1 我保罗同西拉和提摩太写信给帖撒罗尼迦属于我们父上帝和主耶稣基督的教会。
2 愿我们的父上帝和主耶稣基督赐给你们恩典和平安！
感恩与劝勉
3 弟兄姊妹，我们应当为你们常常感谢上帝，这是合宜的，因为你们的信心不断增长，彼此相爱的心也不断增加。 4 因此，我们在上帝的众教会中夸奖你们在各种迫害和患难中的坚忍和信心。 5 你们这种表现正是上帝公义审判的明证，使你们配进上帝的国，你们正在为这国受苦。
6 上帝是公义的，祂必以患难来报应那些迫害你们的人。 7 当主耶稣和祂大能的天使在烈焰中从天上显现时，祂必使你们这些受苦的人和我们同得安慰， 8 惩罚那些不认识上帝、不听从有关我们主耶稣之福音的人。 9 那些人要受的刑罚就是离开主的面和祂荣耀的权能，永远灭亡。 10 主降临的那日，祂要在祂的众圣徒中得到荣耀，使所有的信徒惊叹不已。你们也会在当中，因为你们相信了我们做的见证。
11 因此，我们常常为你们祷告，愿我们的上帝看你们配得祂的呼召，用大能成全你们一切美好的心愿和凭信心所做的工作。 12 这样，按照我们的上帝和主耶稣基督所赐的恩典，主耶稣基督的名便在你们身上得到荣耀，你们也在祂身上得到荣耀。

1 保羅、西拉和提摩太，寫信給帖撒羅尼迦、在我們的父 神和主耶穌基督裡的教會。 2 願恩惠平安從父 神和主耶穌基督臨到你們。
主再來時必施行審判
3 弟兄們，我們應該常常為你們感謝 神，這是合適的。因為你們的信心格外長進，你們眾人彼此相愛的心也在增加。 4 所以我們在 神的眾教會裡，親自誇獎你們，因為你們在所受的一切迫害患難中，仍然存著堅忍和信心。 5 這正是 神公義判斷的明證，使你們可以算是配得上他的國；你們也是為了 神的國而受苦。 6-7 神既然是公義的，主耶穌和他有能力的天使從天上顯現在火燄中的時候，就使你們這些受災難的人，可以和我們同享安息；卻以災難報應那些把災難加給你們的人。 8 又要報應那些不認識 神、不聽從我們主耶穌的福音的人。 9-10 當主來的時候，他們要受永遠沉淪的懲罰，就是離開主的面和他權能的榮光。在那一天，他要在聖徒身上得著榮耀，又要在所有信徒身上受到尊崇（你們也在他們當中，因為你們信了我們向你們所作的見證）。 11 因此，我們常常為你們禱告，願我們的 神看你們是配得上所蒙的召，又用大能成就你們所羨慕的一切良善和信心的工作， 12 使我們主耶穌的名，照著我們的 神和主耶穌基督的恩，在你們身上得著榮耀，你們也在他身上得著榮耀。

1 Paul, Silas[a](A) and Timothy,(B)
To the church of the Thessalonians(C) in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(D)
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 We ought always to thank God for you,(E) brothers and sisters,[b] and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.(F) 4 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast(G) about your perseverance and faith(H) in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.(I)
5 All this is evidence(J) that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy(K) of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. 6 God is just:(L) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you(M) 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven(N) in blazing fire(O) with his powerful angels.(P) 8 He will punish(Q) those who do not know God(R) and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.(S) 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction(T) and shut out from the presence of the Lord(U) and from the glory of his might(V) 10 on the day(W) he comes to be glorified(X) in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.(Y)
11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you,(Z) that our God may make you worthy(AA) of his calling,(AB) and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness(AC) and your every deed prompted by faith.(AD) 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you,(AE) and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.[c]

The Second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians
1 3 He commendeth the increase of faith and charity, 4 and the patience of the Thessalonians: 6 And describing God’s vengeance against such as oppress the godly, 10 he teacheth the godly to wait for the last judgment.
1 Paul and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the Church of the Thessalonians, which is in God our Father, and in the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 (A)[a]We ought to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith [b]groweth exceedingly, and the love of every one of you toward another, aboundeth,
4 So that we ourselves rejoice of you in the Churches of God, because of your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye suffer.
5 (B)[c]Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for the which ye also suffer.
6 [d]For it is a righteous thing with God, to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you,
7 And to you which are troubled, rest [e]with us, (C)[f]when the Lord Jesus shall show himself from heaven with his mighty Angels,
8 In flaming fire, rendering vengeance unto them, [g]that do not know God, and which obey not unto the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,
9 Which shall be punished with everlasting perdition from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power,
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his Saints, and to be made marvelous in all them that believe ([h]because our testimony toward you was believed) in that day.
11 [i]Wherefore, we also pray always for you, that our God may make you worthy of [j]this calling, and fulfill [k]all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the [l]work of faith with power.
12 That the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And we go to it, by certain degrees of causes: first by the free love and good pleasure of God, by virtue whereof all other inferior causes work: from thence proceedeth the free calling to Christ, and from calling, faith, whereupon followeth both the glorifying of Christ in us, and us in Christ.
- 2 Thessalonians 1:11 By (calling) he meaneth not the very act of calling, but that selfsame thing whereunto we are called, which is the glory of that heavenly kingdom.
