劃時代的啟示
1 在古代，上帝曾藉著先知以各種方式多次向我們的祖先說話； 2 在這世界的末期，祂又藉著自己的兒子親自向我們說話。上帝早已立祂承受萬物，並藉著祂創造了宇宙萬物。 3 祂正是上帝榮耀的光輝，是上帝本體的真像。祂用自己充滿能力的話語維繫萬物。祂洗淨了世人的罪之後，便坐在天上至高上帝的右邊。 4 祂既承受了比天使更高的名分，就遠超越天使。
5 上帝從未對任何一個天使說：
「你是我的兒子，我今日成為你父親。」
或說：
「我要作你的父親，你要作我的兒子。」
6 上帝差遣祂的長子到世上來時，說：
「上帝的天使都要敬拜祂。」
7 上帝提到天使的時候，也只是說：
「上帝使祂的天使成為風，使祂的僕役成為火焰。」
8 但論到祂的兒子，祂卻說：
「上帝啊，你的寶座永遠長存，
你以公義的杖執掌王權。
9 你喜愛公義，憎惡邪惡。
所以上帝，你的上帝，
用喜樂之油膏你，使你超過同伴。」
10 此外又說：
「主啊，太初你奠立大地的根基，
親手創造諸天。
11 天地都要消亡，但你永遠長存。
天地都會像衣服漸漸破舊，
12 你要像捲外衣一樣把天地捲起來。
天地將如衣服一樣被更換，
但你永遠不變，
你的年日永無窮盡。」
13 上帝從未對任何一個天使說：
「你坐在我的右邊，
等我使你的仇敵成為你的腳凳。」
14 天使豈不都是服役的靈嗎？他們奉差遣，豈不是去為那些將要承受救恩的人服務嗎？

God heeft door zijn Zoon tegen de mensen gesproken
1 God heeft vroeger vaak en op veel verschillende manieren tegen onze voorouders gesproken. Dat deed Hij door de profeten. Maar nu, aan het eind van de tijd, heeft Hij tegen óns gesproken door zijn Zoon. 2 Door zijn Zoon heeft Hij de wereld gemaakt. En Hij heeft Hem ook alles gegeven wat bestaat. 3 De Zoon is de 'afbeelding' van God Zelf. In Hem zien we wie God is. In Hem zien we de macht en majesteit van God en het karakter van God. De Zoon zorgt ervoor dat alle dingen bestaan. Want alle dingen bestaan door zijn woord dat één en al kracht is.
Gods Zoon is belangrijker dan de engelen
Eerst heeft de Zoon ervoor gezorgd dat de mensen vergeving konden krijgen voor al hun ongehoorzaamheid aan God. Daarna is Hij naar de hemel gegaan. Daar zit Hij nu naast God op de troon. 4 Hij heeft een veel machtiger plaats gekregen dan de engelen. Dat is omdat Hij veel belangrijker is dan zij. 5 Want tegen geen één engel heeft God ooit gezegd: "Jij bent mijn Zoon. Vanaf vandaag ben Ik jouw Vader." Maar wel tegen de Zoon. Tegen geen één engel heeft Hij ooit gezegd: "Ik zal jouw Vader zijn, en jij zal mijn Zoon zijn." 6 En opnieuw zegt God, op het moment dat Hij zijn eerstgeboren Zoon in de wereld brengt: "Al Gods engelen moeten Hem aanbidden." 7 Van de engelen zegt Hij: "Zijn engelen zijn als de wind. Zijn dienaren zijn als vuurvlammen." 8 Maar van de Zoon zegt Hij: "God, U bent voor eeuwig Koning en U heerst volmaakt rechtvaardig. 9 U houdt van rechtvaardigheid en haat onrechtvaardigheid. Daarom heeft God aan U méér blijdschap gegeven dan aan de anderen om U heen."
10 En God zegt ook: "Heer, U heeft in het begin de hemel en de aarde gemaakt. 11 De hemel en de aarde zullen verdwijnen, maar U blijft voor altijd. Hemel en aarde zullen verslijten als een kledingstuk. 12 U zal ze oprollen als een mantel en ze vervangen door een andere. Maar U blijft dezelfde en aan uw leven komt geen einde."
13 En tegen geen één engel heeft God ooit gezegd: "Ga naast Mij zitten, totdat Ik al je vijanden helemaal verslagen heb." Maar wel tegen de Zoon. 14 De engelen zijn alleen maar dienende geesten. Ze moeten de mensen dienen die al het goede van God zullen krijgen dat God heeft beloofd. (lees verder)

Introducción (1,1-4)
Dios nos ha hablado por medio de su Hijo
1 Dios habló en otro tiempo a nuestros antepasados por medio de los profetas, y lo hizo en distintas ocasiones y de múltiples maneras. 2 Ahora, llegada la etapa final, nos ha hablado por medio del Hijo a quien constituyó heredero de todas las cosas y por quien creó también el universo. 3 El Hijo, que siendo reflejo resplandeciente de la gloria del Padre e imagen perfecta de su ser, sostiene todas las cosas mediante su palabra poderosa y que, después de habernos purificado del pecado, se sentó junto al trono de Dios en las alturas 4 y ha venido a ser un valedor tanto más poderoso que los ángeles, cuanto es más excelente el título que ha recibido en herencia.
I.— JESUCRISTO, SUPERIOR A LOS ÁNGELES (1,5—2,18)
Hijo de Dios
5 En efecto, jamás dijo Dios a ningún ángel:
Tú eres mi Hijo,
yo te he engendrado hoy.
Ni tampoco:
Seré para él un padre,
y él será un hijo para mí.
6 Asimismo, al introducir a su Hijo primogénito en el mundo dice:
Adórenlo todos los ángeles de Dios.
7 Y mientras que de los ángeles dice la Escritura:
Dios hace espíritus a sus ángeles,
y llamas ardientes a sus ministros,
8 del Hijo, en cambio, dice:
Tu trono, oh Dios, permanece para siempre
y gobiernas tu reino con rectitud.
9 Has amado la justicia y odiado la maldad;
por eso Dios, tu Dios, te ha ungido
con óleo de alegría haciéndote sobresalir
más que tus compañeros.
10 Y dice también:
Tú, Señor, pusiste al comienzo
los cimientos de la tierra,
y hechura de tus manos son los cielos.
11 Ellos perecerán; tú, en cambio, permaneces.
Como traje que envejece serán todos;
12 como si de un manto se tratara, los doblarás
y como ropa que se muda cambiarán.
Pero tú eres siempre el mismo
y tus años no tendrán fin.
13 ¿A qué ángel, en fin, dijo alguna vez:
Siéntate junto a mí
hasta que yo ponga a tus enemigos
por estrado de tus pies?
14 ¿No son todos ellos espíritus enviados con la función de servir a los que han de heredar la salvación?

God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke(A) to our ancestors through the prophets(B) at many times and in various ways,(C) 2 but in these last days(D) he has spoken to us by his Son,(E) whom he appointed heir(F) of all things, and through whom(G) also he made the universe.(H) 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory(I) and the exact representation of his being,(J) sustaining all things(K) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.(M) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.(N)
The Son Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
Or again,
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn(Q) into the world,(R) he says,
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;(U)
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions(V)
by anointing you with the oil(W) of joy.”[e](X)
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.(Y)
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.(Z)
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,(AA)
and your years will never end.”[f](AB)
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits(AF) sent to serve those who will inherit(AG) salvation?(AH)
