⁴這城很大，但人口稀少，房屋尚未重建。 ⁵我的上帝感動我召集貴族、官員和民眾，按照他們的家譜進行登記。我找到第一批回歸之人的家譜，上面記著：

⁶巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從前把猶大省的人擄到巴比倫，這些人的子孫回到耶路撒冷和猶大後，各回本城。

The List of the Exiles Who Returned^(A)

⁴Now the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it,^(B) and the houses had not yet been rebuilt. ⁵So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return. This is what I found written there:

⁶These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles^(C) whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken captive (they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town,
