2 我们常常为你们众人感谢 神，祷告的时候提到你们， 3 在我们的父 神面前，不住地记念你们信心的工作，爱心的劳苦和因盼望我们主耶稣基督而有的坚忍。 4 神所爱的弟兄们，我们知道你们是蒙拣选的， 5 因为我们的福音传到你们那里，不单是借着言语，也是借着权能，借着圣灵和充足的信心。为了你们的缘故，我们在你们中间为人怎样，这是你们知道的。 6 你们效法了我们，也效法了主，在大患难中，带着圣灵的喜乐接受了真道。 7 这样，你们就成了马其顿和亚该亚所有信徒的榜样。 8 因为不单主的道从你们那里传遍了马其顿和亚该亚，就是你们对 神的信心也传遍了各处，所以我们不用再说甚么了。 9 他们都述说你们是怎样接待我们，而且怎样离弃偶像归向 神，要服事这位又真又活的 神， 10 并且等候他的儿子从天降临。这就是 神使他从死人中复活，救我们脱离将来的忿怒的那位耶稣。

2 Vi tackar alltid Gud för er alla när vi nämner er i våra böner, 3 ty inför vår Gud och Fader tänker vi ständigt på er gärning i tron, ert arbete i kärleken och er uthållighet i hoppet till vår Herre Jesus Kristus. 4 Vi vet att ni bröder, Guds älskade, är utvalda av Gud. 5 Ty vårt evangelium kom till er inte bara i ord utan i kraft och den helige Ande och gav full visshet. Ni vet ju hur vi uppträdde bland er och vad vi gjorde för er. 6 Och ni blev våra efterföljare, ja, Herrens, när ni mitt under svåra lidanden tog emot ordet med den glädje som den helige Ande ger. 7 Så har ni blivit ett föredöme för alla troende i Makedonien och i Akaja. 8 Ty från er har Herrens ord gett återljud, inte bara i Makedonien och Akaja, utan överallt har er tro på Gud blivit känd, så att vi inte behöver säga något. 9 Själva berättar de om hur vi blev mottagna av er och hur ni omvände er till Gud, bort från avgudarna, för att tjäna den levande och sanne Guden 10 och vänta på hans Son från himlen, honom som Gud har uppväckt från de döda, Jesus, som har frälst oss från den kommande vredesdomen.

1 Paul, Silas, and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Thessalonians’ Faith and Example
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patient hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of God and our Father.
4 For we know, beloved brothers, your election by God. 5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, just as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. 6 You became followers of us and the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit. 7 Therefore you were examples to all who believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord sounded out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we do not need to say anything. 9 For they themselves declare how we were received by you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.
