10 “当春雨的时候，你们要向发闪电的耶和华求雨，他必为众人降下甘霖，使田园生长菜蔬。 2 因为家神所言的是虚空，卜士所见的是虚假，做梦者所说的是假梦。他们白白地安慰人，所以众人如羊流离，因无牧人就受苦。 3 我的怒气向牧人发作，我必惩罚公山羊，因我万军之耶和华眷顾自己的羊群，就是犹大家，必使他们如骏马在阵上。 4 房角石、钉子、争战的弓和一切掌权的都从他而出。 5 他们必如勇士，在阵上将仇敌践踏在街上的泥土中。他们必争战，因为耶和华与他们同在，骑马的也必羞愧。
主必拯其民使返故土
6 “我要坚固犹大家，拯救约瑟家，要领他们归回。我要怜恤他们，他们必像未曾弃绝的一样。都因我是耶和华他们的神，我必应允他们的祷告。 7 以法莲人必如勇士，他们心中畅快如同喝酒。他们的儿女必看见而快活，他们的心必因耶和华喜乐。
8 “我要发咝声，聚集他们，因我已经救赎他们。他们的人数必加增，如从前加增一样。 9 我虽然[a]播散他们在列国中，他们必在远方记念我。他们与儿女都必存活，且得归回。 10 我必再领他们出埃及地，招聚他们出亚述，领他们到基列和黎巴嫩，这地尚且不够他们居住。 11 耶和华必经过苦海，击打海浪，使尼罗河的深处都枯干。亚述的骄傲必致卑微，埃及的权柄必然灭没。 12 我必使他们倚靠我得以坚固，一举一动必奉我的名。这是耶和华说的。”

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ
10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਉਹ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਭੇਜੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਦੇ ਉੱਗਣਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਿਆਵਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
2 ਲੋਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਜਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਰਬ ਹੈ। ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਝੂਠ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਸਮਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਵਿਅਰਬ ਹੈ। ਸੋ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਆਜੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
3 ਯੋਹਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੈਂ ਆਜੜੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਖਫ਼ਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੇਡਾਂ (ਉੱਮਤ) ਤੇ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।” (ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਜੜ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੰਗੀ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੀ।
4 “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਗੂ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਖੂੰਟਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਹਬਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ। 5 ਉਹ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਿੱਧਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਲੜਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੇ ਘੁੜਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ। 6 ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਯੂਸਫ਼ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਤਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ-ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। 7 ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਫੀ ਮੈਅ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜ ਮਨਾਉਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਨਗੇ।
8 “ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ (ਸੀਟੀ ਵਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ) ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਸੱਦਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਣਗੇ। 9 ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੰਡੇਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਭੁੱਲਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤਨਗੇ। 10 ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ।” 11 ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੋਕਰ ਮਾਰੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਬਿਖਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ-ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਕਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਘੁਮੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। 12 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਤੇ ਤਕੜਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

10 Ask rain from the Lord
in the season of the spring rain,
from the Lord who makes the storm clouds,
who gives men showers of rain,
to every one the vegetation in the field.
2 For the teraphim utter nonsense,
and the diviners see lies;
the dreamers tell false dreams,
and give empty consolation.
Therefore the people wander like sheep;
they are afflicted for want of a shepherd.
3 “My anger is hot against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;[a]
for the Lord of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah,
and will make them like his proud steed in battle.
4 Out of them shall come the cornerstone,
out of them the tent peg,
out of them the battle bow,
out of them every ruler.
5 Together they shall be like mighty men in battle,
trampling the foe in the mud of the streets;
they shall fight because the Lord is with them,
and they shall confound the riders on horses.
6 “I will strengthen the house of Judah,
and I will save the house of Joseph.
I will bring them back because I have compassion on them,
and they shall be as though I had not rejected them;
for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.
7 Then E′phraim shall become like a mighty warrior,
and their hearts shall be glad as with wine.
Their children shall see it and rejoice,
their hearts shall exult in the Lord.
8 “I will signal for them and gather them in,
for I have redeemed them,
and they shall be as many as of old.
9 Though I scattered them among the nations,
yet in far countries they shall remember me,
and with their children they shall live and return.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt,
and gather them from Assyria;
and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon,
till there is no room for them.
11 They shall pass through the sea of Egypt,[b]
and the waves of the sea shall be smitten,
and all the depths of the Nile dried up.
The pride of Assyria shall be laid low,
and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 I will make them strong in the Lord
and they shall glory[c] in his name,”
says the Lord.

10 Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
2 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
3 Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
4 Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
5 And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.
7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.
8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
9 And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
10 I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
11 And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
12 And I will strengthen them in the Lord; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord.

The Lord Will Care for Judah
10 Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime;
it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms.
He gives showers of rain(A) to all people,
and plants of the field(B) to everyone.
2 The idols(C) speak deceitfully,
diviners(D) see visions that lie;
they tell dreams(E) that are false,
they give comfort in vain.(F)
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd.(G)
3 “My anger burns against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;(H)
for the Lord Almighty will care
for his flock, the people of Judah,
and make them like a proud horse in battle.(I)
4 From Judah will come the cornerstone,(J)
from him the tent peg,(K)
from him the battle bow,(L)
from him every ruler.
5 Together they[a] will be like warriors in battle
trampling their enemy into the mud of the streets.(M)
They will fight because the Lord is with them,
and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.(N)

and save the tribes of Joseph.
I will restore them
because I have compassion(P) on them.(Q)
They will be as though
I had not rejected them,

7 The Ephraimites will become like warriors,

Their children will see it and be joyful;
their hearts will rejoice(T) in the Lord.
8 I will signal(U) for them
and gather them in.
Surely I will redeem them;
they will be as numerous(V) as before.
9 Though I scatter them among the peoples,
yet in distant lands they will remember me.(W)
They and their children will survive,
and they will return.
10 I will bring them back from Egypt
and gather them from Assyria.(X)
I will bring them to Gilead(Y) and Lebanon,
and there will not be room(Z) enough for them.
11 They will pass through the sea of trouble;
the surging sea will be subdued
and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.(AA)
Assyria’s pride(AB) will be brought down
and Egypt’s scepter(AC) will pass away.(AD)
12 I will strengthen(AE) them in the Lord
and in his name they will live securely,(AF)”
declares the Lord.
