主再來的先兆

2 弟兄姊妹，關於主耶穌基督再來和我們到祂那裡相聚的事情， ²我們現在奉勸你們：無論是什麼靈，或是傳聞，或是冒充我們寫的信，說主的日子已經到了，你們都不要輕易動搖，也不要驚慌。 ³不管別人用什麼詭計，你們都不要上當。因為那日子來臨之前，必有離經叛道的事發生，而那不法之徒，就是那註定滅亡的人也要出現。 ⁴他會抵擋主，高抬自己超過一切所謂的神明和人們崇拜的對象，甚至坐在上帝的殿中以上帝自居！

⁵我還在你們那裡的時候，曾告訴過你們這些事，你們忘記了嗎？ ⁶現在，你們知道是什麼攔阻他，使他等到特定的時間才出現。 ⁷其實那不法之徒的陰謀已經在醞釀中，然而現在有一位在攔阻他。等到攔阻他的那位一離開， ⁸他就會出現，但主耶穌會用自己口中的氣毀滅他，用從天降臨的榮光廢掉他。

⁹他來要按照撒旦的伎倆行各樣虛假的異能、神蹟和奇事， ¹⁰用盡各樣詭計欺騙那些將要滅亡的人，因為他們不喜歡接受那能拯救他們的真理。 ¹¹上帝就讓他們是非不辨，去相信那些虛假的謊言， ¹²使一切不相信真理、反喜愛不義的人都被定罪。

要堅定不移

¹³主所愛的弟兄姊妹，我們應該時常為你們感謝上帝，因為上帝一開始就揀選了你們，為了使你們藉著聖靈得以聖潔，並且相信真理，從而得救。 ¹⁴上帝藉著我們所傳的福音呼召了你們，使你們可以得到我們主耶穌基督的榮耀。 ¹⁵所以，各位弟兄姊妹，務要堅定不移，無論是我們信上的教導還是口頭的教導，你們都要堅守。

¹⁶願主耶穌基督和愛我們、開恩將永遠的安慰和美好的盼望賜給我們的父上帝， ¹⁷安慰你們的心，使你們在一切善行善言上剛強。

2 Thessalonians 2

2 ^1-2And now, what about the coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to meet him? Please don’t be upset and excited, dear brothers, by the rumor that this day of the Lord has already begun. If you hear of people having visions and special messages from God about this, or letters that are supposed to have come from me, don’t believe them. ³Don’t be carried away and deceived regardless of what they say.

For that day will not come until two things happen: first, there will be a time of great rebellion against God, and then the man of rebellion will come—the son of hell. ⁴He will defy every god there is and tear down every other object of adoration and worship. He will go in and sit as God in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God. ⁵Don’t you remember that I told you this when I was with you? ⁶And you know what is keeping him from being here already; for he can come only when his time is ready.

⁷As for the work this man of rebellion and hell will do when he comes, it is already going on,^[a] but he himself will not come until the one who is holding him back steps out of the way. ⁸Then this wicked one will appear, whom the Lord Jesus will burn up with the breath of his mouth and destroy by his presence when he returns. ⁹This man of sin will come as Satan’s tool, full of satanic power, and will trick everyone with strange demonstrations, and will do great miracles. ¹⁰He will completely fool those who are on their way to hell because they have said no to the Truth; they have refused to believe it and love it and let it save them, ¹¹so God will allow them to believe lies with all their hearts, ¹²and all of them will be justly judged for believing falsehood, refusing the Truth, and enjoying their sins.

¹³But we must forever give thanks to God for you, our brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose from the very first to give you salvation,^[b] cleansing you by the work of the Holy Spirit and by your trusting in the Truth. ¹⁴Through us he told you the Good News. Through us he called you to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵With all these things in mind, dear brothers, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the truth that we taught you in our letters and during the time we were with you.

¹⁶May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and hope, which we don’t deserve, ¹⁷comfort your hearts with all comfort, and help you in every good thing you say and do.

The Great Apostasy

2 Now, brethren, ^(A)concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ ^(B)and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, ²^(C)not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of ^[a]Christ had come. ³Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come ^(D)unless the falling away comes first, and ^(E)the man of ^[b]sin is revealed, ^(F)the son of perdition, ⁴who opposes and ^(G)exalts himself ^(H)above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits ^[c]as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

⁵Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? ⁶And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. ⁷For ^(I)the ^[d]mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only ^[e]He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. ⁸And then the lawless one will be revealed, ^(J)whom the Lord will consume ^(K)with the breath of His mouth and destroy ^(L)with the brightness of His coming. ⁹The coming of the lawless one is ^(M)according to the working of Satan, with all power, ^(N)signs, and lying wonders, ¹⁰and with all unrighteous deception among ^(O)those who perish, because they did not receive ^(P)the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹And ^(Q)for this reason God will send them strong delusion, ^(R)that they should believe the lie, ¹²that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but ^(S)had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Stand Fast

¹³But we are ^[f]bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God ^(T)from the beginning ^(U)chose you for salvation ^(V)through ^[g]sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴to which He called you by our gospel, for ^(W)the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁵Therefore, brethren, ^(X)stand fast and hold ^(Y)the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our ^[h]epistle.

¹⁶Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, ^(Z)who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and ^(AA)good hope by grace, ¹⁷comfort your hearts ^(AB)and ^[i]establish you in every good word and work.
