信的人得享安息
4 因此，上帝既然仍舊應許讓人進入祂的安息，我們就該戰戰兢兢，免得有人失去這福分。 2 因為我們和他們一樣聽到了福音，只是他們聽了道後沒有憑信心領受，結果沒有得到益處。 3 正如上帝曾說：
「我在憤怒中起誓說，
『他們絕不可進入我的安息。』」
但我們這些已經信的人能夠進入祂的安息。其實造物之工自創世以來就已經完成了， 4 因為聖經論到第七日時說：「第七日，上帝歇了一切的工。」 5 又說：「他們絕不可進入我的安息。」 6 既然最終會有人進入安息，而那些從前聽過福音的人因為不信沒能進去， 7 上帝就另定了一個日子，稱之為「今日」。正如多年後，祂藉著大衛說：
「你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，
不可心裡頑固。」
8 如果當初約書亞已經讓他們得到了安息，上帝就不必另定一個日子了。 9 這樣說來，必定另有一個安息日為上帝的子民存留，使他們可以真正安歇。 10 因為人進入上帝的安息，就是歇了自己的工作，好像上帝歇了祂的工作一樣。 11 因此，我們要竭力進入那安息，免得重蹈他們的覆轍，因不順服而倒斃。
12 上帝的話有生命、有功效，鋒利無比，勝過一切兩刃的利劍，甚至能夠剌入並分開魂與靈、關節與骨髓，辨明人一切的思想和動機。 13 受造物在上帝面前都無法隱藏，因為萬物都是赤裸裸地暴露在上帝眼前，我們必須向祂交帳。

14 我們既然有一位已經升上高天的尊貴大祭司——上帝的兒子耶穌，就應當持守我們所認定的信仰。 15 因為我們這位大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱，祂與我們一樣曾經面對各樣的試探，卻從來沒有犯罪。 16 所以，讓我們坦然無懼地到祂賜恩的寶座前，好領受憐憫和恩典，作隨時的幫助。

4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

4 Vì hiện nay Thượng Đế đã để lại cho chúng ta lời hứa vào sự an nghỉ Ngài nên chúng ta phải rất thận trọng kẻo có ai không được vào sự an nghỉ ấy. 2 Tin Mừng được giảng ra cho chúng ta cũng như đã giảng ra cho họ. Nhưng lời dạy dỗ họ nghe chẳng ích lợi gì vì họ nghe mà không chịu tiếp nhận bằng đức tin. 3 Còn chúng ta là người đã tin thì được hưởng sự an nghỉ của Thượng Đế như Ngài phán,
“Ta nổi giận và thề,
Chúng nó không được hưởng sự an nghỉ ta.” (A)
Ngài phán như thế mặc dù công tác của Ngài đã làm xong từ khi sáng tạo thế gian. 4 Trong Thánh Kinh Ngài nói đến ngày thứ bảy trong tuần: “Rồi đến ngày thứ bảy Thượng Đế nghỉ ngơi các công việc Ngài.” [a] 5 Và cũng trong Thánh Kinh Ngài lại phán, “Chúng nó sẽ không được vào sự an nghỉ ta.”
6 Đành rằng có một số người sẽ vào sự an nghỉ của Thượng Đế nhưng những người đầu tiên đã nghe Tin Mừng ấy không vào được vì không vâng lời. 7 Vì thế, Thượng Đế định cho một ngày khác gọi là “Ngày nay.” Mãi về sau Ngài nói với Đa-vít về ngày ấy và được chép trong cùng khúc Thánh Kinh đã nói trước đó:
“Ngày nay khi các ngươi nghe lời Ngài dạy,
thì đừng ương ngạnh.” (B)
8 Chúng ta biết Giô-suê không có dẫn dân chúng vào sự an nghỉ ấy vì về sau Thượng Đế nói về một ngày an nghỉ khác. 9 Do đó ta thấy sự an nghỉ [b] của dân Chúa là việc sắp đến. 10 Ai được vào sự an nghỉ của Thượng Đế cũng sẽ nghỉ ngơi khỏi các công việc mình như Thượng Đế đã nghỉ. 11 Cho nên chúng ta hãy cố gắng vào sự nghỉ ngơi của Thượng Đế để không ai bị loại ra vì bắt chước các gương phản nghịch.
12 Lời Thượng Đế [c] rất sống động, sắc bén hơn gươm hai lưỡi, cắt sâu vào chúng ta, thấu đến hồn, linh, xương, tủy, cân nhắc tư tưởng và cảm nghĩ trong lòng. 13 Không điều gì trên thế gian có thể che giấu khỏi Thượng Đế được. Mọi việc đều sẽ phơi bày rõ ràng trước mặt Ngài, là Đấng mà chúng ta sẽ phải giải thích nếp sống của mình.

14 Vì chúng ta có một thầy tế lễ tối cao rất lớn là Chúa Giê-xu, Con Thượng Đế, đã về thiên đàng nên chúng ta hãy giữ vững đức tin. 15 Vì thầy tế lễ tối cao của chúng ta có thể thông cảm những yếu kém của chúng ta. Khi còn sống trên đất, Ngài đã bị cám dỗ đủ cách như chúng ta nhưng không phạm tội. 16 Cho nên chúng ta hãy dạn dĩ đến trước ngôi ân phúc của Thượng Đế để nhận được lòng nhân ái và ân phúc hầu giúp chúng ta lúc cần.

4 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem (A)to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because (B)they were not united by faith with those who listened.[a] 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,
(C)“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: (D)“And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,
(E)“They shall not enter my rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news (F)failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
(G)“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God[b] would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also (H)rested from his works as God did from his.
11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so (I)that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For (J)the word of God is living and (K)active, (L)sharper than any (M)two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and (N)discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And (O)no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are (P)naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

14 Since then we have (Q)a great high priest (R)who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, (S)let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest (T)who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been (U)tempted as we are, (V)yet without sin. 16 (W)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
