2 所罗门决意要为耶和华的名建造殿宇，又为自己建造王宫。（本节在《马索拉文本》为1:18） 2 于是，所罗门选派了七万人作挑夫，八万人在山上凿石，三千六百人作督工。（本节在《马索拉文本》为2:1） 3 所罗门派人去见推罗王希兰说：“你怎样待我的父亲大卫，给他运来香柏木，为他建造宫殿居住，请你也这样待我。 4 现在我要为耶和华我　神的名建造殿宇，分别为圣献给他，在他面前焚烧芬芳的香，经常摆上陈设饼，每日早晚、安息日、初一，以及耶和华我们的　神所定的节日，都献上燔祭；这是以色列人永远的定例。 5 我要建造的殿宇必须宏伟，因为我们的　神伟大，超过众神。 6 但谁能为他建造殿宇呢？天和天上的天也容不下他；我是谁，怎能为他建造殿宇？我不过在他面前烧香罢了。 7 现在请你派一个巧匠到我这里来，他要精于使用金、银、铜、铁和紫色朱红色蓝色线工作，并且懂得雕刻，好与我的父亲大卫在犹大和耶路撒冷预备的巧匠一同工作。 8 又请你从黎巴嫩运送香柏木、松木和檀香木到我这里来，因为我知道你的臣仆善于砍伐黎巴嫩的树木；我的臣仆可以和你的臣仆一同工作。 9 给我预备大量的木材，因为我要建造的那殿宇，将会十分宏伟。 10 至于你的仆人，就是砍伐树木的人，我必给他们食物，就是小麦四百万公升、大麦四百万公升、酒四十万公升、油四十万公升。”

推罗王答应相助(B)

11 推罗王希兰回信给所罗门说：“耶和华因为爱自己的子民，所以立你作他们的王。” 12 希兰又说：“创造天地的耶和华以色列的　神，是应当称颂的！因为他赐给大卫王一个有智慧的儿子，有聪明有见识，可以为耶和华建造殿宇，为自己建造王宫。 13 现在我派一个技艺精巧、满有聪明的人来，他是我父亲希兰的匠人。 14 他是但支派一个妇人的儿子，他的父亲是推罗人。他精于使用金、银、铜、铁、石、木，以及紫色蓝色朱红色线和细麻作工，也能作各样雕刻的工作，又能设计各样交托他们的巧工。这人可以和你的巧匠，以及我主你父亲大卫的巧匠一同工作。 15 我主所说的小麦、大麦、酒和油，请派人运来给众仆人。 16 我们必照着你所需要的，从黎巴嫩砍下树木，扎成木筏，从海上运到约帕，你可以从那里把它们运上耶路撒冷。”

Solomon Will Build a Temple and a Palace

2 [a](A)Now Solomon [b]decided to build a house for the name of the Lord, and a [c]royal palace for himself. 2 [d]So (B)Solomon [e]assigned seventy thousand men to carry loads, eighty thousand men to quarry stone in the mountains, and 3,600 to supervise them.

3 (C)Then Solomon sent word to [f]Huram the king of Tyre, saying, “(D)As you dealt with my father David and sent him cedars to build him a house to live in, do it for me. 4 Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, dedicating it to Him, (E)to burn fragrant incense before Him and to set out (F)the showbread continually, and to offer (G)burnt offerings morning and evening, (H)on Sabbaths, on new moons, and on the appointed feasts of the Lord our God. This is to be done in Israel forever. 5 The house which I am about to build will be great, for our God is (I)greater than all the gods. 6 But (J)who is able to build a house for Him, since the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain Him? And who am I, that I should build a house for Him, except to [g]burn incense before Him? 7 Now (K)send me a skilled man to work in gold, silver, brass, iron, and in purple, crimson, and violet fabrics, one who knows how to make engravings, to work with the skilled workers [h](L)whom I have in Judah and Jerusalem, whom my father David provided. 8 (M)Send me also cedar, juniper, and algum timber from Lebanon, for I know that your servants know how to cut timber of Lebanon; and indeed (N)my servants will work with your servants, 9 to prepare timber in abundance for me, for the house which I am about to build will be great and wonderful. 10 Now behold, (O)I will give your servants, the woodsmen who cut the timber, [i]twenty thousand kors of crushed wheat, twenty thousand kors of barley, [j]twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.”

