先知哀叹义人绝迹
7 我有祸了！
因为我好象夏天采摘的果子，又像摘剩的葡萄，
没有一挂可吃的，
也没有我心所想望早熟的无花果。
2 虔敬的人从地上灭绝了，
人间也没有正直的人，
人人都埋伏着要流人的血，
各人都用网罗猎取自己的兄弟。
3 他们双手善于作恶，
官长和审判官都要求报酬；
达官贵人说出心里的欲望；
他们歪曲了一切。
4 他们中最好的，也不过像荆棘，
最正直的，也不过是有刺的篱笆。
你的守望者所预言的日子，
和你被鉴察的时候，已经来到；
现在他们必要慌乱不安。
5 不可信靠邻舍，
也不可信任朋友，
要守住你的嘴唇，
不可向躺在你怀中的妻子透露。
6 儿子藐视父亲，
女儿抗拒母亲，
媳妇与婆婆作对；
人的仇敌就是自己的家人。
倚靠 神
7 至于我，我却要仰望耶和华，
我要等候那拯救我的 神；
我的 神必应允我。
8 我的仇敌啊！不要因我的遭遇而高兴；
我虽然跌倒了，却必起来；
我虽然坐在黑暗里，耶和华却必作我的光。
9 我要担当耶和华的忿怒，
因为我得罪了他，
直到他审断我的案件，为我主持公道；
他必把我领出来，到光明中去，
我就得见他的公义。
10 我的仇敌看见了，
就必蒙羞，就是那曾经对我说：
“耶和华你的 神在哪里”的人，
我必亲眼看见他遭报；
那时，他必被人践踏，
好象街上的泥土。
归向与复兴
11 必有一天，你要重建你的城墙；
到那日，你的地界必扩展到远方。
12 那日，必有人来归你，
从亚述到埃及，
从埃及到大河，
从这海到那海，从这山到那山，必有人来归你。
13 然而，大地因其中居民的缘故，
又因他们行为的恶果，必一片荒凉。
主乐意施恩
14 求你用你的杖牧放你的子民，
就是你产业的羊群，
他们安然独居在树林里，
在佳美的田园中；
愿他们在巴珊和基列得着牧养，
像古时一样。
15 就像你从埃及地出来的时候一样，
把奇事显给我们看（按照《马索拉文本》，“把奇事显给我们看”作“我必把奇事显给他看”）。
16 愿万国看见，
就为自己的一切势力而惭愧；
愿他们用手掩口，
耳朵变聋。
17 愿他们舔土像蛇，
又像在地上腹行的动物。
愿他们战战兢兢地从他们的要塞出来，
带着惊慌的心来到耶和华我们的 神那里，
因你的缘故而惧怕。
主赦免罪孽
18 有何神像你，赦免罪孽，
不追究产业之余民的过犯呢？
他不永远怀怒，
因为他喜爱怜悯。
19 他必再怜爱我们，
把我们的罪孽都践踏在脚下，
又把我们（按照《马索拉文本》，“我们”作“他们”；现参照其他抄本，《七十士译本》和其他古译本翻译）的一切罪恶都投在深海里。
20 你必向雅各显诚实，
向亚伯拉罕施慈爱，
就是古时，
你起誓应许我们列祖的。

American Standard Version
7 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; [a]my soul desireth the first-ripe fig. 2 The godly man is perished out of the earth, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. 3 [b]Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it together. 4 The best of them is as a brier; [c]the most upright is worse than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen, even thy visitation, is come; now shall be their perplexity. 5 Trust ye not in a neighbor; put ye not confidence in a [d]friend; keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 6 For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7 But as for me, [e]I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. 8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto me. 9 I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. 10 Then mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall see my desire upon her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. 11 [f]A day for building thy walls! in that day shall the [g]decree be far removed. 12 In that day shall they come unto thee from Assyria and the cities of [h]Egypt, and from [i]Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. 13 Yet shall the land be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14 [j]Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thy heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. 15 As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt will I show unto them marvellous things. 16 The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; they shall lay their hand upon their mouth; their ears shall be deaf. 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent; like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their close places; they shall come with fear unto Jehovah our God, and shall be afraid because of thee.
18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness. 19 He will again have compassion upon us; he will [k]tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 20 [l]Thou wilt [m]perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

