耶稣比摩西更尊贵
3 因此，同蒙天召的圣洁的弟兄啊！你们应该想想耶稣，就是作使徒、作我们所宣认的大祭司的那一位。 2 他忠于那位委派他的，好象摩西在 神的全家尽忠一样。 3 他比摩西配得更大的荣耀，好象建造房屋的人比房屋配得更大的尊贵一样。 4 因为每一间房屋都是人建造的，只有万物是 神建造的。 5 摩西不过是个仆人，在 神的全家尽忠，为以后要传讲的事作证； 6 但是基督却是儿子，管理自己的家。如果我们把坦然无惧的心和可夸的盼望持守到底，我们就是他的家了。
以色列人因不信得不到安息
7 所以，就像圣灵所说的：
“如果你们今天听从他的声音，
8 就不要硬着心，
好象在旷野惹他发怒、
试探他的日子一样；
9 在那里，你们的祖先以试验来试探我，
观看我的作为有四十年之久。
10 所以，我向那个世代的人发怒，说：‘他们心里常常迷误，
不认识我的道路。’
11 我就在烈怒中起誓，说：
‘他们绝不可进入我的安息。’”
12 弟兄们，你们要小心，免得你们中间有人存着邪恶、不信的心，以致离弃了永活的 神； 13 趁着还有叫作“今天”的时候，总要天天互相劝勉，免得你们中间有人受了罪恶的诱惑，心里就刚硬了。 14 如果我们把起初的信念坚持到底，就是有分于基督的人了。 15 经上说：
“如果你们今天听从他的声音，
就不要硬着心，
像惹他发怒的时候一样。”
16 那时，听了他的话而惹他发怒的是谁呢？不就是摩西从埃及领出来的那些人吗？ 17 四十年之久， 神向谁发怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陈尸旷野的人吗？ 18 他又向谁起誓说，他们绝对不可以进入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不顺从的人吗？ 19 这样看来，他们不能进入安息，是因为不信的缘故。

耶穌超越摩西
3 因此，同蒙天召的聖潔的弟兄姊妹，你們應當仔細思想那位我們公認為特使和大祭司的耶穌。 2 祂向委任祂的上帝盡忠，就好像摩西向上帝的全家盡忠一樣。 3 然而祂卻比摩西配得更大的榮耀，因為建造房子的人當然比房子更尊貴。 4 所有的房子都有建造者，但建造萬物的是上帝。 5 摩西以僕人的身分向上帝的全家盡忠，為將來要宣告的事做見證。 6 但基督是以兒子的身分忠心治理上帝的家。我們若堅強勇敢，持定引以為榮的盼望，我們就是祂的家了。
不可存剛硬的心
7 因此，正如聖靈說：
「你們今天若聽見祂的聲音，
8 不可心裡頑固，
像從前在曠野試探祂、悖逆祂一樣。
9 當時，你們的祖先試我、探我，
觀看我的作為達四十年之久。
10 所以，我向那世代的人發怒，
說，『他們總是執迷不悟，
不認識我的道路。』
11 我就在憤怒中起誓說，
『他們絕不可進入我的安息。』」
12 弟兄姊妹，要謹慎，免得你們當中有人心存惡念，不肯相信，背棄了永活的上帝。 13 趁著還有今日，要天天互相勸勉，免得有人被罪迷惑，心裡變得剛硬。 14 如果我們將起初的信念堅持到底，便在基督裡有份了。
15 聖經上說：
「你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，
不可像從前那樣硬著心悖逆祂。」
16 聽見祂的聲音卻又悖逆祂的是誰呢？不就是摩西從埃及領出來的那些人嗎？ 17 四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？ 18 上帝起誓不准誰進入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信從的人嗎？ 19 可見，他們不能進入上帝的安息是因為不信的緣故。

3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

3 Cho nên thưa các anh chị em thánh là người được Thượng Đế kêu gọi, hãy nhớ tới Chúa Giê-xu, Đấng được sai đến với chúng ta và làm thầy tế lễ tối cao cho đức tin của chúng ta. 2 Chúa Giê-xu trung tín với Thượng Đế là Đấng chọn Ngài làm thầy tế lễ tối cao như Mô-se trung tín trong gia đình Thượng Đế. 3 Chúa Giê-xu cao trọng hơn Mô-se, cũng như thợ xây nhà cao trọng hơn cái nhà. 4 Bất cứ nhà nào cũng phải có thợ xây, nhưng thợ tạo nên mọi loài là Thượng Đế. 5 Mô-se trung tín trong gia đình Thượng Đế như một tôi tớ. Ông thuật lại lời Thượng Đế sẽ phán trong tương lai. 6 Nhưng Chúa Cứu Thế trung tín như con trung tín trong nhà cha mình. Chúng ta là nhà của Thượng Đế nếu chúng ta giữ lòng can đảm và nắm chắc vào hi vọng lớn lao của chúng ta.
Chúng ta phải tiếp tục theo Chúa
7 Cho nên như Thánh Linh phán:
“Ngày nay khi nghe tiếng Ngài phán,
8 thì đừng ương ngạnh như tổ tiên các ngươi xưa kia
khi họ phản nghịch Thượng Đế
và thách thức Ngài trong sa mạc.
9 Nơi đó họ thử ta và thách thức ta
mặc dù đã thấy những điều ta làm trong bốn mươi năm.
10 Ta nổi giận cùng họ.
Ta bảo, ‘Ý tưởng chúng nó luôn luôn lầm lạc
chúng không hề hiểu biết đường lối ta.’
11 Ta nổi giận và cam kết rằng,
‘Chúng nó sẽ không bao giờ
được vào sự an nghỉ [a] ta.’” (A)
12 Cho nên thưa anh chị em, hãy thận trọng đừng ai có lòng độc ác, chẳng tin, quay khỏi Thượng Đế hằng sống. 13 Nhưng hằng ngày hãy khích lệ giục giã nhau trong khi còn gọi là “ngày nay.” [b] Hãy giúp nhau để không ai trong anh chị em cứng lòng vì bị tội lỗi phỉnh gạt. 14 Chúng ta cùng dự phần trong Chúa Cứu Thế nếu chúng ta bền giữ cho đến cuối cùng đức tin mà chúng ta có từ ban đầu. 15 Đây là lời Thánh Kinh dạy:
“Ngày nay khi nghe lời Ngài phán

Jesus Greater Than Moses
3 Therefore, holy brothers,[a] you who share in (A)a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, (B)the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, (C)just as Moses also was faithful in all God's[b] house. 3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but (D)the builder of all things is God.) 5 (E)Now Moses was faithful in all God's house (F)as a servant, (G)to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as (H)a son. And (I)we are his house, if indeed we (J)hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.[c]
A Rest for the People of God
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
(K)“Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for (L)forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.’
11 (M)As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest.’”
12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from (N)the living God. 13 But (O)exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by (P)the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, (Q)if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said,
(R)“Today, if you hear his voice,

16 For (S)who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not (T)all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, (U)whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that (V)they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that (W)they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
