5 那时，犹大的众领袖，因为示撒的缘故，就聚集在耶路撒冷；示玛雅先知就来见罗波安和众领袖，对他们说：“耶和华这样说：‘你们既然离弃了我，所以我也离弃你们，把你们交在示撒的手里。’” 6 于是以色列的众领袖和君王，都谦卑下来，说：“耶和华是公义的。”
7 耶和华看见他们谦卑下来，耶和华的话就临到示玛雅，说：“他们既然谦卑下来，我就不灭绝他们；我必使他们暂时得救，我必不借着示撒把我的烈怒倾倒在耶路撒冷。

5 Then (A)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Thus says the Lord: ‘You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have left you in the hand of Shishak.’ ”
6 So the leaders of Israel and the king (B)humbled themselves; and they said, (C)“The Lord is righteous.”
7 Now when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, (D)the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance. My wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
