2 我們常常為你們眾人感謝 神，禱告的時候提到你們， 3 在我們的父 神面前，不住地記念你們信心的工作，愛心的勞苦和因盼望我們主耶穌基督而有的堅忍。 4 神所愛的弟兄們，我們知道你們是蒙揀選的， 5 因為我們的福音傳到你們那裡，不單是藉著言語，也是藉著權能，藉著聖靈和充足的信心。為了你們的緣故，我們在你們中間為人怎樣，這是你們知道的。 6 你們效法了我們，也效法了主，在大患難中，帶著聖靈的喜樂接受了真道。 7 這樣，你們就成了馬其頓和亞該亞所有信徒的榜樣。 8 因為不單主的道從你們那裡傳遍了馬其頓和亞該亞，就是你們對 神的信心也傳遍了各處，所以我們不用再說甚麼了。 9 他們都述說你們是怎樣接待我們，而且怎樣離棄偶像歸向 神，要服事這位又真又活的 神， 10 並且等候他的兒子從天降臨。這就是 神使他從死人中復活，救我們脫離將來的忿怒的那位耶穌。

1 Paul, Silva′nus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalo′nians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace.
The Thessalonians’ Faith and Example
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you; 5 for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with joy inspired by the Holy Spirit; 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedo′nia and in Acha′ia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedo′nia and Acha′ia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
