Orthodox Jewish Bible
27 Yotam was twenty and five shanah when he began to reign, and he was king sixteen shanah in Yerushalayim. The shem immo also was Yerushah bat Tzadok.
2 And he did that which was yashar (right) in the eyes of Hashem, according to all that his av Uziyah did; howbeit he entered not into the Heikhal Hashem. And the people did corruptly still.
3 He built the upper sha’ar Beis Hashem, and on the chomat Ophel he built much.
4 Moreover he built towns in the har Yehudah, and in the forests he built fortresses and migdalim.
5 He fought also with Melech Bnei Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the Bnei Ammon gave him the same year a hundred talents of kesef, and ten thousand measures of chittim (wheat), and ten thousand of se’orim (barley). The Bnei Ammon did pay this amount unto him, both the second year, and the third.
6 So Yotam became mighty, because he made the darkhei Yotam steadfast before Hashem Elohav.
7 Now the rest of the divrei Yotam, and all his milchamot, and his ways, lo, they are written in the sefer of the melachim of Yisroel and Yehudah.
8 He was five and twenty shanah when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen shanah in Yerushalayim.
9 And Yotam slept with his avot, and they buried him in Ir Dovid; and Achaz bno reigned in his place.

Jotham King of Judah(A)
27 Jotham(B) was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok. 2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done, but unlike him he did not enter the temple of the Lord. The people, however, continued their corrupt practices. 3 Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the temple of the Lord and did extensive work on the wall at the hill of Ophel.(C) 4 He built towns in the hill country of Judah and forts and towers in the wooded areas.
5 Jotham waged war against the king of the Ammonites(D) and conquered them. That year the Ammonites paid him a hundred talents[a] of silver, ten thousand cors[b] of wheat and ten thousand cors[c] of barley. The Ammonites brought him the same amount also in the second and third years.
6 Jotham grew powerful(E) because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.
7 The other events in Jotham’s reign, including all his wars and the other things he did, are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. 8 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. 9 Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. And Ahaz his son succeeded him as king.

He overpowered the Ammonites, and that year they gave him 7,500 pounds[a] of silver, 50,000 bushels[b] of wheat, and 50,000 bushels[c] of barley. They paid him the same in the second and third years. 6 So Jotham strengthened himself because he did not waver in obeying[d] the Lord his God.(F)
