专一注视耶稣
12 所以，我们既然有这么多的见证人，像云彩围绕着我们，就应该脱下各样的拖累，和容易缠住我们的罪，以坚忍的心奔跑那摆在我们面前的赛程； 2 专一注视耶稣，就是那位信心的创造者和完成者。他因为那摆在面前的喜乐，就忍受了十字架，轻看了羞辱，现在就坐在 神宝座的右边。 3 这位忍受罪人那样顶撞的耶稣，你们要仔细思想，免得疲倦灰心。
主必管教他所爱的
4 你们与罪恶斗争，还没有对抗到流血的地步； 5 你们又忘记了那劝你们好象劝儿子的话，说：
“我儿！你不可轻看主的管教，
受责备的时候也不要灰心；
6 因为主所爱的，他必管教，
他又鞭打所收纳的每一个儿子。”
7 为了接受管教，你们要忍受，因为 神待你们好象待儿子一样；哪有儿子不受父亲管教的呢？ 8 作儿子的都受过管教。如果你们没有受管教，就是私生子，不是儿子了。 9 还有，肉身的父亲管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们；何况那万灵的父，我们不是更要顺服他而得生吗？ 10 肉身的父亲照着自己的意思管教我们，只有短暂的日子；唯有 神管教我们，是为着我们的好处，使我们在他的圣洁上有分。 11 但是一切管教，在当时似乎不觉得快乐，反觉得痛苦；后来却为那些经过这种操练的人，结出平安的果子来，就是义。
把下垂的手发软的腿挺起来
12 所以，你们要把下垂的手和发软的腿挺直起来； 13 也要把你们所走的道路修直，使瘸子不至于扭脚，反而得到复原。 14 你们要竭力寻求与众人和睦，并且要竭力追求圣洁。如果没有圣洁，谁也不能见主。 15 你们要小心，免得有人失去了 神的恩典；免得有苦根长起来缠绕你们，因而污染了许多人； 16 又免得有人成为淫乱的和贪恋世俗的，好象以扫一样，为了一点点食物，竟把自己长子的名分出卖了。 17 你们知道，后来以扫想要承受祝福，却被拒绝了；他虽然带着眼泪寻求，还是没有反悔的余地。
不可违背那警戒人的 神
18 你们不是来到那座摸得着的山。那里有烈火、密云、幽暗、暴风、 19 号筒的响声和说话的声音；那些听见这声音的人，都请求 神不要再向他们多说话； 20 因为他们担当不起那命令：“就是走兽挨近这山，也要用石头把牠打死。” 21 当时，显出的景象是那么可怕，连摩西也说：“我非常恐惧战兢。” 22 你们却是来到锡安山和永活的 神的城，就是天上的耶路撒冷；在那里有千万的天使聚集， 23 有名字登记在天上众长子的教会，有审判众人的 神，有被成全的义人的灵魂， 24 有新约的中保耶稣，还有他所洒的血。这血所传的信息比亚伯的血所传的更美。
25 你们要谨慎，不要弃绝那位说话的，因为从前的人弃绝了那位在地上警戒他们的，尚且不能逃罪；何况现在我们背弃那位从天上警戒我们的呢？ 26 当时他的声音震动了地；现在他却应许说：“下一次，我不但要震动地，还要震动天。” 27 “下一次”这句话，是表明那些被震动的，要像被造之物那样被除去，好使那些不能震动的可以留存， 28 因此，我们既然领受了不能震动的国，就应该感恩，照着 神所喜悦的，用虔诚敬畏的心事奉他； 29 因为我们的 神是烈火。

परमेश्वर अपने पुत्रों को सिधाता है
12 क्योंकि हम साक्षियों की ऐसी इतनी बड़ी भीड़ से घिरे हुए हैं, जो हमें विश्वास का अर्थ क्या है इस की साक्षी देती है। इसलिए आओ बाधा पहुँचाने वाली प्रत्येक वस्तु को और उस पाप को जो सहज में ही हमें उलझा लेता है झटक फेंके और वह दौड़ जो हमें दौड़नी है, आओ धीरज के साथ उसे दौड़ें। 2 हमारे विश्वास के अगुआ और उसे सम्पूर्ण सिद्ध करने वाले यीशु पर आओ हम दृष्टि लगायें। जिसने अपने सामने उपस्थित आनन्द के लिए क्रूस की यातना झेली, उसकी लज्जा की कोई चिंता नहीं की और परमेश्वर के सिंहासन के दाहिने हाथ विराजमान हो गया। 3 उसका ध्यान करो जिसने पापियों का ऐसा विरोध इसलिए सहन किया ताकि थक कर तुम्हारा मन हार न मान बैठे।
परमेश्वर, पिता के समान है
4 पाप के विरुद्ध अपने संघर्ष में तुम्हें इतना नहीं लड़ना पड़ा है कि अपना लहू ही बहाना पड़ा हो। 5 तुम उस साहसपूर्ण वचन को भूल गये हो। जो तुम्हेंपुत्र के नाते सम्बोधित है:
“हे मेरे पुत्र, प्रभु के अनुशासन का तिरस्कार मत कर,
उसकी फटकार का बुरा कभी मत मान,
6 क्योंकि प्रभु उनको डाँटता है जिनसे वह प्रेम करता है।
वैसे ही जैसे पिता उस पुत्र को दण्ड देता, जो उसको अति प्रिय है।”(A)