7 Hélas ! Malheur à moi !
Parce que je ressemble ╵à celui qui viendrait ╵chercher des fruits en plein été[a],
à celui qui grappille ╵après les vendangeurs.
Mais il n’y a pas une grappe ╵que l’on pourrait manger,
et pas une figue nouvelle ╵dont j’ai si grande envie.
2 Non, il ne reste plus ╵dans le pays ╵d’hommes fidèles à l’Eternel,
plus personne n’est droit.
Tous guettent l’occasion ╵de répandre le sang
et chacun traque son prochain ╵en lui tendant un piège.
3 Pour commettre le mal, ╵leurs mains sont bien expertes.
Les dirigeants exigent des présents,
et les juges se déterminent ╵en fonction de ce qu’on les paie,
les grands émettent leurs avis ╵pour satisfaire leur avidité ;
ils font ainsi cause commune[b].
4 Le meilleur parmi eux ╵n’a pas plus de valeur ╵qu’un tas de ronces,
et le plus droit est pire ╵qu’un buisson d’épineux…
Le voici qui arrive, ╵le jour annoncé par tes sentinelles,
le jour où l’Eternel ╵va intervenir contre toi.
Alors, ╵ils seront consternés.
5 Ne vous fiez donc plus ╵à votre compagnon,
et n’ayez pas confiance ╵en votre ami ;
oui, même devant celle ╵qui dort entre tes bras,
garde tes lèvres closes !
6 Car le fils méprise son père,
la fille se révolte ╵contre sa propre mère,
comme la belle-fille ╵contre sa belle-mère,
et chacun a pour ennemis ╵les gens de sa famille[c].
7 Pour moi, je mets mon espérance ╵en l’Eternel,
je m’attends au Dieu qui me sauve,
et mon Dieu m’entendra.

8 Ne te réjouis pas ╵à mes dépens, ╵ô toi, mon ennemie[d],
car si je suis tombée, ╵je me relèverai.
Si je suis installée ╵dans les ténèbres,
l’Eternel est pour moi une lumière.
9 J’ai péché contre lui,
je supporterai donc ╵le poids de sa colère,
jusqu’à ce jour ╵où il prendra en main ma cause, ╵où il me fera droit,
et me fera sortir ╵à la lumière,
et je contemplerai son œuvre ╵qui établira la justice.
10 Alors mon ennemie ╵en sera le témoin,
et sera couverte de honte,
elle qui me disait :
« Où donc est l’Eternel ton Dieu ? »,
et je la verrai de mes yeux
être foulée aux pieds
comme la boue des rues.
11 Voici venir le jour ╵où l’on rebâtira ╵les murs de votre ville,
et voici, ce jour-là, ╵on repoussera tes frontières[e].
12 En ce jour te sera rendu ╵le territoire ╵que délimitent tes frontières[f],
de l’Assyrie jusqu’à l’Egypte,
et de l’Egypte jusqu’au fleuve,
et d’une mer à l’autre, ╵d’une montagne à l’autre.
13 Le reste de la terre ╵deviendra un désert ╵à cause de leurs habitants,
ce sera le salaire ╵de ses agissements.
Prière
14 Eternel, pais ton peuple ╵sous ta houlette !
C’est le troupeau qui t’appartient ;
il habite à l’écart ╵dans la forêt,
au milieu d’un terrain fertile[g].
Qu’il puisse paître ╵dans les prés du Basan
et du mont Galaad,
comme aux jours d’autrefois !
15 Comme au temps de jadis, ╵où tu sortis d’Egypte,
je te ferai voir des prodiges.
16 Les autres peuples le verront ╵et seront dans la confusion
malgré tout leur pouvoir.
Ils demeureront bouche close,
et ils seront abasourdis.
17 Ils devront lécher la poussière ╵tout comme le serpent
et comme les reptiles ;
ils sortiront, tremblant, ╵de leurs retranchements,
et se présenteront ╵devant l’Eternel, notre Dieu ;
tout terrifiés, ils te craindront.
18 Quel est le Dieu semblable à toi,
qui efface les fautes ╵et qui pardonne les péchés
du reste de ton peuple ╵qui t’appartient ?
Toi, tu n’entretiens pas ╵ta colère à jamais,
mais tu prends ton plaisir ╵à faire grâce.
19 Oui, de nouveau ╵tu auras compassion de nous,
tu piétineras nos péchés,
et au fond de la mer, ╵tu jetteras toutes nos fautes.
20 Tu témoigneras ta fidélité ╵au peuple de Jacob
et ta grâce aux descendants d’Abraham
comme tu l’as promis ╵aux temps anciens, à nos ancêtres.
