3 大卫问他：“你从哪里来？”他对他说：“我是从以色列的营中逃出来的。” 4 大卫又问他：“情况怎么样？请你告诉我！”他回答：“众人都逃离战场，他们中间不但有许多人倒地阵亡，连扫罗和他的儿子约拿单也死了。” 5 于是，大卫问那向他报信的年轻人：“你怎么知道扫罗和他的儿子死了呢？”

3 “Where have you come from?” David asked him.
He answered, “I have escaped from the Israelite camp.”
4 “What happened?” David asked. “Tell me.”
“The men fled from the battle,” he replied. “Many of them fell and died. And Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.”
5 Then David said to the young man who brought him the report, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?”
