大巴比倫傾倒
18 這些事以後，我看見有另一位掌大權柄的天使，從天上降下來，他的榮光照亮了大地。 2 他用強有力的聲音呼喊說：
“傾倒了！大巴比倫傾倒了！
成了鬼魔的住處，
各樣污靈的監獄，
一切污穢可憎之雀鳥的牢籠，
3 因為各國都喝她淫亂烈怒的酒醉了；
地上的君王與她行淫，
世上的商人因她奢華揮霍就發了財。”
4 我聽見另一個聲音從天上來，說：
“從那城出來吧，我的子民！
免得在她的罪上有分，
受她所受的災難；
5 因為她的罪惡滔天，
神已經想起她的不義來。
6 她怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待她；
照著她所作的，加倍報應她；
用她調酒的杯，加倍調給她。
7 她怎樣炫耀自己，怎樣奢華揮霍，
你們也要怎樣給她痛苦悲哀。
因為她心裡常常說：
‘我坐著作女王，
我不是寡婦，
決不會看見悲哀。’
8 因此，在一日之內她的災難必然來到，
就是死亡、悲哀和饑荒；
她還要在火中被燒掉，
因為審判她的主 神是大有能力的。
9 “地上的眾王，就是跟她一同行邪淫、驕奢無度的，看見焚燒她的煙的時候，就必為她痛哭捶胸。 10 他們因為害怕她所受的痛苦，就遠遠地站著，說：
‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城，
巴比倫，這堅固的城啊！
一時之間你的審判就來到了！’
11 “地上的商人也為她悲哀痛哭，因為沒有人再買他們的貨物： 12 就是金、銀、寶石、珍珠；細麻布、紫色布、絲綢、朱紅色布；各樣香木，各樣象牙製品，各樣極貴重的木器、銅器、鐵器、大理石製品； 13 肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香；酒、油、麵粉、麥子；牛、羊、馬、車、奴僕、人口。 14 你所貪戀的果子離開你了！一切珍饈美味、華麗的美物，都從你那裡消失，再也找不到了！ 15 販賣這些貨物，藉著她發了財的商人，因為害怕她受的痛苦，就遠遠地站著，痛哭悲哀， 16 說：
‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城啊！
就是一向穿著細麻布、
紫色、朱紅色的衣服，
佩戴著金子、
寶石和珍珠裝飾的，
17 一時之間，這麼大的財富竟蕩然無存！’
“所有船長、旅客、水手，以及凡是靠海謀生的，都遠遠地站著。 18 他們看見了焚燒她的煙，就喊叫說：‘有哪一座城能與這大城相比呢？’ 19 他們又把塵土撒在自己頭上，痛哭悲哀，喊著說：
‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城啊！
凡是有船航行海上的，
都因這城的財寶發了財；
一時之間她竟成了荒場！’
20 天哪，你要因她歡喜！
眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，
你們也要因她歡喜！
因為 神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。”
21 有一位大力的天使，把一塊好像大磨石一樣的石頭，舉起來拋在海裡，說：
“巴比倫大城也必這樣被猛力地拋下去，
決不能再找到了！
22 彈琴、奏樂、
吹笛、吹號的聲音，
在你中間決不能再聽到了！
各樣手藝技工，
在你中間決不能再找到了！
推磨的聲音，
在你中間決不能再聽到了！
23 燈的亮光，
在你中間決不能再照耀了！
新郎新娘的聲音，
在你中間決不能再聽到了！
你的商人一向都是地上的大人物，
萬國都因你的邪術受了迷惑。
24 先知、聖徒和地上一切被殺的人的血，
都在這城裡找到了！”

18 此 後 ， 我 看 見 另 有 一 位 有 大 權 柄 的 天 使 從 天 降 下 ， 地 就 因 他 的 榮 耀 發 光 。
2 他 大 聲 喊 著 說 ： 巴 比 倫 大 城 傾 倒 了 ！ 傾 倒 了 ！ 成 了 鬼 魔 的 住 處 和 各 樣 污 穢 之 靈 的 巢 穴 （ 或 作 ： 牢 獄 ； 下 同 ） ， 並 各 樣 污 穢 可 憎 之 雀 鳥 的 巢 穴 。
3 因 為 列 國 都 被 他 邪 淫 大 怒 的 酒 傾 倒 了 。 地 上 的 君 王 與 他 行 淫 ； 地 上 的 客 商 因 他 奢 華 太 過 就 發 了 財 。
4 我 又 聽 見 從 天 上 有 聲 音 說 ： 我 的 民 哪 ， 你 們 要 從 那 城 出 來 ， 免 得 與 他 一 同 有 罪 ， 受 他 所 受 的 災 殃 ；
5 因 他 的 罪 惡 滔 天 ； 他 的 不 義 神 已 經 想 起 來 了 。

8 所 以 在 一 天 之 內 ， 他 的 災 殃 要 一 齊 來 到 ， 就 是 死 亡 、 悲 哀 、 饑 荒 。 他 又 要 被 火 燒 盡 了 ， 因 為 審 判 他 的 主 神 大 有 能 力 。

