羔羊與封印的書卷
5 接著，我看見坐在寶座上的那位右手拿著一卷內外寫著字、用七個印封住的書。 2 有一位大力天使高聲問道：「誰有資格揭開那七個封印，打開那卷書？」 3 可是，天上、地上、甚至地底下都沒有人有資格揭開並閱讀那卷書。 4 我見無人有資格揭開並閱讀那卷書，便放聲大哭。 5 有一位長老對我說：「不要哭。你看，猶大支派的獅子、大衛的根已經得勝了！祂能揭開那七個封印，打開那卷書。」
6 我又看到寶座、四個活物和眾長老之間站著一隻好像是被宰殺過的羔羊。祂身上的七隻角和七隻眼睛代表奉差遣到普天下去的上帝的七靈。 7 那羔羊走上前去，從坐在寶座上的那位右手中接過書卷。 8 祂拿過書卷後，四個活物和二十四位長老就俯伏在羔羊面前，各拿著豎琴和盛滿了香的金香爐。那些香就是眾聖徒的祈禱。 9 他們唱著一首新歌：
「你配拿書卷並揭開封印，
因你曾被殺，
用你的血從各部落、各語言族群、各民族、各國家，
將人買贖回來歸給上帝。
10 你又使他們成為上帝的國度和祭司，
他們要在地上執掌王權。」
11 我看見寶座、四個活物和眾長老的周圍有千千萬萬的天使，又聽見他們高聲呼喊： 12 「那被殺的羔羊配得權柄、財富、智慧、能力、尊貴、榮耀和頌讚！」
13 我又聽到天上、地上、地底下和海洋中一切被造之物同聲說：「願頌讚、尊貴、榮耀和權柄都歸於坐在寶座上的那位和羔羊，直到永永遠遠！」 14 四個活物就說：「阿們！」眾長老也俯伏敬拜。

