祝福
1 奉神旨意、蒙召做耶稣基督使徒的保罗，同兄弟所提尼， 2 写信给在哥林多神的教会，就是在基督耶稣里成圣、蒙召做圣徒的，以及所有在各处求告我主耶稣基督之名的人。基督是他们的主，也是我们的主。 3 愿恩惠、平安从神我们的父并主耶稣基督归于你们！
感谢
4 我常为你们感谢我的神，因神在基督耶稣里所赐给你们的恩惠， 5 又因你们在他里面凡事富足，口才、知识都全备。 6 正如我为基督作的见证在你们心里得以坚固， 7 以致你们在恩赐上没有一样不及人的，等候我们的主耶稣基督显现。 8 他也必坚固你们到底，叫你们在我们主耶稣基督的日子无可责备。 9 神是信实的，你们原是被他所召，好与他儿子我们的主耶稣基督一同得份。
劝弟兄相合
10 弟兄们，我借我们主耶稣基督的名，劝你们都说一样的话，你们中间也不可分党，只要一心一意，彼此相合。 11 因为革来氏家里的人曾对我提起弟兄们来，说你们中间有纷争。 12 我的意思就是，你们各人说“我是属保罗的”、“我是属亚波罗的”、“我是属矶法的”、“我是属基督的”。 13 基督是分开的吗？保罗为你们钉了十字架吗？你们是奉保罗的名受了洗吗？ 14 我感谢神，除了基利司布并该犹以外，我没有给你们一个人施洗， 15 免得有人说，你们是奉我的名受洗。 16 我也给司提反家施过洗，此外给别人施洗没有，我却记不清。 17 基督差遣我原不是为施洗，乃是为传福音；并不用智慧的言语，免得基督的十字架落了空。
基督是神的能力和智慧
18 因为十字架的道理，在那灭亡的人为愚拙，在我们得救的人却为神的大能。 19 就如经上所记：“我要灭绝智慧人的智慧，废弃聪明人的聪明。” 20 智慧人在哪里？文士在哪里？这世上的辩士在哪里？神岂不是叫这世上的智慧变成愚拙吗？ 21 世人凭自己的智慧既不认识神，神就乐意用人所当做愚拙的道理，拯救那些信的人，这就是神的智慧了。 22 犹太人是要神迹，希腊人是求智慧， 23 我们却是传钉十字架的基督——在犹太人为绊脚石，在外邦人为愚拙， 24 但在那蒙召的，无论是犹太人、希腊人，基督总为神的能力、神的智慧。 25 因神的愚拙总比人智慧，神的软弱总比人强壮。
世人厌恶的乃神所拣选
26 弟兄们哪，可见你们蒙召的，按着肉体有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊贵的也不多。 27 神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。 28 神也拣选了世上卑贱的、被人厌恶的以及那无有的，为要废掉那有的， 29 使一切有血气的，在神面前一个也不能自夸。 30 但你们得在基督耶稣里，是本乎神，神又使他成为我们的智慧、公义、圣洁、救赎。 31 如经上所记：“夸口的，当指着主夸口。”

1 하나님의 뜻에 따라 그리스도 예수님의 사도로 부르심을 받은 나 바울과 믿음의 형제 소스데네는
2 고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회와 그리스도 예수님 안에서 거룩함을 입어 성도가 된 사람들과 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 주님으로 믿고 그 이름을 부르는 각처의 모든 사람들에게
3 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 평안이 함께하기를 기도합니다.
교회 안의 분쟁
4 나는 그리스도 예수님을 통해 여러분에게 은혜를 주신 하나님께 늘 감사하고 있습니다.
5 이것은 여러분이 그리스도 안에서 말과 지식을 포함하여 모든 일에 풍성한 복을 받았기 때문입니다.
6 그래서 여러분은 그리스도에 대하여 증거한 말씀을 굳게 믿고
7 모든 영적인 축복을 누리면서 다시 오실 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 기다리고 있습니다.
8 그분은 [a]재림하시는 날에 여러분이 흠 없는 자가 되도록 끝까지 지켜 주실 것입니다.

13 그리스도가 그렇게 나누어졌습니까? 바울이 여러분을 위해 십자가에 못박혔습니까? 아니면 여러분이 바울의 이름으로 [c]세례를 받았습니까?
14 나는 여러분 가운데서 그리스보와 가이오 외에는 아무에게도 [d]세례를 주지 않은 것을 하나님께 감사하고 있습니다.
15 그래서 여러분은 아무도 내 이름으로 세례를 받았다고 말할 수가 없습니다.
16 스데바나의 가족에게 세례를 주긴 했지만 그 밖에는 아무에게도 세례를 준 기억이 없습니다.
17 그리스도께서는 세례를 주라고 나를 보내신 것이 아니라 기쁜 소식을 전파하라고 나를 보내셨습니다. 그리고 인간의 지혜로운 말로 하지 않는 것은 그리스도의 십자가가 헛되지 않도록 하기 위한 것입니다.
하나님의 능력과 지혜이신 그리스도
18 십자가의 [e]진리가 멸망하는 사람들에게는 어리석은 것이지만 구원받은 우리에게는 하나님의 능력이 됩니다.
19 성경에도 [f]“내가 지혜로운 사람들의 지혜를 없애고 총명한 사람들의 총명을 쓸모없게 할 것이다” 라고 기록되어 있습니다.
20 그렇다면 지혜 있는 사람이 어디 있으며 학자가 어디 있습니까? 이 시대에 철학자가 어디 있습니까? 하나님께서는 세상의 모든 지혜를 어리석게 하시지 않았습니까?
21 하나님은 세상 사람들이 그들의 지혜로는 자기를 알지 못하게 하시고 오히려 그들의 눈에 어리석게 보이는 전도의 말씀으로 믿는 사람을 구원하려 하셨습니다.
22 유대인은 기적을 보기 원하고 그리스 사람은 지혜를 찾으나
23 우리는 십자가에 못박히신 그리스도를 전합니다. 이것이 유대인에게는 거치는 돌이며 이방인에게는 어리석은 것입니다.
24 그러나 부르심을 받은 사람에게는 유대인이나 그리스 사람이나 그리스도는 하나님의 능력과 지혜입니다.
25 사람이 보기에 하나님의 어리석음은 사람의 지혜보다 지혜롭고 사람이 보기에 하나님의 연약함은 사람의 강한 것보다 강합니다.
26 형제 여러분, 하나님이 여러분을 부르셨을 때 여러분이 어떠했는지를 한번 생각해 보십시오. 인간적으로 볼 때 여러분 가운데는 지혜로운 사람도 많지 않았고 유능한 사람도 많지 않았으며 가문이 좋은 사람도 많지 않았습니다.
27 그러나 하나님은 세상의 지혜로운 사람과 강한 사람들을 부끄럽게 하시려고 어리석고 약한 사람들을 택하시고
28 세상이 대단한 인물로 여기는 사람들을 형편없이 낮추려고 천한 사람과 멸시받는 사람과 보잘것없는 사람들을 택하셨습니다.
29 이것은 아무도 하나님 앞에서 자랑하지 못하게 하려는 것입니다.
30 여러분은 하나님 때문에 그리스도 예수님 안에 있게 되었는데 예수님은 하나님께로부터 와서 [g]우리의 지혜가 되셨고 또 우리를 의롭게 하고 거룩하게 하며 우리 죄값을 지불하여 우리를 구원해 주신 분이십니다.
31 그러므로 이것은 성경의 [h]“자랑하는 사람은 주 안에서 자랑하라” 는 말씀과 같습니다.

1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
