1 No passado, Deus falou muitas vezes e de muitas maneiras aos nossos antepassados por meio dos profetas. 2 Mas, nestes últimos tempos, ele nos falou pelo Filho a quem constituiu herdeiro de todas as coisas. E foi também por meio do Filho que Deus criou o universo. 3 Ele é o brilho da glória de Deus, a imagem perfeita daquilo que Deus é. Ele sustenta todas as coisas por sua poderosa palavra. E, depois de ter realizado a purificação dos pecados, ele se assentou no céu, à direita[a] do Deus glorioso. 4 Ele se tornou tão superior aos anjos, que Deus lhe deu um nome que é superior ao deles.
5 Deus nunca disse a nenhum anjo:
Ou nem mesmo disse a respeito de nenhum anjo:
“Eu serei seu Pai
e ele será meu Filho”.(B)
6 E, novamente, quando Deus enviou o seu Filho mais velho[c] ao mundo, foi dito:
“Que todos os anjos de Deus adorem o Senhor”.[d]
7 A respeito dos anjos, foi dito:
“Deus faz com que os seus anjos se tornem vento,
e com que os seus servos se tornem chamas de fogo”.(C)
8 Mas a respeito do Filho, foi dito:
“O seu reino, ó Deus, vai durar para sempre
e o seu governo é um governo justo.
9 O Senhor ama o que é justo,
e odeia o que é mau.
Assim Deus, o seu Deus, derramou sobre o Senhor
uma alegria muito maior
do que a dos seus companheiros”.(D)
10 E ainda com relação ao Filho foi dito:
“Ó Senhor! No princípio o Senhor criou a terra,
e com as suas próprias mãos o Senhor fez o céu.
11 A terra e os céus irão acabar,
mas o Senhor permanecerá para sempre.
Eles ficarão velhos como roupas,
12 e o Senhor os dobrará como se dobra um casaco
e os trocará como se troca de roupa.
Mas o Senhor é o mesmo
e os seus anos jamais terão fim”.(E)
13 Ora, Deus também nunca disse a nenhum de seus anjos:
“Sente-se à minha direita,
até eu pôr os seus inimigos
debaixo dos seus pés”.(F)
14 Todos os anjos são somente espíritos que servem a Deus e que são enviados para ajudar aqueles que vão receber a salvação.

- 1.5 eu hoje me tornei seu Pai Literalmente, “eu hoje te gerei”.
- 1.6 Filho mais velho Literalmente, “primogênito”. Significa que Cristo ocupa o primeiro lugar e é o mais importante de todos os filhos de Deus (Hb 2.10-12; Ro 8.29).

God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke(A) to our ancestors through the prophets(B) at many times and in various ways,(C) 2 but in these last days(D) he has spoken to us by his Son,(E) whom he appointed heir(F) of all things, and through whom(G) also he made the universe.(H) 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory(I) and the exact representation of his being,(J) sustaining all things(K) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.(M) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.(N)
The Son Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
Or again,
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn(Q) into the world,(R) he says,
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;(U)
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions(V)
by anointing you with the oil(W) of joy.”[e](X)
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.(Y)
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.(Z)
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,(AA)
and your years will never end.”[f](AB)
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits(AF) sent to serve those who will inherit(AG) salvation?(AH)

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