5 சிம்மாசனத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பவரின் வலதுகைப் பக்கத்தில் எழுதப்பட்ட ஒரு தோல் சுருளைக் கண்டேன். அதில் இருபக்கமும் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது. அது மூடி வைக்கப்பட்டு ஏழு முத்திரைகளும் இடப்பட்டிருந்தன. 2 ஒரு சக்தி வாய்ந்த தேவதூதனையும் நான் கண்டேன். அவன் உரத்த குரலில் அழைத்து “இம்முத்திரைகளை உடைத்து இந்தத் தோல் சுருளைத் திறந்துவிடுகிற தகுதி உள்ளவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டான். 3 ஆனால் பரலோகத்திலோ, பூமியிலோ, பூமிக்கு அடியிலோ இருக்கிற எவரும் இதுவரை அம்முத்திரைகளை உடைத்து திறந்து உள்ளே பார்க்க இயலவில்லை. 4 எவரும் அந்தத் தோல் சுருளைத் திறந்து உள்ளே இருப்பதைப் பார்க்காததால் நான் மிகவும் அழுதேன். 5 ஆனால் முதியவர்களுள் ஒருவர் என்னிடம், “அழாதே! யூதர் குலத்தில் பிறந்த சிங்கமான இயேசு வெற்றி பெற்றார். அவர் தாவீதின் வழி வந்தவர். அவர் ஏழு முத்திரைகளையும் உடைத்து இந்தத் தோல் சுருளைத் திறந்து பார்க்கும் ஆற்றல் உள்ளவர்.”
6 பிறகு ஒரு ஆட்டுக்குட்டி சிம்மாசனத்தின் மத்தியில் நிற்பதைக் கண்டேன். அதனைச் சுற்றி நான்கு ஜீவன்களும் இருந்தன. மூப்பர்களும் அதனைச் சுற்றி இருந்தனர். அந்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டி கொல்லப்பட்டது போல தோன்றியது. அதற்கு ஏழு கொம்புகளும் ஏழு கண்களும் இருந்தன. அவை தேவனுடைய ஏழு ஆவிகளாகும். அவை உலகமெங்கும் அனுப்பப்பட்டவை. 7 அந்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டி தேவனுடைய வலது கையிலிருந்த தோல் சுருளை எடுத்தது. 8 உடனே உயிர் வாழும் ஜீவன்களும் இருபத்து நான்கு மூப்பர்களும் அந்த ஆட்டுக் குட்டியைப் பணிந்து வணங்கினர். ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் ஒரு இசைக்கருவி இருந்தது. அதோடு தூபவர்க்கத்தால் நிறைந்த பொற்கலசங்களையும் அவர்கள் பிடித்திருந்தனர். அத்தூபவர்க்கங்கள் நிறைந்த பொற்கலசங்கள் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்தமான மக்களின் பிரார்த்தனைகளைக் குறிக்கின்றன. 9 அவர்கள் அந்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டிக்காகப் புதிய பாடலைப் பாடினர்.
“தோல் சுருளை எடுக்க நீரே தகுதியுள்ளவர்.
அதன் முத்திரைகளையும் நீரே உடைக்கத்தக்கவர்.
ஏனென்றால் நீர் கொல்லப்பட்டவர்
உம் குருதியால் தேவனுக்காக மக்களை மீட்டுக்கொண்டவர்.
அவர்கள் பல்வேறு இனத்தை, மொழியை, நாட்டை, குழுவைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.
10 நீர் நம் தேவனுக்காக ஒரு இராஜ்யத்தையும், ஆசாரியர்களையும் உருவாக்கினீர்.
அவர்கள் இந்த உலகத்தை ஆளுவார்கள்.”
11 பிறகு நான் பல தூதர்களைப் பார்த்தேன். அவர்களது குரலைக் கேட்டேன். அத் தூதர்கள் சிம்மாசனத்தைச் சூழ்ந்து இருந்தனர். அவர்கள் ஜீவன்களையும், முதியவர்களையும் சூழ்ந்து இருந்தனர். அவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை ஆயிரம் ஆயிரமாகவும் பத்தாயிரம் பத்தாயிரமாகவும் இருந்தது. 12 அந்தத் தூதர்கள் உரத்த குரலில் கீழ்க்கண்டவாறு பாடினார்கள்.
“கொல்லப்பட்ட இந்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவரே வல்லமையை, செல்வத்தை, ஞானத்தை, பலத்தை, புகழை, மகிமையை,
பாராட்டுகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளத் தகுதியானவர்.”
13 பிறகு பரலோகத்தில் உள்ள அத்தனை உயிருள்ள ஜீவன்களும், பூமியிலும் கடலிலும் பூமிக்கு அடியிலுள்ள உலகிலுமுள்ள அத்தனை உயிருள்ள ஜீவன்களும் கீழ்க்கண்டவாறு சொல்வதைக் கேட்டேன்.
“சிம்மாசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கிறவருக்கும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருக்கும் பாராட்டுகளும்,
கனமும், புகழும், அதிகாரமும் சதாகலங்களிலும் உண்டாகட்டும்.”
14 இதைக் கேட்டு அந்த நான்கு உயிருள்ள ஜீவன்களும் “ஆமென்” என்று சொல்லின. மூப்பர்களும் பணிந்து வணங்கினர்.

The Lamb Takes the Scroll
5 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne (A)a scroll written inside and on the back, (B)sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, (C)“Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open [a]and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, (D)the Lion of the tribe of (E)Judah, (F)the Root of David, has (G)prevailed to open the scroll (H)and [b]to loose its seven seals.”
6 And I looked, [c]and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood (I)a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and (J)seven eyes, which are (K)the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand (L)of Him who sat on the throne.
Worthy Is the Lamb
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, (M)the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the (N)prayers of the saints. 9 And (O)they sang a new song, saying:
(P)“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And (Q)have redeemed us to God (R)by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made [d]us (S)kings[e] and (T)priests to our God;
And [f]we shall reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 And (U)every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
(V)“Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him (W)who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and [g]ever!”
14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the [h]twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped [i]Him who lives forever and ever.

The Scroll and the Lamb
5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne(A) a scroll with writing on both sides(B) and sealed(C) with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel(D) proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion(E) of the tribe of Judah,(F) the Root of David,(G) has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
6 Then I saw a Lamb,(H) looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures(I) and the elders.(J) The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes,(K) which are the seven spirits[a](L) of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.(M) 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures(N) and the twenty-four elders(O) fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp(P) and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers(Q) of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:(R)
“You are worthy(S) to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood(T) you purchased(U) for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.(V)
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests(W) to serve our God,
and they will reign[b] on the earth.”(X)
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.(Y) They encircled the throne and the living creatures(Z) and the elders.(AA) 12 In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb,(AB) who was slain,(AC)
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”(AD)
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth(AE) and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne(AF) and to the Lamb(AG)
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”(AH)
14 The four living creatures(AI) said, “Amen,”(AJ) and the elders(AK) fell down and worshiped.(AL)
