Descendientes de Judá
4 Los descendientes de Judá en línea directa fueron
Fares, Jezrón, Carmí, Hur y Sobal.
2 Reaías, hijo de Sobal, fue el padre de Yajat y Yajat fue el padre de Ajumay y de Lahad. Estas fueron las familias de los zoratitas.
3 Los hijos[a] de Etam fueron
Jezrel, Ismá e Idbás. La hermana de ellos fue Jazelelponi. 4 También fueron sus hijos Penuel, padre de Guedor, y Ezer, padre de Jusá.
Estos fueron los descendientes de Hur, primogénito de Efrata, padre[b] de Belén.
5 Asur, padre de Tecoa, tuvo dos esposas, Helá y Nara.
6 Nara fue la madre de Ajusán, Héfer, Temeni y Ajastarí. Estos fueron los hijos de Nara.
7 Los hijos de Helá fueron
Zéret, Zojar y Etnán, 8 y Cos fue el padre de Anub, de Zobebá y de las familias de Ajarjel, hijo de Harún.
9 Jabés fue más respetado que sus hermanos. Cuando su madre le puso ese nombre, dijo: «Con aflicción lo he dado a luz».[c] 10 Jabés rogó al Dios de Israel: «Bendíceme y ensancha mi territorio; ayúdame y líbrame del mal, para que no padezca aflicción». Y Dios le concedió su petición.
11 Quelub, hermano de Sujá, fue el padre de Mejir, quien fue el padre de Estón. 12 Estón fue el padre de Bet Rafa, de Paseaj y de Tejiná, padre de Ir Najás.[d] Estos fueron los habitantes de Reca.
13 Los hijos de Quenaz fueron
Otoniel y Seraías.
Los hijos de Otoniel fueron
Jatat 14 y Meonotay, padre de Ofra.
Seraías fue el padre de Joab,
padre de Ge Carisín,[e] porque sus habitantes eran herreros.
15 Los hijos de Caleb, hijo de Jefone, fueron
Iru, Elá y Naán.
El hijo de Elá:
Quenaz.
16 Los hijos de Yalelel:
Zif, Zifá, Tirías y Asarel.
17 Los hijos de Esdras:
Jéter, Méred, Éfer y Jalón.
Una de las esposas de Méred —con la cual tuvo a Miriam, Samay e Isba, padre de Estemoa— 18 era Bitiá, hija del faraón.
La otra esposa de Méred era de la tribu de Judá, y con ella tuvo a Jéred, padre de Guedor, a Héber, padre de Soco, y a Jecutiel, padre de Zanoa.
19 Queilá, el garmita, y Estemoa, el macateo, fueron
hijos de la esposa de Hodías, es decir, de la hermana de Naján.
20 Los hijos de Simón fueron
Amnón, Riná, Ben Janán y Tilón.
Los hijos de Isí fueron
Zojet y Ben Zojet.
21 Los descendientes de Selá, hijo de Judá, fueron
Er, padre de Lecá; Ladá, padre de Maresá y de las familias que trabajan el hilo de lino en Bet Asbea.
22 Otros descendientes de Selá fueron Joaquín, Joás y Saraf, los hombres de Cozebá, quienes (según crónicas muy antiguas) antes de volver a Belén[f] se casaron con mujeres moabitas.[g] 23 Estos eran alfareros que habitaban en Netaín y Guederá, donde se quedaron al servicio del rey.

Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera y Saúl.
25 El hijo de Saúl fue Salún, padre de Mibsán, quien fue padre de Mismá.

Jamuel, Zacur y Simí.
27 Simí tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas; pero sus hermanos tuvieron pocos hijos, por lo cual sus familias no fueron tan numerosas como las de los descendientes de Judá. 28 Se establecieron en Berseba, Moladá, Jazar Súal, 29 Bilhá, Esen, Tolad, 30 Betuel, Jormá, Siclag, 31 Bet Marcabot, Jazar Susín, Bet Biray y Sajarayin. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reinado de David. 32 Sus aldeas fueron Etam, Ayin, Rimón, Toquén y Asán —cinco en total—, 33 más todas las aldeas que estaban alrededor de aquellas ciudades hasta la región de Baal.

36 Elihoenay, Jacoba, Yesojaías,
Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaías,
37 Ziza, hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías.
38 Todos estos eran jefes de sus clanes.
Como sus familias patriarcales llegaron a ser muy numerosas, 39 fueron hasta la entrada de Guedor, al este del valle, en busca de pastos para sus ganados. 40 Allí encontraron pastos buenos y abundantes, además de una tierra extensa, tranquila y pacífica. En ese lugar habían vivido los descendientes de Cam.
41 Los jefes mencionados anteriormente llegaron en los días de Ezequías, rey de Judá. Atacaron los campamentos de los descendientes de Cam y los meunitas que encontraron, y los destruyeron por completo. Y, como en esa región había pastos para sus ganados, se quedaron allí en lugar de ellos, donde habitan hasta el día de hoy. 42 Quinientos de sus soldados, que eran descendientes de Simeón y estaban bajo las órdenes de Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isí, fueron a la montaña de Seír. 43 Después de destruir a los fugitivos del pueblo de Amalec que habían quedado, se establecieron allí, donde habitan hasta el día de hoy.

