仆人当恭敬主人
6 凡在轭下做仆人的，当以自己主人配受十分的恭敬，免得神的名和道理被人亵渎。 2 仆人有信道的主人，不可因为与他是弟兄就轻看他，更要加意服侍他，因为得服侍之益处的，是信道蒙爱的。你要以此教训人，劝勉人。
当远避争论言辞的人
3 若有人传异教，不服从我们主耶稣基督纯正的话与那合乎敬虔的道理， 4 他是自高自大，一无所知，专好问难，争辩言辞，从此就生出嫉妒、纷争、毁谤、妄疑， 5 并那坏了心术、失丧真理之人的争竞。他们以敬虔为得利的门路。 6 然而，敬虔加上知足的心便是大利了。 7 因为我们没有带什么到世上来，也不能带什么去。 8 只要有衣有食，就当知足。
贪财是万恶之根
9 但那些想要发财的人，就陷在迷惑，落在网罗和许多无知有害的私欲里，叫人沉在败坏和灭亡中。 10 贪财是万恶之根。有人贪恋钱财，就被引诱离了真道，用许多愁苦把自己刺透了。
当持定永生
11 但你这属神的人要逃避这些事，追求公义、敬虔、信心、爱心、忍耐、温柔。 12 你要为真道打那美好的仗，持定永生；你为此被召，也在许多见证人面前已经作了那美好的见证。 13 我在叫万物生活的神面前，并在向本丢·彼拉多作过那美好见证的基督耶稣面前嘱咐你： 14 要守这命令，毫不玷污，无可指责，直到我们的主耶稣基督显现。 15 到了日期，那可称颂、独有权能的万王之王、万主之主， 16 就是那独一不死，住在人不能靠近的光里，是人未曾看见也是不能看见的，要将他显明出来。但愿尊贵和永远的权能都归给他！阿门。
劝人在好事上富足
17 你要嘱咐那些今世富足的人，不要自高，也不要倚靠无定的钱财，只要倚靠那厚赐百物给我们享受的神。 18 又要嘱咐他们行善，在好事上富足，甘心施舍，乐意供给[a]人， 19 为自己积成美好的根基，预备将来，叫他们持定那真正的生命。
20 提摩太啊，你要保守所托付你的，躲避世俗的虚谈和那敌真道、似是而非的学问。 21 已经有人自称有这学问，就偏离了真道。

6 Those who are under the yoke of slavery should regard their masters as worthy of full respect, so that the name of God and the teaching will not be brought into disrepute. 2 And those who have believing masters are not to show them less respect on the ground that they are brothers; on the contrary, they should serve all the more diligently, since those benefiting from their service are believers whom they love.
Teach and exhort people about these things. 3 If anyone teaches differently and does not agree to the sound precepts of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and to the doctrine that is in keeping with godliness, 4 he is swollen with conceit and understands nothing. Instead, he has a morbid desire for controversies and word-battles, out of which come jealousy, dissension, insults, evil suspicions, 5 and constant wrangling among people whose minds no longer function properly and who have been deprived of the truth, so that they imagine that religion is a road to riches. 6 Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are content with what they have. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world; and we can take nothing out of it; 8 so if we have food and clothing, we will be satisfied with these. 9 Furthermore, those whose goal is to be rich fall into temptation; they get trapped in many foolish and hurtful ambitions which plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all the evils; because of this craving, some people have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves to the heart with many pains.
11 But you, as a man of God, flee from these things; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you testified so well to your faith before many witnesses. 13 I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before the Messiah Yeshua, who in his witness to Pontius Pilate gave the same good testimony, 14 to obey your commission spotlessly and irreproachably until our Lord Yeshua the Messiah appears. 15 His appearing will be brought about in its own time by the blessed and sole Sovereign, who is King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal, who dwells in unapproachable light that no human being has ever seen or can see — to him be honor and eternal power. Amen.
17 As for those who do have riches in this present world, charge them not to be proud and not to let their hopes rest on the uncertainties of riches but to rest their hopes on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. 18 Charge them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share. 19 In this way they will treasure up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may lay hold of the real life.
20 Oh, Timothy! Keep safe what has been entrusted to you. Turn away from the ungodly babblings and the argumentative opposition of what is falsely called “knowledge.” 21 For many who promise this “knowledge” have missed the mark, as far as the faith is concerned. Grace be with you.

