基督不荣耀自己
5 凡从人间挑选的大祭司，是奉派替人办理属神的事，为要献上礼物和赎罪祭[a]。 2 他能体谅那愚蒙的和失迷的人，因为他自己也是被软弱所困。 3 故此，他理当为百姓和自己献祭赎罪。 4 这大祭司的尊荣没有人自取，唯要蒙神所召，像亚伦一样。 5 如此，基督也不是自取荣耀做大祭司，乃是在乎向他说“你是我的儿子，我今日生你”的那一位， 6 就如经上又有一处说：“你是照着麦基洗德的等次永远为祭司。”
因苦难学了顺从
7 基督在肉体的时候既大声哀哭，流泪祷告，恳求那能救他免死的主，就因他的虔诚蒙了应允。 8 他虽然为儿子，还是因所受的苦难学了顺从。 9 他既得以完全，就为凡顺从他的人成了永远得救的根源， 10 并蒙神照着麦基洗德的等次称他为大祭司。
11 论到麦基洗德，我们有好些话，并且难以解明，因为你们听不进去。 12 看你们学习的工夫，本该做师傅，谁知还得有人将神圣言小学的开端另教导你们，并且成了那必须吃奶、不能吃干粮的人！ 13 凡只能吃奶的，都不熟练仁义的道理，因为他是婴孩。 14 唯独长大成人的才能吃干粮，他们的心窍习练得通达，就能分辨好歹了。

5 每一个大祭司都是从人间选出来，奉派替人办理与 神有关的事，为的是要献上礼物和赎罪的祭物。 2 他能够温和地对待那些无知和迷误的人，因为他自己也被软弱所困。 3 因此，他怎样为人民的罪献祭，也应该怎样为自己的罪献祭。 4 没有人可以自己取得这大祭司的尊荣，只有像亚伦一样，蒙 神选召的才可以。
5 照样，基督也没有自己争取作大祭司的尊荣，而是曾经对他说：
“你是我的儿子，
我今日生了你”
的 神荣耀了他； 6 就像他在另一处说：
“你是照着麦基洗德的体系，
永远作祭司的。”
7 基督在世的时候，曾经流泪大声祷告恳求那位能救他脱离死亡的 神；因着他的敬虔，就蒙了应允。 8 他虽然是儿子，还是因着所受的苦难学会了顺从。 9 他既然顺从到底（“他既然顺从到底”或译：“他既然达到完全”），就成了所有顺从他的人得到永远救恩的根源； 10 而且蒙 神照着麦基洗德的体系，称他为大祭司。
劝勉信徒要长大成人
11 论到这些事，我们有很多话要说，可是很难解释；因为你们已经迟钝了，听不进去。 12 到这个时候，你们应该已经作老师了；可是你们还需要有人再把 神道理的初步教导你们。你们成了只能吃奶而不能吃干粮的人！ 13 凡是吃奶的，还是个婴孩，对公义的道理没有经历； 14 只有长大成人的，才能吃干粮，他们的官能因为操练纯熟，就能分辨是非了。

5 从人间选出来的大祭司，都是受委任代表人办理与上帝有关的事，为人的罪向上帝献上礼物和赎罪祭。 2 他能体谅那些无知和迷失的人，因为他自己也有人性的软弱。 3 所以，他不但要为众人的罪献祭，也要为自己的罪献祭。 4 没有人能自取这大祭司的尊荣，只有像亚伦一样蒙上帝呼召的人才可以做大祭司。
5 同样，基督也没有自取荣耀做大祭司，是上帝对祂说：
“你是我的儿子，
我今日成为你父亲。”
6 在圣经的另一处，上帝又说：
“你照麦基洗德的模式永远做祭司。”
7 基督在世为人的时候，曾经声泪俱下地祈求能救祂脱离死亡的上帝。祂因为敬虔而蒙了应允。 8 基督虽然是上帝的儿子，仍然从所受的苦难中学习了顺服。 9 祂既然达到了纯全的地步，就成了永恒救恩的源头，使所有顺服祂的人都得到拯救。 10 上帝照着麦基洗德的模式立祂做大祭司。
信徒要长进
11 关于这方面的事，我们还有很多话要说，但因为你们已经听不进去，很难向你们解释。 12 按你们学习的时间来算，你们本该做别人的老师了，可惜你们还需要别人向你们传授上帝话语的基本道理，成了不能吃干粮、只能吃奶的人。 13 因为只能吃奶的人还是婴孩，不熟习仁义的道理。 14 干粮是给成年人吃的，他们的心思历经锻炼，能够分辨善恶。

5 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
