¹³基甸說：「我主啊，如果耶和華與我們同在，我們怎會有這些遭遇？我們的祖先曾告訴我們有關耶和華帶領他們離開埃及的事，如今祂那些奇妙的作為在哪裡呢？現在祂已經丟棄我們，把我們交在米甸人手裡。」 ¹⁴耶和華轉向他，說：「你盡自己的力量去從米甸人手中拯救以色列人吧，我現在派你去。」 ¹⁵基甸說：「主啊，我出身於瑪拿西支派最貧窮的家族，在家裡最微不足道，我怎能拯救以色列人呢？」

Judges 6:13-15

New King James Version

¹³Gideon said to Him, “O ^[a]my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And ^(A)where are all His miracles ^(B)which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has ^(C)forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”

¹⁴Then the Lord turned to him and said, ^(D)“Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. ^(E)Have I not sent you?”

¹⁵So he said to Him, “O ^[b]my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed ^(F)my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

¹³“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders^(A) that our ancestors told^(B) us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned^(C) us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

¹⁴The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have^(D) and save^(E) Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

¹⁵“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan^(F) is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.^(G)”