6 କ୍ରୀତଦାସମାନେ ନିଜ ମାଲିକକୁ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦେବା ଉଚିତ୍। ସେମାନେ ସେହିପରି କଲେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନାମ ଏବଂ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟିୟାନ ଉପଦେଶଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସମାଲୋଚିତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। 2 କେତେକ କ୍ରୀତଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ମାଲିକମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଅଟନ୍ତି। ଅତଏବ ସେହି ଦାସମାନେ ସେହି ମାଲିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭାଇ ବୋଲି ଭାବି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କମ୍ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦେଖାଇବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ। ଏପରିକି ସେହି ଦାସମାନେ ନିଜ ମାଲିକମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିକ ଭଲରେସେବା କରିବା ଉଚିତ୍। କାରଣ ସେହିପରି କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନେ ଭଲ ପାଉଥିବା ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରୁଛନ୍ତି।
ଭଣ୍ଡ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଓ ପ୍ରକୃତ ଧନ
3 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ବିଷୟ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେବା ଓ କହିବା ଉଚିତ୍। କେତେ ଲୋକ ଭଣ୍ଡ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେବେ। ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ସତ୍ୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା ସହିତ ଏକମତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସେବା କରିବାର ସତ୍ମାର୍ଗ ସହିତ ମିଳି ଯାଉଥିବା ଶିକ୍ଷା ସେମାନେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ; 4 ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଭଣ୍ଡ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଏ, ସେ ଗର୍ବୀ ଓ କିଛି ବୁଝି ନ ଥାଏ। ସେହି ଲୋକ ଶବ୍ଦର ଅର୍ଥକୁ ନେଇ ଯୁକ୍ତିତର୍କ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ଆଗ୍ରହୀ ହୋଇଥାଏ ଓ ସେ ବାଗ୍ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରେ। ଏଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଦ୍ୱାରା କଳି, ଈର୍ଷା, ଅପମାନ ଓ ସନ୍ଦେହ ଆସିଥାଏ। 5 ତାହା ମନ୍ଦ ମନ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସୀମାହୀନ ଯୁକ୍ତିତର୍କ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରେ। କୁତର୍କକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହା ଆମନ୍ତ୍ରିତ କରେ। ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ସତ୍ୟକୁ ହରାଇ ବସିଛନ୍ତି। ସେମାନେ ଭାବନ୍ତି ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସେବା କରିବା ହେଉଛି ଧନୀ ହେବାର ଏକ ଉପାୟ।
6 ଯଦି ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ତା’ ପାଖରେ ଯାହା ଅଛି, ସେତିକିରେ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ରହେ, ତା'ହେଲେ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସେବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେହି ଲୋକ ବହୁତ ଧନୀ ହୋଇଯାଏ। 7 ପୃଥିବୀକୁ ଆସିଲା ବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ କିଛି ଆଣି ନ ଥିଲୁ ଓ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ମରିଯିବା ଏଠାରୁ କିଛି ନେଇ ଯାଇ ପାରିବା ନାହିଁ। 8 ଅତଏବ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭର ଖାଇବା ଓ ପିନ୍ଧିବା ଜିନିଷ ଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେଥିରେ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ରହିବା। 9 ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଧନୀ ହେବାକୁ ଗ୍ଭହୁଁଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରଲୋଭନ ଫାନ୍ଦରେ ପଡ଼ି ଯାଆନ୍ତି। ଅନେକ ମୂର୍ଖତାପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ଦୁଃଖ ଦେଉଥିବା ବିଷୟ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଇଚ୍ଛା ପୋଷଣ କରନ୍ତି। ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରି ତଳିତଳାନ୍ତ କରିଦିଏ। 10 ଧନର ଲୋଭ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାର ମନ୍ଦର କାରଣ। ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଧନ ପାଇବା ଲୋଭରେ କେତେ ଲୋକ ସତ୍ୟ ବିଶ୍ୱାସକୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ସେହିପରି କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ଉପରକୁ ଅନେକ ଦୁଃଖ ଟାଣି ଆଣିଛନ୍ତି।
କେତୋଟି ମନେ ରଖିବା କଥା
