1 奉 神旨意作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，和提摩太弟兄，寫信給在哥林多 神的教會，和全亞該亞所有的聖徒。 2 願恩惠平安從我們的父 神和主耶穌基督臨到你們。
患難中 神賜安慰
3 我們主耶穌基督的父 神是應當稱頌的。他是滿有憐憫的父，賜各樣安慰的 神。 4 我們在一切患難中， 神都安慰我們，使我們能用他所賜的安慰，去安慰那些在各樣患難中的人。 5 我們既然多受基督所受的痛苦，就靠著基督多得安慰。 6 如果我們遭遇患難，那是要使你們得著安慰，得著拯救；如果我們得到安慰，也是要使你們得到安慰。這安慰使你們能夠忍受我們所受那樣的痛苦。 7 我們對你們的盼望是堅定的，因為知道你們既然一同受痛苦，也必照樣同得安慰。
8 弟兄們，我們在亞西亞遭受的患難，我們很想讓你們知道。那時我們受到了過於我們所能忍受的壓力，甚至活下去的希望都沒有了， 9 而且斷定自己是必死的了；然而，這正是要我們不倚靠自己，只倚靠那叫死人復活的 神。 10 他救我們脫離了那極大的死亡，而且他還要救我們，我們希望他將來仍要救我們。 11 請你們一同用禱告支持我們，好使許多人為著我們所蒙的恩獻上感謝。這恩是藉著許多人的代求而得到的。

15 我既然有這樣的信念，就打算先到你們那裡，使你們再一次得到恩惠， 16 然後經過你們那裡，往馬其頓去，再從馬其頓回到你們中間，讓你們給我送行往猶太去。 17 我這樣決定，難道是反覆不定嗎？我所決定的，難道是體貼肉體而定，使我忽是忽非嗎？ 18 神是信實的，我們向你們所傳的道並不是“是”而又“非”的， 19 因為我、西拉和提摩太，在你們中間所宣揚的耶穌基督， 神的兒子，並不是“是”而又“非”的，在他總是“是”的。 20 因為 神的一切應許，在基督裡都是“是”的，為此我們藉著他說“阿們”，使榮耀歸於 神。 21 那在基督裡堅定我們和你們，又膏抹我們的，就是 神。 22 他在我們身上蓋了印，就是賜聖靈在我們心裡作憑據。

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
13 For we write none other things unto you, that what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are our's in the day of the Lord Jesus.
15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;
16 And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea.
17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

1 ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ପାଉଲଙ୍କର ନମସ୍କାର। ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାରେ ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ହୋଇଛି। ଆମ୍ଭ ଭାଇ ତୀମଥି ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା ଜଣାନ୍ତି।

2 ଆମ୍ଭର ପିତା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଓ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଓ ଶାନ୍ତି ମିଳୁ।

3 ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ପିତା ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଶଂସା ହେଉ। ସେ ପିତା ଅଟନ୍ତି, ସେ କରୁଣାରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନାଦାତା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର। 4 ଆମ୍ଭ ଅସୁବିଧା ସମୟରେ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ସର୍ବଦା ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି, ଏବଂ ଆମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଅସୁବିଧା ସମୟରେ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରି ପାରିବା। ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରକାର ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେହିମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରି ପାରିବା। 5 ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କର ଅନେକ ଦୁଃଖ ଭୋଗର ଆମ୍ଭେ ସହଭାଗୀ ଅଟୁ। ସେହିଭଳି ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯେଉଁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ମିଳେ ତାହାର ସୀମା ନାହିଁ। 6 ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେ କଷ୍ଟରେ ରହିଛୁ, ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ଓ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଟ। ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ପାଇଛୁ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାଇଁ ଅଟେ। ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯାତନା ସହୁ, ସେହି ଯାତନା ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପୂର୍ବକ ସହିବା ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି। 7 ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଦୃଢ଼ ଭରସା ଅଛି। ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଯାତନାରେ ଭାଗୀ। ଅତଏବ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ସେହିଭିଳ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନାରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଂଶ ଅଛି।
8 ଭାଇ ଓ ଭଉଣୀମାନେ! ଏସିଆ ଦେଶରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଯାତନା ସହିଲୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଗ୍ଭହୁଁ ଯେପରି ସେହି ବିଷୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜାଣ। ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭାରାକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହୋଇ ପଡ଼ିଲୁ। ଏପରିକି ଏହା ଏତେ ଅଧିକ ଥିଲା ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜୀବନର ସମସ୍ତ ଆଶା ହରାଇଥିଲୁ। ସେହି ଭାର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବହନ କରିବା ଶକ୍ତିଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ଥିଲା। 9 ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅନୁଭବ କରୁଥିଲୁ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ମରିଯିବୁ। ଏପରି ଘଟିବାର କାରଣ ହେଲା ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଜ ଉପରେ ଭରସା ନ ରଖି ମାତ୍ର ଯେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରୁ ଉତ୍ଥିତ କରନ୍ତି ସେହି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ରଖିବା ଉଚିତ୍। 10 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଏହି ଭୟଙ୍କର ବିପଦରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲେ। ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସର୍ବଦା ଏପରି ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ, ଆଶାବାନ ଓ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସର୍ବଦା ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ। 11 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିଜ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିପାର। ଅନେକେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ ଦେବେ, ଯେହେତୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ।