7 कठिनाई को अनुशासन के रूप में सहन करो। परमेश्वर तुम्हारे साथ अपने पुत्र के समान व्यवहार करता है। ऐसा पुत्र कौन होगा जिसे अपने पिता के द्वारा ताड़ना न दी गई हो? 8 यदि तुम्हें वैसे ही ताड़ना नहीं दी गयी है जैसे सबको ताड़ना दी जाती है तो तुम अपने पिता से पैदा हुए पुत्र नहीं हो और सच्ची संतान नहीं हो। 9 और फिर यह भी कि इन सब को वे पिता भी जिन्होंने हमारे शरीर को जन्म दिया है, हमें ताड़ना देते हैं। और इसके लिए हम उन्हें मान देते हैं तो फिर हमें अपनी आत्माओं के पिता के अनुशासन के तो कितना अधिक अधीन रहते हुए जीना चाहिए। 10 हमारे पिताओं ने थोड़े से समय के लिए जैसा उन्होंने उत्तम समझा, हमें ताड़ना दी, किन्तु परमेश्वर हमें हमारी भलाई के लिये ताड़ना दी है, जिससे हम उसकी पवित्रता के सहभागी हो सकें। 11 जिस समय ताड़ना दी जा रही होती है, उस समय ताड़ना अच्छी नहीं लगती, बल्कि वह दुखद लगती है किन्तु कुछ भी हो, वे जो ताड़ना का अनुभव करते हैं, उनके लिए यह आगे चलकर नेकी और शांति का सुफल प्रदान करता है।
चेतावनी: परमेश्वर को नकारो मत
12 इसलिए अपनी दुर्बल बाहों और निर्बल घुटनों को सबल बनाओ। 13 अपने पैरों के लिए मार्ग बना ताकि जो लँगड़ा है, वह अपंग नहीं, वरन चंगा हो जाए।
14 सभी के साथ शांति के साथ रहने और पवित्र होने के लिए हर प्रकार से प्रयत्नशील रहो; बिना पवित्रता के कोई भी प्रभु का दर्शन नहीं कर पायेगा। 15 इस बात का ध्यान रखो कि परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से कोई भी विमुख न हो जाए और तुम्हें कष्ट पहुँचाने तथा बहुत लोगों को विकृत करने के लिए कोई झगड़े की जड़ न फूट पड़े। 16 देखो कि कोई भी व्यभिचार न करे अथवा उस एसाव के समान परमेश्वर विहीन न हो जाये जिसे सबसे बड़ा पुत्र होने के नाते उत्तराधिकार पाने का अधिकार था किन्तु जिसने उसे बस एक निवाला भर खाना के लिए बेच दिया। 17 जैसा कि तुम जानते ही हो बाद में जब उसने इस वरदान को प्राप्त करना चाहा तो उसे अयोग्य ठहराया गया। यद्यपि उसने रो-रो कर वरदान पाना चाहा किन्तु वह अपने किये का पश्चाताप नहीं कर पाया।
18 तुम अग्नि से जलते हुए इस पर्वत के पास नहीं आये जिसे छुआ जा सकता था और न ही अंधकार, विषाद और बवंडर के निकट आये हो। 19 और न ही तुरही की तीव्र ध्वनि अथवा किसी ऐसे स्वर के सम्पर्क में आये जो वचनों का उच्चारण कर रही हो, जिससे जिन्होंने उसे सुना, प्रार्थना की कि उनके लिए किसी और वचन का उच्चारण न किया जाये। 20 क्योंकि जो आदेश दिया गया था, वे उसे झेल नहीं पाये: “यदि कोई पशु तक उस पर्वत को छुए तो उस पर पथराव किया जाये।”(B) 21 वह दृश्य इतना भयभीत कर डालने वाला था कि मूसा ने कहा, “मैं भय से थरथर काँप रहा हूँ।”(C)[a]
22 किन्तु तुम तो सिओन पर्वत, सजीव परमेश्वर की नगरी, स्वर्ग के यरूशलेम के निकट आ पहुँचे हो। तुम तो हज़ारों-हज़ार स्वर्गदूतों की आनन्दपूर्ण सभा, 23 परमेश्वर की पहली संतानों, जिनके नाम स्वर्ग में लिखे हैं, उनकी सभा के निकट पहुँच चुके हो। तुम सबके न्यायकर्ता परमेश्वर और उन धर्मात्मा, सिद्ध पुरुषों की आत्माओं, 24 तथा एक नये करार के मध्यस्थ यीशु और छिड़के हुए उस लहू से निकट आ चुके हो जो हाबिल के लहू की अपेक्षा उत्तम वचन बोलता है।
