound of the shepherds’ (C)wail,
For their glory is ruined;
There is a (D)sound of the young lions’ roar,
For the [c]pride of the Jordan is ruined.
4 Thus says the Lord my God, “Pasture the flock doomed to (E)slaughter. 5 Those who buy them slay them and [d]go (F)unpunished, and each of those who sell them says, ‘Blessed be the Lord, for (G)I have become rich!’ And their (H)own shepherds have no pity on them. 6 For I will (I)no longer have pity on the inhabitants of the land,” declares the Lord; “but behold, I will (J)cause the men to [e]fall, each into another’s [f]power and into the [g]power of his king; and they will strike the land, and I will (K)not deliver them from their [h]power.”
7 So I (L)pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, [i]hence the (M)afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two (N)staffs: the one I called [j](O)Favor and the other I called [k](P)Union; so I pastured the flock. 8 Then I annihilated the three shepherds in (Q)one month, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also [l]was weary of me. 9 Then I said, “I will not pasture you. What is to (R)die, [m]let it die, and what is to be annihilated, [n]let it be annihilated; and [o]let those who are left eat one another’s flesh.” 10 I took my staff [p](S)Favor and cut it in pieces, to [q](T)break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11 So it was [r]broken on that day, and [s]thus the (U)afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the Lord. 12 I said to them, “If it is good in your sight, give me my (V)wages; but if not, [t]never mind!” So they weighed out (W)thirty shekels of silver as my wages. 13 Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the (X)potter, that magnificent price at which I was valued by them.” So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the Lord. 14 Then I cut in pieces my second staff [u](Y)Union, to (Z)break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
15 The Lord said to me, “Take again for yourself the equipment of a [v](AA)foolish shepherd. 16 For behold, I am going to raise up a shepherd in the land who will (AB)not care for the perishing, seek the scattered, heal the broken, or sustain the one standing, but will (AC)devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hoofs.
17 “(AD)Woe to the worthless shepherd
Who leaves the flock!
A (AE)sword will be on his arm
And on his right eye!
His (AF)arm will be totally withered
And his right eye will be [w]blind.”