12 ପୁଣି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୃଦୟର ସହ କହିପାରୁ ଯେ, ଏହି ଜଗତରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯାହାକିଛି କରୁଛୁ, ତାହା ସବୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପାଇଥିବା ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ଓ ଅକପଟ ହୃଦୟରେ କହୁଛୁ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଗର୍ବିତ। ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ କରା ଯାଇଥିବା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ଏହା ଅଧିକ ସତ୍ୟ। କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ଜାଗତିକ ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ନୁହେଁ ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ କୃପାରୁ କରୁଛୁ। 13 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ କଥାଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପଢ଼ି ପାରିବ ଓ ବୁଝି ପାରିବ, କେବଳ ସେହି କଥାଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଲେଖିଛୁ। 14 ଯେପରିକି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟରେ କିଛି କଥା ଆଗରୁ ବୁଝି ସାରିଛ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆଶା କରୁ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବରେ ବୁଝି ପାରିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏ କଥା ବୁଝି ପାରିବ ଯେ, ଯେପରି ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ଗର୍ବ କରୁଛ, ସେହିପରି ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଆସିବା ଦିନ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଗର୍ବ କରି ପାରିବୁ।
15 ମୋହର ଏହି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଥିବାରୁ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରଥମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିବା ପାଇଁ ଠିକ୍ କଲି। ଏହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୁଇଥର ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଲାଭ କରିବ। 16 ମାକିଦନିଆ ଯିବା ବାଟରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଯୋଜନା କଲି। ମାକିଦନିଆରୁ ଫେରିଲା ବେଳେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିବି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାହାଯ୍ୟରେ ଯିହୂଦା ଦେଶକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରିବି। 17 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ’ଣ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ, ଏହି ଯୋଜନାଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ କଲାବେଳେ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଚିନ୍ତା କରି ନ ଥିଲି? ବା ଜାଗତିକ ଜ୍ଞାନରେ କରିଥିଲି, ଯେ ଏକା ସମୟରେ “ହଁ, ହଁ” କହୁଥିବା ଓ “ନା, ନା” ମଧ୍ୟ କହୁଥିବି।
18 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଛ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିପାର ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା କହୁ ତାହାର ଉତ୍ତର “ହଁ” ଓ “ନା” ଉଭୟ ହୋଇ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। 19 ମୁଁ ଏବଂ ସିଲ୍ୱାନ୍ ଓ ତୀମଥିଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପ୍ରଗ୍ଭରିତ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଉଭୟ “ହଁ’ ଓ “ନା’ ଏକ ସମୟରେ କହନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କଠାରେ ସର୍ବଦା “ହଁ” କଥା “ହଁ” ହୁଏ। 20 କାରଣ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେଉଁ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କଠାରେ ସେ ସବୁଗଡ଼ିକ “ହଁ” ହୋଇଛି। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମହିମା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ନାମରେ “ଆମେନ୍” ବୋଲି କହିଥାଉ। 21 କେବଳ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କଠାରେ ଦୃଢ଼ କରି ରଖନ୍ତି। ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତାହାଙ୍କର ବିଶେଷ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଆମକୁ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି। 22 ସେ ଆମ୍ଭଠାରେ ନିଜ ଅଧିକାରର ମୋହର ଲଗାଇଛନ୍ତି, ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଏହା ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦିଏ ଯେ, ସେ ଯାହା ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଦେବେ।
23 ମୁଁ କରିନ୍ଥୀକୁ ଆଉ ଥରେ ଆସି ନ ଥିଲି କାରଣ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ ଦେବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁ ନ ଥିଲି। 24 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏଥିର ସାକ୍ଷୀ। ମୋ’ କହିବା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିଶ୍ୱାସକୁ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରିତ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସରେ ଦୃଢ଼ କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସହକର୍ମୀ।