25 ध्यान रहे! कि तुम उस बोलने वाले को मत नकारो। यदि वे उसको नकार कर नहीं बच पाये जिसने उन्हें धरती पर चेतावनी दी थी तो यदि हम उससे मुँह मोड़ेंगे जो हमें स्वर्ग से चेतावनी दे रहा है, तो हम तो दण्ड से बिल्कुल भी नहीं बच पायेंगे। 26 उसकी वाणी ने उस समय धरती को झकझोर दिया था किन्तु अब उसने प्रतिज्ञा की है, “एक बार फिर न केवल धरती को ही बल्कि आकाशों को भी मैं झकझोर दूँगा।” 27 “एक बार फिर” ये शब्द उस हर वस्तु की ओर इंगित करते हैं जिसे रचा गया है (यानी वे वस्तुएँ जो अस्थिर हैं) वे नष्ट हो जायेंगी। केवल वे वस्तुएँ ही बचेंगी जो स्थिर हैं।
28 अतः क्योंकि जब हमें एक ऐसा राज्य मिल रहा है, जिसे झकझोरा नहीं जा सकता, तो आओ हम धन्यवादी बनें और आदर मिश्रित भय के साथ परमेश्वर की उपासना करें। 29 क्योंकि हमारा परमेश्वर भस्म कर डालने वाली एक आग है।

12 De aceea, întrucât suntem înconjuraţi de un nor aşa de mare de martori, să dăm la o parte orice ne-ar putea împiedica şi păcatul care ne prinde atât de strâns şi să alergăm cu perseverenţă în cursa care ne stă înainte. 2 Să ne fixăm atenţia asupra lui Isus, Cel Care iniţiază şi desăvârşeşte credinţa, Cel Care, pentru bucuria ce-I stătea înainte, a îndurat crucea, dispreţuindu-i ruşinea, şi S-a aşezat la dreapta tronului lui Dumnezeu! 3 Gândiţi-vă cu atenţie la Cel Ce a îndurat o astfel de împotrivire faţă de El Însuşi din partea păcătoşilor, ca să nu vă lăsaţi descurajaţi şi să nu renunţaţi.
4 Voi nu v-aţi împotrivit încă până la sânge în lupta împotriva păcatului 5 şi aţi uitat în întregime încurajarea pe care v-o spune ca unor fii:
„Fiul meu, nu dispreţui disciplinarea Domnului,
nu te descuraja când eşti mustrat de El,
6 pentru că Domnul îl disciplinează pe cel pe care-l iubeşte
şi pedepseşte pe orice fiu pe care-l primeşte.“[a]
7 Răbdaţi încercările de dragul disciplinării! Dumnezeu se poartă cu voi ca şi cu nişte fii. Care copil nu este disciplinat de tatăl lui? 8 Însă dacă voi nu aveţi parte de disciplina de care au parte toţi copiii, atunci sunteţi copii nelegitimi, nu fii! 9 Mai mult, în cazul părinţilor noştri omeneşti, ei ne-au disciplinat, iar noi i-am respectat; n-ar trebui, cu atât mai mult, să ne supunem Tatălui duhurilor şi să trăim? 10 Ei ne-au disciplinat pentru scurt timp, aşa cum li s-a părut lor cel mai bine, însă El ne disciplinează pentru binele nostru, ca să avem parte de sfinţenia Lui. 11 Întotdeauna, orice disciplinare este mai degrabă dureroasă decât plăcută, dar, mai târziu, cei care au fost disciplinaţi prin ea adună rodul paşnic al dreptăţii.
