3 每當以色列人撒種之後，米甸、亞瑪力和東邊的人都上來攻打他們， 4 對着他們安營，毀壞那地的農作物，直到迦薩，沒有給以色列留下食物，牛、羊、驢也沒有留下。 5 因為那些人帶着他們的牲畜和帳棚上來，像蝗蟲那樣多；人和駱駝無數，都進入境內，毀壞全地。

3 Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites(A) and other eastern peoples(B) invaded the country. 4 They camped on the land and ruined the crops(C) all the way to Gaza(D) and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys. 5 They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts.(E) It was impossible to count them or their camels;(F) they invaded the land to ravage it.

3 So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the (A)people of the East would come up against them. 4 Then they would encamp against them and (B)destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor (C)donkey. 5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were [a]without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it.