12 這 貨 物 就 是 金 、 銀 、 寶 石 、 珍 珠 、 細 麻 布 、 紫 色 料 、 綢 子 、 朱 紅 色 料 、 各 樣 香 木 、 各 樣 象 牙 的 器 皿 、 各 樣 極 寶 貴 的 木 頭 ， 和 銅 、 鐵 、 漢 白 玉 的 器 皿 ，
13 並 肉 桂 、 荳 蔻 、 香 料 、 香 膏 、 乳 香 、 酒 、 油 、 細 麵 、 麥 子 、 牛 、 羊 、 車 、 馬 ， 和 奴 僕 、 人 口 。
14 巴 比 倫 哪 ， 你 所 貪 愛 的 果 子 離 開 了 你 ； 你 一 切 的 珍 饈 美 味 ， 和 華 美 的 物 件 也 從 你 中 間 毀 滅 ， 決 不 能 再 見 了 。
15 販 賣 這 些 貨 物 、 藉 著 他 發 了 財 的 客 商 ， 因 怕 他 的 痛 苦 ， 就 遠 遠 的 站 著 哭 泣 悲 哀 ， 說 ：
16 哀 哉 ！ 哀 哉 ！ 這 大 城 阿 ， 素 常 穿 著 細 麻 、 紫 色 、 朱 紅 色 的 衣 服 ， 又 用 金 子 、 寶 石 ， 和 珍 珠 為 妝 飾 。
17 一 時 之 間 ， 這 麼 大 的 富 厚 就 歸 於 無 有 了 。 凡 船 主 和 坐 船 往 各 處 去 的 ， 並 眾 水 手 ， 連 所 有 靠 海 為 業 的 ， 都 遠 遠 的 站 著 ，
18 看 見 燒 他 的 煙 ， 就 喊 著 說 ： 有 何 城 能 比 這 大 城 呢 ？
19 他 們 又 把 塵 土 撒 在 頭 上 ， 哭 泣 悲 哀 ， 喊 著 說 ： 哀 哉 ！ 哀 哉 ！ 這 大 城 阿 。 凡 有 船 在 海 中 的 ， 都 因 他 的 珍 寶 成 了 富 足 ！ 他 在 一 時 之 間 就 成 了 荒 場 ！
20 天 哪 ， 眾 聖 徒 、 眾 使 徒 、 眾 先 知 阿 ， 你 們 都 要 因 他 歡 喜 ， 因 為 神 已 經 在 他 身 上 伸 了 你 們 的 冤 。
21 有 一 位 大 力 的 天 使 舉 起 一 塊 石 頭 ， 好 像 大 磨 石 ， 扔 在 海 裡 ， 說 ： 巴 比 倫 大 城 也 必 這 樣 猛 力 的 被 扔 下 去 ， 決 不 能 再 見 了 。
22 彈 琴 、 作 樂 、 吹 笛 、 吹 號 的 聲 音 ， 在 你 中 間 決 不 能 再 聽 見 ； 各 行 手 藝 人 在 你 中 間 決 不 能 再 遇 見 ； 推 磨 的 聲 音 在 你 中 間 決 不 能 再 聽 見 ；
23 燈 光 在 你 中 間 決 不 能 再 照 耀 ； 新 郎 和 新 婦 的 聲 音 ， 在 你 中 間 決 不 能 再 聽 見 。 你 的 客 商 原 來 是 地 上 的 尊 貴 人 ； 萬 國 也 被 你 的 邪 術 迷 惑 了 。
24 先 知 和 聖 徒 ， 並 地 上 一 切 被 殺 之 人 的 血 ， 都 在 這 城 裡 看 見 了 。

Lament Over Fallen Babylon
18 After this I saw another angel(A) coming down from heaven.(B) He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.(C) 2 With a mighty voice he shouted:
“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’[a](D)
She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,(E)
a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.(F)
3 For all the nations have drunk
the maddening wine of her adulteries.(G)
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,(H)
and the merchants of the earth grew rich(I) from her excessive luxuries.”(J)
Warning to Escape Babylon’s Judgment
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’[b](K)
so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues;(L)
5 for her sins are piled up to heaven,(M)
and God has remembered(N) her crimes.
6 Give back to her as she has given;
pay her back(O) double(P) for what she has done.
Pour her a double portion from her own cup.(Q)
7 Give her as much torment and grief
as the glory and luxury she gave herself.(R)
In her heart she boasts,
‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow;[c]
I will never mourn.’(S)
8 Therefore in one day(T) her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,(U)
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
Threefold Woe Over Babylon’s Fall
9 “When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her(V) and shared her luxury(W) see the smoke of her burning,(X) they will weep and mourn over her.(Y) 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off(Z) and cry:
11 “The merchants(AC) of the earth will weep and mourn(AD) over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore(AE)— 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble;(AF) 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves.(AG)
14 “They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’ 15 The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her(AH) will stand far off,(AI) terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn(AJ) 16 and cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,(AK)
dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet,
and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!(AL)
17 In one hour(AM) such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’(AN)
“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea,(AO) will stand far off.(AP) 18 When they see the smoke of her burning,(AQ) they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city(AR)?’(AS) 19 They will throw dust on their heads,(AT) and with weeping and mourning(AU) cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,(AV)
where all who had ships on the sea
became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’(AW)
20 “Rejoice over her, you heavens!(AX)
Rejoice, you people of God!
Rejoice, apostles and prophets!
For God has judged her
with the judgment she imposed on you.”(AY)
The Finality of Babylon’s Doom
21 Then a mighty angel(AZ) picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea,(BA) and said:
“With such violence
the great city(BB) of Babylon will be thrown down,
never to be found again.
22 The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters,
will never be heard in you again.(BC)
No worker of any trade
will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone
will never be heard in you again.(BD)
23 The light of a lamp
will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
will never be heard in you again.(BE)
Your merchants were the world’s important people.(BF)
By your magic spell(BG) all the nations were led astray.
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people,(BH)
of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”(BI)
