当竭力进到完全的地步
6 所以，我们应当离开基督道理的开端，竭力进到完全的地步，不必再立根基，就如那懊悔死行、信靠神、 2 各样洗礼、按手之礼、死人复活，以及永远审判各等教训。 3 神若许我们，我们必如此行。 4 论到那些已经蒙了光照，尝过天恩的滋味，又于圣灵有份， 5 并尝过神善道的滋味，觉悟来世权能的人， 6 若是离弃道理，就不能叫他们重新懊悔了。因为他们把神的儿子重钉十字架，明明地羞辱他。 7 就如一块田地，吃过屡次下的雨水，生长菜蔬，合乎耕种的人用，就从神得福； 8 若长荆棘和蒺藜，必被废弃，近于咒诅，结局就是焚烧。
当效法承受应许之人
9 亲爱的弟兄们，我们虽是这样说，却深信你们的行为强过这些，而且近乎得救。 10 因为神并非不公义，竟忘记你们所做的工和你们为他名所显的爱心，就是：先前伺候圣徒，如今还是伺候。 11 我们愿你们各人都显出这样的殷勤，使你们有满足的指望，一直到底； 12 并且不懈怠，总要效法那些凭信心和忍耐承受应许的人。
务要持定面前的指望
13 当初神应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大可以指着起誓的，就指着自己起誓，说： 14 “论福，我必赐大福给你；论子孙，我必叫你的子孙多起来。” 15 这样，亚伯拉罕既恒久忍耐，就得了所应许的。 16 人都是指着比自己大的起誓，并且以起誓为实据，了结各样的争论。 17 照样，神愿意为那承受应许的人格外显明他的旨意是不更改的，就起誓为证。 18 借这两件不更改的事——神决不能说谎——好叫我们这逃往避难所、持定摆在我们前头指望的人可以大得勉励。 19 我们有这指望，如同灵魂的锚，又坚固又牢靠，且通入幔内； 20 做先锋的耶稣既照着麦基洗德的等次成了永远的大祭司，就为我们进入幔内。

6 Por eso, dejando a un lado las enseñanzas elementales acerca de Cristo, avancemos hacia la madurez. No volvamos a poner los fundamentos, tales como el arrepentimiento de las obras que conducen a la muerte, la fe en Dios, 2 la enseñanza sobre bautismos, la imposición de manos, la resurrección de los muertos y el juicio eterno. 3 Así procederemos, si Dios lo permite.
4 Porque es imposible que aquellos que han sido una vez iluminados, que han saboreado el don celestial, que han tenido parte en el Espíritu Santo, 5 que han experimentado la buena palabra de Dios y los poderes del mundo venidero, 6 pero después de todo esto se han apartado, renueven su arrepentimiento. Pues así, para su propio mal, vuelven a crucificar al Hijo de Dios y lo exponen a la vergüenza pública.
7 Cuando la tierra bebe la lluvia que con frecuencia cae sobre ella y produce una buena cosecha para los que la cultivan, recibe bendición de Dios. 8 En cambio, cuando produce espinos y cardos, no vale nada; está a punto de ser maldecida y acabará por ser quemada.
9 En cuanto a ustedes, queridos hermanos, aunque nos expresamos así, estamos seguros de que les espera lo mejor, es decir, lo que atañe a la salvación. 10 Porque Dios no es injusto como para olvidarse de las obras y del amor que en su nombre ustedes han demostrado sirviendo a los creyentes, como lo siguen haciendo. 11 Deseamos, sin embargo, que cada uno de ustedes siga mostrando ese mismo empeño hasta la realización final y completa de su esperanza. 12 No sean apáticos; más bien, imiten a quienes por su fe y paciencia heredan las promesas.

13 Cuando Dios hizo su promesa a Abraham, como no tenía a nadie superior por quien jurar, juró por sí mismo 14 y dijo: «Te bendeciré en gran manera y multiplicaré tu descendencia».[a] 15 Y así, después de esperar con paciencia, Abraham recibió lo que se le había prometido.
16 La gente jura por alguien superior a sí misma, y el juramento, al confirmar lo que se ha dicho, pone punto final a toda discusión. 17 Por eso Dios, queriendo demostrar claramente a los herederos de la promesa que su propósito nunca cambia, confirmó con un juramento esa promesa. 18 Lo hizo así para que, mediante la promesa y el juramento, que son dos realidades que nunca cambian y en las cuales es imposible que Dios mienta, tengamos un estímulo poderoso los que, buscando refugio, nos aferramos a la esperanza que está delante de nosotros. 19 Tenemos como firme y segura ancla del alma una esperanza que penetra hasta detrás de la cortina del santuario, 20 hasta donde Jesús entró por nosotros para abrirnos camino, llegando a ser sumo sacerdote para siempre, según el orden de Melquisedec.

The Peril of Not Progressing
6 Therefore, (A)leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to [a]perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from (B)dead works and of faith toward God, 2 (C)of the doctrine of baptisms, (D)of laying on of hands, (E)of resurrection of the dead, (F)and of eternal judgment. 3 And this [b]we will do if God permits.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted (G)the heavenly gift, and (H)have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 [c]if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, (I)since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, (J)receives blessing from God; 8 (K)but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
A Better Estimate
9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. 10 For (L)God is not unjust to forget (M)your work and [d]labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have (N)ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence (O)to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become [e]sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience (P)inherit the promises.
God’s Infallible Purpose in Christ
13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, (Q)He swore by Himself, 14 saying, (R)“Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the (S)promise. 16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and (T)an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. 17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to (U)the heirs of promise (V)the [f]immutability of His counsel, [g]confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two [h]immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to (W)lie, we [i]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope (X)set before us.
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, (Y)and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 (Z)where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, (AA)having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

6 Let us go forward, then, to mature teaching and leave behind us the first lessons of the Christian message. We should not lay again the foundation of turning away from useless works and believing in God; 2 of the teaching about baptisms[a] and the laying on of hands; of the resurrection of the dead and the eternal judgment. 3 Let us go forward! And this is what we will do, if God allows.
4 For how can those who abandon their faith be brought back to repent again? They were once in God's light; they tasted heaven's gift and received their share of the Holy Spirit; 5 they knew from experience that God's word is good, and they had felt the powers of the coming age. 6 And then they abandoned their faith! It is impossible to bring them back to repent again, because they are again crucifying the Son of God and exposing him to public shame.
7 God blesses the soil which drinks in the rain that often falls on it and which grows plants that are useful to those for whom it is cultivated. 8 (A)But if it grows thorns and weeds, it is worth nothing; it is in danger of being cursed by God and will be destroyed by fire.
9 But even if we speak like this, dear friends, we feel sure about you. We know that you have the better blessings that belong to your salvation. 10 God is not unfair. He will not forget the work you did or the love you showed for him in the help you gave and are still giving to other Christians. 11 Our great desire is that each of you keep up your eagerness to the end, so that the things you hope for will come true. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and are patient, and so receive what God has promised.
God's Sure Promise
13 When God made his promise to Abraham, he made a vow to do what he had promised. Since there was no one greater than himself, he used his own name when he made his vow. 14 (B)He said, “I promise you that I will bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 Abraham was patient, and so he received what God had promised. 16 When we make a vow, we use the name of someone greater than ourselves, and the vow settles all arguments. 17 To those who were to receive what he promised, God wanted to make it very clear that he would never change his purpose; so he added his vow to the promise. 18 There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us. 19 (C)We have this hope as an anchor for our lives. It is safe and sure, and goes through the curtain of the heavenly temple into the inner sanctuary. 20 (D)On our behalf Jesus has gone in there before us and has become a high priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.[b]
