问安
1 照着神的旨意蒙召做基督耶稣使徒的保罗，以及弟兄索提尼，
2 致那在哥林多属神的教会，就是在基督耶稣里被分别为圣、蒙召成为圣徒的人，以及所有在各地求告我们主耶稣基督之名的人。基督是他们的主，也是我们的主。
3 愿恩典与平安从神我们的父和主耶稣基督临到你们！
感恩
4 我常常为你们感谢我的[a]神，因你们在基督耶稣里被赐予了神的恩典， 5 使你们在基督里凡事都得以富足——在一切话语上、一切知识上—— 6 正如有关基督的见证在你们中间得以确立， 7 以致你们在任何恩赐上都不缺乏，热切等待着我们主耶稣基督的显现。 8 他也将使你们坚定到底，使你们在我们主耶稣基督的日子[b]无可指责。 9 神是信实的；你们已经被他召唤，进到与他的儿子——我们主耶稣基督的契合里。
教会中的纷争
10 弟兄们，我藉着我们主耶稣基督的名，恳求你们大家言语一致；你们中间不要分裂，而要在同一个心思、同一个目的上得以完备。 11 我的弟兄们，事实上，克洛伊家的一些人告诉了我有关你们的事，说你们中间有纷争。 12 这就是说：你们各自声称“我是属保罗的”，或“我是属阿波罗的”，或“我是属矶法的”，或“我是属基督的”。 13 难道基督是被分割的吗？[c]难道保罗为你们被钉十字架了吗？或者你们受洗[d]是归入保罗的名[e]吗？ 14 我感谢神[f]，除了克里斯普和盖尤斯以外，我没有给你们任何人施过洗， 15 免得有人说，你们是奉我的名受洗。 16 我虽然也给司提法纳的一家人施过洗，此外我却不记得是否给其他人施过洗。 17 要知道，基督差派我，不是为了施洗[g]，而是为了传福音——并不用智慧的话语，免得基督的十字架落了空。
基督是神的大能和智慧
18 原来，十字架的福音[h]对那些正在灭亡的人来说，是愚拙的；但是对我们这些正在被拯救的人来说，却是神的大能。 19 因为经上记着：
“我将要毁灭智慧人的智慧，
废弃聪明人的聪明。”[i]
20 智慧人在哪里？经文士在哪里？这世代的雄辩家在哪里？神难道不使这世界的智慧成了愚拙吗？ 21 实际上，在神的智慧中，世界既然凭智慧不认识神，神就乐意藉着传道的愚拙，拯救那些相信的人。 22 虽然犹太人求神迹，希腊人寻智慧， 23 但我们却传扬被钉十字架的基督——对犹太人来说是绊脚石，对外邦人[j]来说是愚拙的； 24 不过对那些蒙召的人，无论是犹太人、或是希腊人，基督总是神的大能、神的智慧。 25 因为神的愚拙比人更智慧，神的软弱比人更强壮。
当以主夸耀
26 弟兄们，想一想你们所蒙的召唤：按人的标准[k]，你们当中[l]有智慧的不多，有权势的不多，出身高贵的也不多。 27 然而神却拣选了世上愚拙的，为了使那些有智慧的羞愧；神又拣选了世上软弱的，为了使那些强壮的羞愧； 28 神也拣选了世上出身低微的、被人藐视的，就是那些不是什么的，为了要废除那些是个什么的， 29 好使所有的人[m]在神面前都不能自夸， 30 但本于神，你们却是在基督耶稣里的。基督耶稣为我们成了从神而来的智慧、公义、圣洁和救赎， 31 为要像经上所记的：“夸耀的当在主里夸耀。”[n]

問候
1 我是按上帝旨意蒙召作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，同所提尼弟兄， 2 寫信給在哥林多的上帝的教會，就是在基督耶穌裡得以聖潔、蒙召做聖徒的，以及各地求告我們主耶穌基督之名的人。基督是他們的主，也是我們的主。
3 願我們的父上帝和主耶穌基督賜給你們恩典和平安！
保羅的感恩
4 我常常為你們感謝我的上帝，因為祂在基督耶穌裡賜給了你們恩典， 5 使你們在基督裡凡事富足，有全備的口才和知識。 6 這樣，我為基督所做的見證就在你們身上得到了證實。 7 因此，你們在殷切等候我們主耶穌基督再來的期間，並不缺少任何屬靈的恩賜。 8 我們的主耶穌基督必扶持你們到底，使你們在祂再來的日子無可指責。 9 上帝是信實的，祂呼召你們是要你們與祂的兒子——我們的主耶穌基督相交。
信徒要同心合意
10 親愛的弟兄姊妹，我奉主耶穌基督的名勸你們，要同心合意，不可結黨紛爭，要團結一致， 11 因為革來家的人把各位弟兄姊妹的事情告訴了我，說你們中間有紛爭。 12 我的意思是你們有人說：「我是跟隨保羅的」，有人說：「我是跟隨亞波羅的」，有人說：「我是跟隨彼得的」，有人說：「我是跟隨基督的」。 13 難道基督是分成幾派的嗎？替你們釘十字架的是保羅嗎？你們是奉保羅的名受洗的嗎？
14 感謝上帝，除了基利司布和該猶以外，我沒有為你們任何人施洗， 15 所以沒有人能說是奉我的名受洗的。 16 不錯，我也曾為司提法納的家人施洗，除此以外，我不記得還為誰施洗了。 17 基督不是差遣我去為人施洗，而是去傳揚福音，而且不用高言大智，免得基督十字架的能力被抹摋。
上帝的智慧
18 因為十字架之道在將要滅亡的人看來是愚昧的，但對我們這些得救的人來說卻是上帝的大能， 19 正如聖經上說：「我要摧毀智者的智慧，廢棄明哲的聰明。」
20 這個世代所謂的智者、學者、雄辯家在哪裡？上帝豈不是把這世上的智慧都變成愚昧了嗎？ 21 上帝運用自己的智慧不讓世人憑自己的智慧去認識祂，祂樂意採用世人看為愚昧的道理去拯救那些相信的人，這就是上帝的智慧。
22 猶太人要看神蹟，希臘人尋求智慧， 23 但我們傳講被釘十字架的基督。這對猶太人來說是絆腳石，對外族人來說是愚昧的。 24 但對於蒙召的人，無論是猶太人還是希臘人，基督是上帝的能力、上帝的智慧。 25 因為上帝的「愚昧」也勝過世人的智慧，上帝的「軟弱」也勝過世人的剛強。
26 弟兄姊妹，想想你們蒙召時的情形。按人的標準來衡量，你們當中稱得上有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，出身名門望族的也不多。 27 但上帝揀選了世人看為愚昧的，要使智者羞愧；上帝揀選了世上軟弱的，要使強者蒙羞； 28 上帝揀選了世上卑賤的、被藐視的和無足輕重的，要使世人看為舉足輕重的變得無足輕重。 29 這樣，誰都不能在上帝面前自誇了。
30 上帝使你們活在基督耶穌裡，祂使基督耶穌成為我們的智慧、公義、聖潔和救贖。 31 所以，正如聖經上說：「要誇耀，就當誇耀主的作為。」

1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
