哈拿禱頌耶和華
2 哈拿禱告說：「我的心因耶和華快樂，我的角因耶和華高舉，我的口向仇敵張開，我因耶和華的救恩歡欣！ 2 只有耶和華為聖，除他以外沒有可比的，也沒有磐石像我們的神。 3 人不要誇口說驕傲的話，也不要出狂妄的言語；因耶和華是大有智識的神，人的行為被他衡量。 4 勇士的弓都已折斷，跌倒的人以力量束腰。 5 素來飽足的，反做用人求食；飢餓的，再不飢餓。不生育的，生了七個兒子；多有兒女的，反倒衰微。 6 耶和華使人死，也使人活；使人下陰間，也使人往上升。 7 他使人貧窮，也使人富足；使人卑微，也使人高貴。 8 他從灰塵裡抬舉貧寒人，從糞堆中提拔窮乏人，使他們與王子同坐，得著榮耀的座位。地的柱子屬於耶和華，他將世界立在其上。 9 他必保護聖民的腳步，使惡人在黑暗中寂然不動，人都不能靠力量得勝。 10 與耶和華爭競的必被打碎，耶和華必從天上以雷攻擊他，必審判地極的人；將力量賜予所立的王，高舉受膏者的角。」

以利二子之劣行
12 以利的兩個兒子是惡人，不認識耶和華。 13 這二祭司待百姓是這樣的規矩：凡有人獻祭，正煮肉的時候，祭司的僕人就來，手拿三齒的叉子， 14 將叉子往罐裡，或鼎裡，或釜裡，或鍋裡一插，插上來的肉，祭司都取了去。凡上到示羅的以色列人，他們都是這樣看待。 15 又在未燒脂油以前，祭司的僕人就來對獻祭的人說：「將肉給祭司，叫他烤吧。他不要煮過的，要生的。」 16 獻祭的人若說：「必須先燒脂油，然後你可以隨意取肉」，僕人就說：「你立時給我，不然我便搶去。」 17 如此，這二少年人的罪在耶和華面前甚重了，因為他們藐視耶和華的祭物[a]。
18 那時，撒母耳還是孩子，穿著細麻布的以弗得，侍立在耶和華面前。 19 他母親每年為他做一件小外袍，同著丈夫上來獻年祭的時候帶來給他。 20 以利為以利加拿和他的妻祝福，說：「願耶和華由這婦人再賜你後裔，代替你從耶和華求來的孩子！」他們就回本鄉去了。 21 耶和華眷顧哈拿，她就懷孕生了三個兒子、兩個女兒。那孩子撒母耳在耶和華面前漸漸長大。

預言以利家必遘奇禍
27 有神人來見以利，對他說：「耶和華如此說：『你祖父在埃及法老家做奴僕的時候，我不是向他們顯現嗎？ 28 在以色列眾支派中，我不是揀選人做我的祭司，使他燒香，在我壇上獻祭，在我面前穿以弗得，又將以色列人所獻的火祭都賜給你父家嗎？ 29 我所吩咐獻在我居所的祭物，你們為何踐踏，尊重你的兒子過於尊重我，將我民以色列所獻美好的祭物肥己呢？』 30 因此，耶和華以色列的神說：『我曾說，你和你父家必永遠行在我面前，現在我卻說，決不容你們這樣行。因為尊重我的，我必重看他；藐視我的，他必被輕視。 31 日子必到，我要折斷你的膀臂和你父家的膀臂，使你家中沒有一個老年人。 32 在神使以色列人享福的時候，你必看見我居所的敗落；在你家中，必永遠沒有一個老年人。 33 我必不從我壇前滅盡你家中的人，那未滅的必使你眼目乾癟，心中憂傷。你家中所生的人都必死在中年。 34 你的兩個兒子何弗尼、非尼哈所遭遇的事可做你的證據，他們二人必一日同死。 35 我要為自己立一個忠心的祭司，他必照我的心意而行。我要為他建立堅固的家，他必永遠行在我的受膏者面前。 36 你家所剩下的人都必來叩拜他，求塊銀子，求個餅，說：「求你賜我祭司的職分，好叫我得點餅吃。」』」

2 哈娜祷告说：

我的力量因耶和华而倍增，

我因耶和华的拯救而快乐。
2 “耶和华圣洁无比，
独一无二，
没有磐石像我们的上帝。
3 不要再骄横傲慢、口出狂言，
因为耶和华鉴察万事，
祂会按着人的行为施行审判。
4 勇士的弓被折断，
软弱的变为刚强。
5 素来丰衣足食的为糊口而当雇工，
本来食不果腹的却不再挨饿。
不育的妇人现在生了七个孩子，
儿女成群的妇人却子女尽失。
6 耶和华掌管生死，
祂使人进入坟墓，也使人起死回生。
7 贫穷富足在于祂，
卑微高贵也在于祂。
8 祂从灰尘中提拔穷苦的人，

大地的根基属于耶和华，

以利的恶子
12 以利的两个儿子为人邪恶，不敬畏耶和华， 13 对民众不守自己做祭司的职分。每当民众来献祭，还在煮祭肉的时候，他们的仆人便拿着三齿叉来， 14 从罐里、鼎里、釜里或锅里插肉，把插上来的祭肉据为己有。他们这样对待所有到示罗来的以色列人。 15 甚至在焚烧脂肪之前，祭司的仆人就来对献祭的人说：“把肉给祭司烤吧！他不要煮过的，只要生的。” 16 如果献祭的人答道：“要先焚烧脂肪，之后你可以随便拿。”仆人便会说：“不，你现在就给我，不然我就要抢了。” 17 在耶和华的眼中，这两个青年罪恶深重，因为他们轻视献给耶和华的祭物。

预言以利家的遭祸
27 有一个上帝的仆人来见以利，对他说：“耶和华说，‘你的祖先在埃及被法老奴役的时候，我向他们显现。 28 我在以色列各支派中选出你的先祖做我的祭司，在我的祭坛上献祭烧香，穿着以弗得事奉我。我把以色列人献的火祭都赐给你先祖家。 29 你们为什么蔑视献给我的祭物和供品？你为什么把你的儿子看得比我还重要，拿我以色列子民所献的上好祭物来养肥自己？’
30 “所以，以色列的上帝耶和华宣告说，‘我曾经应许让你们家族永远做我的祭司。’但现在耶和华宣布，‘这绝不可能了。尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐视我的，必遭藐视。 31 看啊，时候将到，我要终结你和你家族的力量，你们家族必没有一个老人。 32 你必以羡慕的眼光看着我赐福以色列人，你家中却永远没有一个老人。 33 我不会把你家中的人从我坛前灭绝，但留下来的人必使你哭瞎双眼、伤心欲绝。你的子孙必中年夭亡。 34 你的两个儿子何弗尼和非尼哈必死在同一天，这就是我言出必行的记号。 35 我要为自己立一位忠心的祭司，他必照我的心意行事。我要赐福给他的后代，他必永远服侍我膏立的王。 36 那时，你家存留下来的人要在他面前下拜，乞讨银子和饼，并恳求说，请给我一个祭司的职位以便糊口！’”

2 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2 There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
4 The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.
5 They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
6 The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
7 The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.
9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the Lord before Eli the priest.
12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord.
13 And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;
14 And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.
15 Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.
16 And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.
17 Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
18 But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
19 Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the Lord. And they went unto their own home.
21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord.
22 Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
23 And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
24 Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord's people to transgress.
25 If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them.
26 And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men.
27 And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?
28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?
29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
31 Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.
32 And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
33 And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
34 And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
36 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