Huram to Assist

11 Then Huram, king of Tyre, [k]answered in a letter sent to Solomon: “(P)Because the Lord loves His people, He has made you king over them.” 12 Then Huram [l]continued, “Blessed be (Q)the Lord, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, [m]endowed with discretion and understanding, (R)who will build a house for the Lord and a [n]royal palace for himself.

13 “Now then, I am sending Huram-abi, a skilled man, [o]endowed with understanding, 14 (S)the son of a [p]Danite woman and [q]a Tyrian father, who knows how to work in gold, silver, bronze, iron, stone, and wood, and in purple, violet, linen, and crimson fabrics, and who knows how to make all kinds of engravings and to [r]execute any design which is assigned to him, to work with your skilled workers and with [s]those of my lord, your father David. 15 Now then, let my lord send his servants wheat and barley, oil and wine, of (T)which he has spoken. 16 (U)We will cut whatever timber you need from Lebanon and bring it to you as rafts by sea to Joppa, so that you may carry it up to Jerusalem.”

17 Solomon counted all the foreigners who were in the land of Israel, (V)following the [t]census which his father David had [u]taken; and 153,600 were found. 18 (W)He appointed seventy thousand of them to carry loads and eighty thousand to quarry stones in the mountains, and 3,600 supervisors to make the people work.

2 (1-18) І Соломон наказав будувати дім для Господнього Ймення та дім царський для себе.

2 (2-1) І відлічив Соломон сімдесят тисяч чоловіка носіїв та вісімдесят тисяч чоловіка каменотесів у горах, а керівників над ними три тисячі й шість сотень.

3 (2-2) І послав Соломон до Хірама, царя тирського, говорячи: Як зробив ти з батьком моїм Давидом, і послав був йому кедри на будову дому його, щоб сидіти в ньому, так зроби й мені.

4 (2-3) Ось я будую храм для Ймення Господа, Бога мого, щоб присвятити Йому, щоб кадити перед Його лицем запашне кадило, і для постійного покладення хліба та для цілопалення на ранок і на вечір, на суботи й на молодики та на свята Господа, Бога нашого. Навіки це над Ізраїлем!

5 (2-4) А храм, якого я будую, великий, бо Бог наш більший від усіх богів!

6 (2-5) А хто має силу збудувати Йому храма, коли небо й небеса небес не обіймають Його? І хто я, що збудую Йому храма? Хіба тільки на кадіння перед лицем Його!

7 (2-6) А тепер пошли мені чоловіка, здібного до роботи в золоті, і в сріблі, і в міді, і в залізі, і в пурпурі, і в червені, і в блакиті, і що вміє вирізувати різьби, разом із тими мистцями, що зо мною в Юді та в Єрусалимі, яких приготовив батько мій Давид.

8 (2-7) І пошли мені з Ливану дерева кедрового, кипарисового та сандалового, бо я знаю, що твої раби вміють рубати дерева ливанські. І оце мої раби будуть рабами твоїми,

9 (2-8) щоб наготовити мені безліч дерева, бо цей храм, що я будую, буде великий та пишний!

10 (2-9) А ось дереворубам, що стинають дерева, рабам твоїм, дав я пшениці, як поживи, двадцять тисяч корів, та ячменю двадцять тисяч корів, і вина двадцять тисяч батів, і оливи двадцять тисяч батів.

11 (2-10) І сказав Хірам, цар тирський, листом і послав до Соломона: Через любов Господа до народу Свого поставив Він тебе над ними за царя.

12 (2-11) І сказав Хірам: Благословенний Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, що вчинив небеса та землю, що дав цареві Давидові сина мудрого, який має розум та багатий на знання, що збудує дім Господній та дім царський для себе!

