耶和华应许拯救以色列
10 要在春季向耶和华求雨。
祂创造雷雨，
为世人降下甘霖，
使田间长出青翠之物。
2 因为神像说的是虚言，
占卜者讲的是谎话，
他们说的是假梦，
他们的安慰是空的。
所以人们如迷失的羊，
因没有牧人而受苦。
3 “我必向牧人发怒，
我必惩罚这些首领[a]。
因为我——万军之耶和华必眷顾我的羊群犹大家，
我必使他们像战场上的骏马。
4 房角石、帐篷的橛子、战弓，
以及所有掌权者必出自犹大。
5 他们必像战场上的勇士，
将仇敌践踏在街上的泥土中。
他们必争战，
因为耶和华与他们同在。
他们必使敌方的骑兵蒙羞。
6 “我必使犹大家强盛，
我必拯救约瑟家。
我必带他们回到故土，
因为我怜悯他们。
他们必好像从未被我抛弃一样，
因为我是他们的上帝耶和华，
我必应允他们的祷告。
7 以法莲人必如勇士，
他们必心里快乐，如同喝了酒，
他们的儿女见状也必快乐，
他们必因耶和华而欢心。
8 “我必吹哨聚集他们，
因为我救赎了他们，
他们必像从前一样人数众多。
9 虽然我把他们分散到列国，
他们必在远方想起我，
他们及其子女必得以幸存，
并且回到故土。
10 我必从埃及领他们回到故土，
从亚述招聚他们，
领他们到基列和黎巴嫩，
那里将不够他们居住。
11 祂必经过苦海，
击打海浪，
尼罗河必干涸，
亚述的骄傲必扫地，
埃及的势力必灭没。
12 我必让他们靠着我强盛，
他们必奉我的名行事。
这是耶和华说的。”

Israel och Juda som förlorade får
10 Be Herren om regn när våren kommer. Han har makt över stormen och regnet och ska ge er vad ni behöver. Alla fält ska bli saftiga betesmarker.
2 Det är dåraktigt att be avgudar om något sådant! Spåmännens förutsägelser är bara lögn. Vad är det för glädje med löften som aldrig slår in? Juda och Israel har förts vilse och vandrar omkring utan herde. Alla anfaller dem, därför att de inte har någon som beskyddar dem.
3 Jag är rasande på era 'herdar och ledare' och jag ska straffa dem! Herren, härskarornas Gud, har kommit för att hjälpa sitt folk Juda. Jag ska göra dem starka och stolta som en stridshäst.
4 Från dem ska hörnstenen komma, pelaren som allt hopp hänger på, bågen som vinner slaget och härskaren som råder över hela jorden.
5 De ska bli väldiga krigare inför Herren där de går fram. Herren är med dem i striden, och deras fiender är dömda till undergång.
6 Jag ska ge styrka åt Juda, och jag ska rädda Israel. Jag ska återupprätta dem därför att jag älskar dem. Det ska bli som om jag aldrig hade förkastat dem, för jag, Herren, ska höra deras rop.
7 De ska bli mäktiga soldater. De ska glädja sig som av vin. Deras barn ska också se Herrens barmhärtighet och vara glada. Alla ska glädja sig i Herren.
8 När jag som deras herde lockar på dem ska de komma springande, för jag har köpt tillbaka dem. De ska bli lika många som förr en gång.
9 Fastän jag har sått ut dem som säd bland många länder, ska de ändå komma ihåg mig och vända tillbaka till sin Gud. Med alla sina barn ska de komma hem igen till Israel.
10 Jag ska föra dem tillbaka från Egypten och Assyrien och låta dem slå sig ner i Israel, i Gilead och Libanon. Det ska knappast finnas utrymme för dem alla!
11 De ska kunna vandra tryggt genom svårigheterna, för vågorna ska hållas tillbaka. Nilen ska torka ut, och det ska vara slut på Assyriens och Egyptens makt över mitt folk.
12 Herren säger: Jag ska göra mitt folk starkt! De ska gå vart de vill, och de ska stå under mitt beskydd.

The Lord’s People Will Be Victorious
10 Ask Yahweh for rain in the springtime.
Yahweh makes thunderstorms.
He gives everyone rain showers for the plants in the field.
2 The idols speak lies.
The fortunetellers see false visions.
They speak about false dreams.
They give useless comfort.
That is why people wander around like sheep.
They are troubled because there is no shepherd.
3 “My burning anger is directed against the shepherds.
I will punish the male goats.
Yahweh Tsebaoth takes care of his flock, the people of Judah.
He makes them like his splendid war horse.”
4 From them will come a cornerstone,
from them a tent peg,
from them a battle bow,
from them every leader.
5 Together they will be like warriors
who trample the enemy in the mud on the streets.
They will fight because Yahweh is with them.
They will put to shame those who ride on horses.
6 “I will strengthen the people of Judah.
I will rescue Joseph’s people.
I will bring them back, because I have compassion for them.
It will be as though I had never rejected them,
because I am Yahweh their Elohim, and I will answer them.
7 The people of Ephraim will be like mighty warriors.
Their hearts will be glad as if they had some wine to drink.
Their sons will see it and be glad.
Their hearts will find joy in Yahweh.
8 I will signal them with a whistle
and gather them because I have reclaimed them.
They will be as numerous as they have ever been.
9 Although I have scattered them among the nations,
they will remember me even in faraway places.
They will live with their children and then return.
10 I will bring them back from Egypt.
I will gather them from Assyria.
I will bring them to Gilead and to Lebanon,
and there won’t be enough room for them.”
11 Yahweh will pass through a sea of distress,
strike the waves in the sea,
and dry up all the deep places of the Nile River.
The pride of Assyria will be humiliated,
and the scepter of Egypt will depart.
12 “I will strengthen them in Yahweh.
They will live in his name,” declares Yahweh.

The Lord Will Care for Judah
10 Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime;
it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms.
He gives showers of rain(A) to all people,
and plants of the field(B) to everyone.
2 The idols(C) speak deceitfully,
diviners(D) see visions that lie;
they tell dreams(E) that are false,
they give comfort in vain.(F)
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd.(G)
3 “My anger burns against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;(H)
for the Lord Almighty will care
for his flock, the people of Judah,
and make them like a proud horse in battle.(I)
4 From Judah will come the cornerstone,(J)
from him the tent peg,(K)
from him the battle bow,(L)
from him every ruler.
5 Together they[a] will be like warriors in battle
trampling their enemy into the mud of the streets.(M)
They will fight because the Lord is with them,
and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.(N)
6 “I will strengthen(O) Judah
and save the tribes of Joseph.
I will restore them
because I have compassion(P) on them.(Q)
They will be as though
I had not rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God
and I will answer(R) them.
7 The Ephraimites will become like warriors,
and their hearts will be glad as with wine.(S)
Their children will see it and be joyful;
their hearts will rejoice(T) in the Lord.
8 I will signal(U) for them
and gather them in.
Surely I will redeem them;
they will be as numerous(V) as before.
9 Though I scatter them among the peoples,
yet in distant lands they will remember me.(W)
They and their children will survive,
and they will return.
10 I will bring them back from Egypt
and gather them from Assyria.(X)
I will bring them to Gilead(Y) and Lebanon,
and there will not be room(Z) enough for them.
11 They will pass through the sea of trouble;
the surging sea will be subdued
and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.(AA)
Assyria’s pride(AB) will be brought down
and Egypt’s scepter(AC) will pass away.(AD)
12 I will strengthen(AE) them in the Lord
and in his name they will live securely,(AF)”
declares the Lord.
