大道無人行走，
過路人繞道而行。

空無一人，
直到我底波拉興起，
興起作以色列之母！
⁸以色列人選擇新的諸神，
戰爭就臨到城門。

⁶“In the days of Shamgar son of Anath,^(A)
    in the days of Jael,^(B) the highways^(C) were abandoned;
    travelers took to winding paths.^(D)
⁷Villagers in Israel would not fight;
    they held back until I, Deborah,^(E) arose,
    until I arose, a mother in Israel.
⁸God chose new leaders^(F)
    when war came to the city gates,^(G)
but not a shield or spear^(H) was seen
    among forty thousand in Israel.