13 (2-12) А тепер я посилаю мудрого чоловіка, що має знання, Хурам-Аві,

14 (2-13) сина жінки з Данових дочок, а батько його тирянин, що вміє робити в золоті та в сріблі, в міді, в залізі, в каміннях та в деревах, у пурпурі й у блакиті, і в віссоні, і в червені, і різати всяку різьбу, і виконувати всяку думку, що буде дана йому з мистцями твоїми та з мистцями пана мого Давида, батька твого.

15 (2-14) А тепер пшеницю й ячмінь, оливу та вино, про які казав мій пан, нехай посилає своїм рабам.

16 (2-15) А ми нарубаємо дерев із Ливану за всякою твоєю потребою, і спровадимо їх тобі плотами морем до Яфи, а ти спровадиш їх до Єрусалиму.

17 (2-16) І перелічив Соломон усіх людей приходьків, що в Ізраїлевому Краї, за переліком, що перелічив був їх його батько Давид, і було знайдено їх сто й п'ятдесят тисяч і три тисячі й шість сотень.

18 (2-17) І він зробив із них сімдесят тисяч носіїв та вісімдесят тисяч каменотесів у горах, та тридцять тисяч і шість сотень керівників, що спонукували той народ до праці.

Preparations for Building the Temple(A)

2 [a]Solomon gave orders to build a temple(B) for the Name of the Lord and a royal palace for himself.(C) 2 He conscripted 70,000 men as carriers and 80,000 as stonecutters in the hills and 3,600 as foremen over them.(D)

3 Solomon sent this message to Hiram[b](E) king of Tyre:

“Send me cedar logs(F) as you did for my father David when you sent him cedar to build a palace to live in. 4 Now I am about to build a temple(G) for the Name of the Lord my God and to dedicate it to him for burning fragrant incense(H) before him, for setting out the consecrated bread(I) regularly, and for making burnt offerings(J) every morning and evening and on the Sabbaths,(K) at the New Moons(L) and at the appointed festivals of the Lord our God. This is a lasting ordinance for Israel.

5 “The temple I am going to build will be great,(M) because our God is greater than all other gods.(N) 6 But who is able to build a temple for him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain him?(O) Who then am I(P) to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him?

7 “Send me, therefore, a man skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, and in purple, crimson and blue yarn, and experienced in the art of engraving, to work in Judah and Jerusalem with my skilled workers,(Q) whom my father David provided.

8 “Send me also cedar, juniper and algum[c] logs from Lebanon, for I know that your servants are skilled in cutting timber there. My servants will work with yours 9 to provide me with plenty of lumber, because the temple I build must be large and magnificent. 10 I will give your servants, the woodsmen who cut the timber, twenty thousand cors[d] of ground wheat, twenty thousand cors[e] of barley, twenty thousand baths[f] of wine and twenty thousand baths of olive oil.(R)”

11 Hiram king of Tyre replied by letter to Solomon:

“Because the Lord loves(S) his people, he has made you their king.”

12 And Hiram added:

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth!(T) He has given King David a wise son, endowed with intelligence and discernment, who will build a temple for the Lord and a palace for himself.

13 “I am sending you Huram-Abi,(U) a man of great skill, 14 whose mother was from Dan(V) and whose father was from Tyre. He is trained(W) to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, stone and wood, and with purple and blue(X) and crimson yarn and fine linen. He is experienced in all kinds of engraving and can execute any design given to him. He will work with your skilled workers and with those of my lord, David your father.

15 “Now let my lord send his servants the wheat and barley and the olive oil(Y) and wine he promised, 16 and we will cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need and will float them as rafts by sea down to Joppa.(Z) You can then take them up to Jerusalem.”

17 Solomon took a census of all the foreigners(AA) residing in Israel, after the census(AB) his father David had taken; and they were found to be 153,600. 18 He assigned(AC) 70,000 of them to be carriers and 80,000 to be stonecutters in the hills, with 3,600 foremen over them to keep the people working.
