13 这是我第三次到你们那里去，各样事情必须凭两三个证人的口，才能确定。 2 我第二次到你们那里去的时候说过，现今不在你们那里，再预先对那些从前犯了罪的和其余的人说：我若再来，必不宽容， 3 因为你们在找基督借着我说话的凭据。基督对你们不是软弱的，相反地，在你们身上是有能力的。 4 他因着软弱被钉死了，却靠着 神的大能活着。我们在他里面也是软弱的，但靠着 神向你们所显的大能，也必与他一同活着。
5 你们应当察验自己是不是持守着信仰，也应当考验自己。难道不晓得基督耶稣是在你们里面吗？（除非你们是经不起考验的人。） 6 我盼望你们晓得，我们不是经不起考验的人。 7 我们祈求 神，使你们不作甚么恶事。这并不是要显明我们是经得起考验的，而是要你们行善；我们呢，就让我们作经不起考验的人好了！ 8 我们不能作甚么事违背真理，只能维护真理。 9 当我们软弱、你们刚强的时候，我们就欢喜；我们所求的，就是要你们完全。 10 因此，我趁着不在你们那里的时候，把这些话写给你们，到我来了，就不必凭着主所给我的权柄严厉地对待你们。这权柄不是要拆毁你们，而是要建立你们。
11 最后，弟兄们，你们要喜乐，要完全，要受安慰，要同心，要和睦。这样，施慈爱赐平安的 神必与你们同在。 12 你们要用圣洁的亲吻彼此问安。
13 众圣徒都问候你们。
14 愿主耶稣基督的恩惠， 神的慈爱，圣灵的契通，常与你们众人同在。

Examine Yourselves
13 (A)This is the third time that I am coming to you. (B)On the [a]testimony of two or three witnesses every matter shall be confirmed. 2 I have previously said when I was present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have (C)sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that (D)if I come again I will not (E)spare anyone, 3 since you are (F)seeking proof of the (G)Christ who speaks in me, who is not weak toward you, but (H)mighty in you. 4 For indeed He was (I)crucified because of weakness, yet He lives (J)because of the power of God. For we too are (K)weak [b]in Him, yet (L)we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.
5 (M)Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; (N)examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you [c](O)fail the test? 6 But I expect that you will realize that we ourselves [d]do not fail the test. 7 Now we pray to God that you do nothing wrong; not so that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, though we may [e]appear unapproved. 8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 For we rejoice when we ourselves are (P)weak, but you are strong; this we also pray for, [f]that you (Q)become mature. 10 For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present (R)I need not use (S)severity, in accordance with the (T)authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
11 (U)Finally, brothers and sisters, [g]rejoice, (V)mend your ways, be comforted, (W)be like-minded, (X)live in peace; and (Y)the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 (Z)Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 (AA)All the [h]saints greet you.
14 (AB)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the (AC)love of God, and the (AD)fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

13 To je treći put što ću vas posjetiti. U Svetom pismu piše: »Svaka pritužba mora se temeljiti na svjedočenju dvojice ili trojice svjedoka«.[a] 2 Kad sam drugi put bio s vama, upozorio sam vas. I sad kad sam daleko, opet vas upozoravam. Opominjem one koji su prije griješili, a i ostale. Kad vas ponovo posjetim, neću vas štedjeti. 3 I to zato što tražite dokaz da Krist govori kroz mene—on koji nije slab prema vama, nego je jak među vama. 4 Istina je da je bio slab kad je bio razapet, ali sada živi Božjom snagom. Isto je tako istina da smo mi u njemu slabi, ali živjet ćemo Božjom snagom s njim, radi vas.
5 Preispitajte se da vidite živite li u vjeri. Provjerite sami sebe! Zar ne prepoznajete da je Isus Krist u vama? Ako Isus Krist ne živi u vama, onda niste prošli provjeru. 6 Nadam se da ćete shvatiti da smo je mi prošli. 7 Molimo Boga da ne činite nikakvo zlo, ne da bi se pokazalo da smo mi prošli tu provjeru, nego da biste vi radili ispravno, čak i ako se pokaže da je mi nismo prošli. 8 Ne možemo napraviti ništa protiv istine, nego samo za istinu. 9 Sretni smo kad smo slabi, a vi jaki. I molimo za to da postanete još jači. 10 Zato vam i pišem ovo dok sam daleko od vas, da ne moram biti strog prema vama kad budem tamo. Jer, Gospodin mi je dao vlast da vas izgrađujem, a ne da vas uništavam.
11 Na kraju, braćo moja i sestre, radujte se i usavršavajte se. Poslušajte moju opomenu, budite složni i živite u miru pa će Bog, izvor ljubavi i mira, biti s vama! 12 Pozdravite jedni druge svetim poljupcem! Pozdravljaju vas svi sveti. 13 Neka sa svima vama bude milost Gospodina Isusa Krista, ljubav Boga i zajedništvo Svetog Duha.

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13 All the saints salute you.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