12 De aceea, întăriţi-vă braţele lipsite de putere şi genunchii slăbiţi! 13 „Faceţi cărări drepte pentru picioarele voastre“[b], pentru ca cel şchiop să nu-şi scrântească piciorul, ci mai degrabă să fie vindecat!
14 Urmăriţi cu toţii pacea şi sfinţirea, fără de care nimeni nu-L va vedea pe Domnul! 15 Fiţi atenţi ca nici unul să nu se întoarcă de la harul lui Dumnezeu, ca nici un lăstar de amărăciune să nu crească şi să provoace durere, iar prin el mulţi să se pângărească! 16 Fiţi atenţi ca nimeni să nu fie desfrânat sau lumesc, ca Esau, care, pentru o mâncare, şi-a vândut drepturile de întâi născut. 17 Voi ştiţi că, mai târziu, când a vrut să-şi moştenească binecuvântarea, a fost respins, chiar dacă a căutat-o cu lacrimi, deoarece n-a găsit loc pentru pocăinţă.
18 Căci n-aţi venit la un munte care poate fi atins şi care este cuprins de foc; n-aţi venit la întuneric, negură şi furtună, 19 nici la sunet de trâmbiţă şi la un glas ale cărui cuvinte i-au făcut pe cei ce l-au auzit să ceară să nu li se mai vorbească, – 20 pentru că n-au putut îndura porunca dată, şi anume: „Chiar dacă un animal atinge muntele, trebuie să fie omorât cu pietre!“[c]; 21 priveliştea aceea era atât de înspăimântătoare, încât Moise a spus: „Sunt înspăimântat şi tremur!“[d] – 22 ci aţi venit la muntele Sion, la cetatea Dumnezeului celui Viu, Ierusalimul ceresc, la miile de îngeri adunaţi pentru sărbătoare, 23 la Biserica întâilor născuţi scrişi în ceruri, la Dumnezeu, Judecătorul tuturor, la duhurile desăvârşite ale celor drepţi, 24 la Isus, Mijlocitorul Noului Legământ, şi la sângele stropit, care vorbeşte mai bine decât sângele lui Abel.
25 Aveţi grijă să nu-L respingeţi pe Cel Ce vă vorbeşte! Căci dacă n-au scăpat aceia care n-au vrut să-l asculte pe cel ce le-a adus mesajul divin pe pământ, cu atât mai mult nu vom scăpa noi, dacă ne întoarcem de la Cel Ce ni-l aduce din ceruri! 26 Atunci glasul Lui a clătinat pământul, dar acum a promis că: „Voi clătina încă o dată, nu numai pământul, ci şi cerul.“[e] 27 Cuvintele „încă o dată“ arată înlăturarea a ceea ce poate fi clătinat, adică a lucrurilor create, astfel încât să rămână ceea ce nu poate fi clătinat. 28 De aceea, întrucât primim o Împărăţie care nu poate fi clătinată, să mulţumim şi să ne închinăm lui Dumnezeu într-un mod care-I este plăcut, cu reverenţă şi frică, 29 pentru că „Dumnezeul nostru este un foc mistuitor“[f].

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run(A) with perseverance(B) the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus,(C) the pioneer(D) and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,(E) scorning its shame,(F) and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.(G) 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary(H) and lose heart.
God Disciplines His Children
4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.(I) 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart(J) when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,(K)
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a](L)
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(M) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(N)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits(O) and live!(P) 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.(Q) 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace(R) for those who have been trained by it.
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.(S) 13 “Make level paths for your feet,”[b](T) so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.(U)
Warning and Encouragement
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone(V) and to be holy;(W) without holiness no one will see the Lord.(X) 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God(Y) and that no bitter root(Z) grows up to cause trouble and defile many. 16 See that no one is sexually immoral,(AA) or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.(AB) 17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears,(AC) he could not change what he had done.
The Mountain of Fear and the Mountain of Joy
18 You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;(AD) 19 to a trumpet blast(AE) or to such a voice speaking words(AF) that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,(AG) 20 because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”[c](AH) 21 The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”[d](AI)
22 But you have come to Mount Zion,(AJ) to the city(AK) of the living God,(AL) the heavenly Jerusalem.(AM) You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn,(AN) whose names are written in heaven.(AO) You have come to God, the Judge of all,(AP) to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,(AQ) 24 to Jesus the mediator(AR) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood(AS) that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.(AT)
25 See to it that you do not refuse(AU) him who speaks.(AV) If they did not escape when they refused him who warned(AW) them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?(AX) 26 At that time his voice shook the earth,(AY) but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[e](AZ) 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken(BA)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,(BB) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,(BC) 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[f](BD)
