将有一君由犹大之伯利恒而出
5 成群的民[a]哪，现在你要聚集成队！因为仇敌围攻我们，要用杖击打以色列审判者的脸。
2 “伯利恒以法他啊，你在犹大诸城中为小，将来必有一位从你那里出来，在以色列中为我做掌权的。他的根源从亘古，从太初就有。” 3 耶和华必将以色列人交付敌人，直等那生产的妇人生下子来。那时，掌权者[b]其余的弟兄必归到以色列人那里。
国权日大至于地极
4 他必起来，倚靠耶和华的大能并耶和华他神之名的威严，牧养他的羊群。他们要安然居住，因为他必日见尊大，直到地极。 5 这位必做我们的平安。当亚述人进入我们的地境，践踏宫殿的时候，我们就立起七个牧者、八个首领攻击他。 6 他们必用刀剑毁坏亚述地和宁录地的关口。亚述人进入我们的地境践踏的时候，他必拯救我们。 7 雅各余剩的人必在多国的民中，如从耶和华那里降下的露水，又如甘霖降在草上；不仗赖人力，也不等候世人之功。
必获胜制敌
8 雅各余剩的人必在多国多民中，如林间百兽中的狮子，又如少壮狮子在羊群中。他若经过，就必践踏撕裂，无人搭救。 9 愿你的手举起高过敌人，愿你的仇敌都被剪除！
10 耶和华说：“到那日，我必从你中间剪除马匹，毁坏车辆。 11 也必从你国中除灭城邑，拆毁一切的保障。 12 又必除掉你手中的邪术，你那里也不再有占卜的。 13 我必从你中间除灭雕刻的偶像和柱像，你就不再跪拜自己手所造的。 14 我必从你中间拔出木偶，又毁灭你的城邑。 15 我也必在怒气和愤怒中，向那不听从的列国施报。”

耶和華的應許
5 耶路撒冷的居民[a]啊，
現在你們要調集軍隊！
敵人正四面圍攻我們，
要用杖擊打以色列首領的臉頰。
2 以法他的伯利恆啊，
你在猶大各城中毫不起眼，
但將有一位從你那裡出來，
為我統治以色列；
祂的根源自亙古，來自太初。
3 耶和華要將以色列人交給他們的敵人，
直到那臨盆的婦人生下兒子。
那時，祂流亡的弟兄將重返他們的以色列同胞那裡。
4 祂要挺身而起，
倚靠耶和華的能力，
奉祂上帝耶和華的威名牧養祂的群羊。
他們將安然居住，
因為那時祂必受尊崇，直達地極。
5 祂必給他們帶來平安！
亞述人侵略我們的國土、踐踏我們的宮殿時，
我們將選立七位牧者和八位首領抗擊他們。
6 他們要用刀劍統治亞述，統治寧錄地區。
亞述人侵入我們國境、踐踏我們疆土時，
祂必拯救我們。

11 我要摧毀你們境內的城邑，
拆除你們所有的堡壘。
12 我要除掉你們手中的巫術，
使你們那裡不再有占卜的。
13 我要從你們中間除去雕刻的神像和神柱，
使你們不再跪拜自己所造的。
14 我要從你們中間剷除亞舍拉神像，
毀滅你們的偶像。
15 我要在烈怒中報應那些不聽從我的國家。」

International Children’s Bible
5 So, strong city, gather your soldiers together.
We are surrounded and attacked.
The enemy will swing his club.
He will hit the leader of Israel in the face.
The Ruler to Be Born in Bethlehem
2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
are one of the smallest towns in Judah.
But from you will come one who will rule Israel for me.
He comes from very old times,
from days long ago.”
3 The Lord will leave his people in Babylon
until Jerusalem, who is in labor, gives birth to her children.
Then his brothers who are in captivity will return.
They will come back to the people of Israel living in Judah.
4 Then the ruler of Israel will stand
and take care of his people.
He will lead them with the Lord’s power.
He will lead them in the wonderful name of the Lord his God.
They will live in safety.
And his greatness will be known all over the earth.
5 He will bring peace.
Rescue and Punishment
The Assyrian army will come into our country.
They will destroy our large houses.
But we will choose seven or eight leaders.
They will shepherd our people.
6 They will destroy the Assyrians with their swords.
They will conquer the land of Assyria with their swords drawn.
The Assyrians will come into our land.
They will come within our borders.
But the leaders of Israel
will save us from them.
7 Then the people of Jacob who are left alive
will be like dew from the Lord to many people.
They will be like rain which does not wait for man.
They will be like showers which do not wait for human beings.
8 Those left alive of Jacob’s people
will be scattered among the nations.
They will be among many peoples.
They will be like a lion among the animals of the forest.
They will be like a young lion going through the flock.
He steps on what is in his way.
No one can save the nations from God’s people.
9 So you will raise your fist in victory over your enemies,
and you will destroy them.
10 The Lord says, “At that time,
I will take your horses from you.
I will destroy your chariots.
11 I will destroy the walled cities in your country.
I will tear down all your defenses.
12 You will no longer be able to do witchcraft.
You will not have anyone who can tell the future.
13 I will destroy your statues of false gods.
I will tear down the stone pillars you worship.
You will no longer worship
what your hands have made.
14 I will destroy the Asherah idols.
I will destroy your cities.
15 Some people won’t obey me.
I will show my anger and punish them.”