11 କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜଣେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଲୋକ। ଅତଏବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହିସବୁ ବିଷୟଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ରହିବା କଥା। ଧାର୍ମିକ ଭାବରେ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର, ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଉପାସନା କର। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଜୀବନରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ, ପ୍ରେମ, ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ, ଭଦ୍ର ଆଚରଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର। 12 ବିଶ୍ୱାସକୁ ଧରି ରଖିବା ଗୋଟିଏ ଦୌଡ଼ ପ୍ରତିଯୋଗିତା ଭଳି। କୌଣସିମତେ ସେହି ପ୍ରତିଯୋଗିତା ଜିତିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର। ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଧାରଣ କର। ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସେଥିପାଇଁ ଡକା ଯାଇଛି। ଅନେକ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ମହାନ୍ ସତ୍ୟକୁ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିଛ। 13 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଓ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି ଆଦେଶ ଦେଉଛି। ପନ୍ତିୟ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁ ସେହି ଏକା ମହାନ୍ ସତ୍ୟଟିକୁ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିଥିଲେ। ଏକମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବିଷୟକୁ ଜୀବନ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି। 14 ଏବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହୁଛି: ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦିଆ ଯାଇଥିବା ଆଦେଶଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପାଳନ କର। ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ପୁନରାଗମନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେହି କାମଗୁଡ଼ିକ ନିର୍ଭୁଲ ଭାବରେ ଓ ଅନିନ୍ଦନୀୟ ଭାବରେ କର। 15 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ସମୟ ଆସିଲେ, ତାହା ସାଧନ କରିବେ। ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏକମାତ୍ର ପରମଧନ୍ୟ ସମ୍ରାଟ୍। ସେ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା ଓ ପ୍ରଭୁମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଭୁ। 16 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅମର ଅଟନ୍ତି। ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏତେ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ ପ୍ରକାଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରନ୍ତି ଯେ ଲୋକେ ତାହା ପାଖକୁ ଯାଇ ପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। କେହି କେବେ ହେଲେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ। କେହି କେବେ ହେଲେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ। କେହି କେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଖି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଗୌରବ ଓ ଶକ୍ତି ଅନନ୍ତକାଳ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଉ। ଆମେନ୍।
17 ଏହି ଆଦେଶ ସେହିମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଏ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ଧନୀ ଅଟନ୍ତି। ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗର୍ବ ନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ କୁହ। ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ ଯେ ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ଧନର ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନେବା ଉଚିତ୍। ଧନ ଉପରେ ଆସ୍ଥା ରଖ ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବସ୍ତୁ ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ପରିମାଣରେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି। ସେ ଭୋଗ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜିନିଷ ଦିଅନ୍ତି। 18 ଧନୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ ଯେ ସେମାନେ ଭଲ କାମ କରନ୍ତୁ। ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ ଯେ, ଭଲ କାମ କରିବାରେ ସେମାନେ ଧନୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ। 19 ସେହିପରି କରି ସେମାନେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଜମା ରଖିବେ। ସେହି ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ହେଉଛି ଦୃଢ଼ ମୂଳଦୁଆ ଯାହା ଉପରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଭବିଷ୍ୟତ୍ ଜୀବନ ଠିଆ ହୋଇପାରିବ। ତା'ହେଲେ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ଜୀବନର ଅଧିକାରୀ ହୋଇ ପାରିବେ।
20 ତୀମଥି, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ଅନେକ ବିଷୟର ଭାର ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ରଖିଥାଅ। ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ନ ଥିବା ଅସାର କଥା କହୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ରୁହ। ସତ୍ୟ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁକ୍ତିତର୍କ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ରୁହ। ଏହାକୁ ସେମାନେ ମିଛରେ “ଜ୍ଞାନ” ବୋଲି କହିଥା’ନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହା ପ୍ରକୃତ ଜ୍ଞାନ ନୁହେଁ। 21 କେତେ ଲୋକ କୁହନ୍ତି ଯେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି “ଜ୍ଞାନ” ଅଛି। ସେମାନେ ସତ୍ୟ ବିଶ୍ୱାସକୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ସାରିଛନ୍ତି।
ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ସହିତ ରହୁ।
