劝勉和祝福
13 这是我第三次到你们那里去，各样事情必须凭两三个证人的口，才能确定。 2 我第二次到你们那里去的时候说过，现今不在你们那里，再预先对那些从前犯了罪的和其余的人说：我若再来，必不宽容， 3 因为你们在找基督借着我说话的凭据。基督对你们不是软弱的，相反地，在你们身上是有能力的。 4 他因着软弱被钉死了，却靠着 神的大能活着。我们在他里面也是软弱的，但靠着 神向你们所显的大能，也必与他一同活着。
5 你们应当察验自己是不是持守着信仰，也应当考验自己。难道不晓得基督耶稣是在你们里面吗？（除非你们是经不起考验的人。） 6 我盼望你们晓得，我们不是经不起考验的人。 7 我们祈求 神，使你们不作甚么恶事。这并不是要显明我们是经得起考验的，而是要你们行善；我们呢，就让我们作经不起考验的人好了！ 8 我们不能作甚么事违背真理，只能维护真理。 9 当我们软弱、你们刚强的时候，我们就欢喜；我们所求的，就是要你们完全。 10 因此，我趁着不在你们那里的时候，把这些话写给你们，到我来了，就不必凭着主所给我的权柄严厉地对待你们。这权柄不是要拆毁你们，而是要建立你们。
11 最后，弟兄们，你们要喜乐，要完全，要受安慰，要同心，要和睦。这样，施慈爱赐平安的 神必与你们同在。 12 你们要用圣洁的亲吻彼此问安。
13 众圣徒都问候你们。
14 愿主耶稣基督的恩惠， 神的慈爱，圣灵的契通，常与你们众人同在。

13 Det är nu tredje gången som jag skall komma till eder; »efter två eller tre vittnens utsago skall var sak avgöras».
2 Till dem som förut hava syndat och till alla de andra har jag redan i förväg sagt, och jag säger nu åter i förväg -- nu då jag är borta ifrån eder, likasom förut då jag för andra gången var hos eder -- att jag icke skall visa någon skonsamhet, när jag kommer igen.
3 I viljen ju hava ett bevis för att det är Kristus som talar i mig, han som icke är svag mot eder, utan är stark bland eder.
4 Ty om han än blev korsfäst i följd av svaghet, så lever han dock av Guds kraft. Också vi äro ju svaga i honom, men av Guds kraft skola vi leva med honom och bevisa det på eder.
5 Rannsaken eder själva, huruvida I ären i tron, ja, pröven eder själva. Eller kännen I icke med eder själva att Jesus Kristus är i eder? Varom icke, så hållen I ej provet.
6 Att vi för vår del icke äro av dem som ej hålla provet, det hoppas jag att I skolen få lära känna.
7 Men vi bedja till Gud att I icke mån göra något ont, detta icke för att vi å vår sida skola synas hålla provet, utan för att I själva verkligen skolen göra vad gott är. Sedan må vi å vår sida gärna anses icke hålla provet.
8 Ty icke mot sanningen, utan allenast för sanningen förmå vi något.
9 Och vi glädja oss, när vi äro svaga, men I ären starka. Just detta bedja vi också om, att I mån alltmer fullkomnas.
10 Och medan jag ännu är borta ifrån eder, skriver jag detta, för att jag icke, när jag är hos eder, skall nödgas uppträda med stränghet, i kraft av den myndighet som Herren har givit mig, till att uppbygga och icke till att nedbryta.
11 För övrigt, mina bröder, varen glada, låten fullkomna eder, låten förmana eder, varen ens till sinnes, hållen frid; då skall kärlekens och fridens Gud vara med eder.
12 Hälsen varandra med en helig kyss. Alla de heliga hälsa eder.
13 Herrens, Jesu Kristi, nåd och Guds kärlek och den helige Andes delaktighet vare med eder alla.

13 Voici donc la troisième fois[a] que je viendrai chez vous. Comme le dit l’Ecriture, toute affaire sera réglée sur les déclarations de deux ou trois témoins[b]. 2 Je vous ai déjà prévenus lors de ma seconde visite, et maintenant que je me trouve encore loin, je le répète à ceux qui ont péché précédemment, ainsi qu’à tous les autres : quand je reviendrai, j’agirai sans ménagements 3 puisque vous voulez avoir la preuve que Christ parle par moi ; car vous n’avez pas affaire à un Christ faible : il agit avec puissance parmi vous.
4 Certes, il est mort sur la croix à cause de sa faiblesse, mais il vit par la puissance de Dieu. Nous, de même, dans notre union avec lui, nous sommes faibles, mais nous nous montrerons vivants avec lui par la puissance de Dieu dans notre façon d’agir envers vous.
5 Faites donc vous-mêmes votre propre critique, et examinez-vous, pour voir si vous vivez dans la foi. Ne reconnaissez-vous pas que Jésus-Christ est en vous[c] ? A moins, peut-être, que cet examen n’aboutisse pour vous à un échec.
6 Mais vous reconnaîtrez, je l’espère, que nous, nous avons fait nos preuves ! 7 Ce que nous demandons à Dieu, c’est que vous vous absteniez de tout mal. Car, en fait, nous ne tenons pas du tout à montrer que nous avons fait nos preuves. Tout ce que nous désirons, c’est que vous fassiez le bien, même si l’épreuve paraît devoir tourner contre nous. 8 En effet, nous n’avons aucun pouvoir contre la vérité. C’est seulement pour la vérité que nous en avons. 9 Nous sommes contents d’être faibles si vous, vous êtes réellement forts. C’est justement ce que nous demandons à Dieu dans nos prières : votre perfectionnement. 10 Voilà pourquoi je vous écris tout cela pendant que je suis encore loin, pour qu’étant présent, je n’aie pas à faire usage, avec sévérité, de l’autorité que le Seigneur m’a donnée pour construire et non pour renverser[d].

11 J’ai terminé, frères et sœurs. Soyez dans la joie. Travaillez à votre perfectionnement. Encouragez-vous mutuellement. Soyez d’accord entre vous. Vivez dans la paix. Alors le Dieu d’amour et de paix sera avec vous.
12 Saluez-vous en vous donnant le baiser fraternel. Tous ceux qui, ici, font partie du peuple saint vous saluent. 13 Que la grâce du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, l’amour de Dieu et la communion du Saint-Esprit soient avec vous tous.

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13 All the saints salute you.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