Perez, Hezron,(B) Karmi, Hur and Shobal.
2 Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 These were the sons[a] of Etam:
Jezreel, Ishma and Idbash. Their sister was named Hazzelelponi. 4 Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah.
These were the descendants of Hur,(C) the firstborn of Ephrathah and father[b] of Bethlehem.(D)
5 Ashhur(E) the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah.
7 The sons of Helah:
Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan, 8 and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and of the clans of Aharhel son of Harum.
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez,[c] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
11 Kelub, Shuhah’s brother, was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 12 Eshton was the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash.[d] These were the men of Rekah.
13 The sons of Kenaz:
Othniel(F) and Seraiah.
The sons of Othniel:
Hathath and Meonothai.[e] 14 Meonothai was the father of Ophrah.
Seraiah was the father of Joab,
the father of Ge Harashim.[f] It was called this because its people were skilled workers.
15 The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh:
Iru, Elah and Naam.
The son of Elah:
Kenaz.
16 The sons of Jehallelel:
Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.
17 The sons of Ezrah:
Jether, Mered, Epher and Jalon. One of Mered’s wives gave birth to Miriam,(G) Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa. 18 (His wife from the tribe of Judah gave birth to Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soko, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.(H)) These were the children of Pharaoh’s daughter Bithiah, whom Mered had married.
19 The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham:
the father of Keilah(I) the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maakathite.(J)
20 The sons of Shimon:
Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan and Tilon.
The descendants of Ishi:
Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 The sons of Shelah(K) son of Judah:
Er the father of Lekah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea, 22 Jokim, the men of Kozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (These records are from ancient times.) 23 They were the potters who lived at Netaim and Gederah; they stayed there and worked for the king.

24 The descendants of Simeon:(M)
Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib,(N) Zerah and Shaul;
25 Shallum was Shaul’s son, Mibsam his son and Mishma his son.
26 The descendants of Mishma:
Hammuel his son, Zakkur his son and Shimei his son.
27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children; so their entire clan did not become as numerous as the people of Judah. 28 They lived in Beersheba,(O) Moladah,(P) Hazar Shual, 29 Bilhah, Ezem,(Q) Tolad, 30 Bethuel, Hormah,(R) Ziklag,(S) 31 Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri and Shaaraim.(T) These were their towns until the reign of David. 32 Their surrounding villages were Etam, Ain,(U) Rimmon, Token and Ashan(V)—five towns— 33 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath.[g] These were their settlements. And they kept a genealogical record.
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah, 35 Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel, 36 also Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah, 37 and Ziza son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.
38 The men listed above by name were leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly, 39 and they went to the outskirts of Gedor(W) to the east of the valley in search of pasture for their flocks. 40 They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet.(X) Some Hamites had lived there formerly.
41 The men whose names were listed came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites(Y) who were there and completely destroyed[h] them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks. 42 And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir.(Z) 43 They killed the remaining Amalekites(AA) who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.

4 Penuel fue el papá de Guedor. Ezer fue el papá de Jusá.
Ellos fueron descendientes de Jur. Jur fue el hijo mayor de Efrata y el fundador de Belén.
5 Asur fue el papá de Tecoa y tenía dos esposas, Helá y Nara. 6 Nara tuvo a Ajusán, Héfer, Temeni y Ajastarí. Esos fueron los hijos de Nara. 7 Los hijos de Helá fueron Zéret, Yezojar, Etnán y Cos. 8 Cos fue el papá de Anub y Zobebá y antepasado de los clanes de Ajarjel, el hijo de Harún.
9 Jabés fue más virtuoso que sus hermanos. Su mamá dijo: «le puse ese nombre porque tuve mucho dolor[a] cuando él nació». 10 Jabés oro así al Dios de Israel: «Te ruego que me bendigas y aumentes mi territorio. Quédate junto a mí y líbrame del mal para que yo no pase sufrimiento». Dios le concedió lo que pidió.
11 Quelub, hermano de Sujá, fue el papá de Mejir, y Mejir fue el papá de Estón. 12 Estón fue el papá de Bet Rafá, Paseaj y Tejiná. Tejiná fue el papá de Ir Najás. Esos fueron los hombres de Reca.
13 Los hijos de Quenaz fueron Otoniel y Seraías. Los hijos de Otoniel fueron Jatat y Meonotay. 14 Meonotay fue el papá de Ofra.
Seraías fue el papá de Joab. Joab fue el fundador de Ge Carisín[b], porque sus habitantes se dedicaban al trabajo manual y artesanal.
15 Los hijos de Caleb hijo de Jefone fueron Ir, Elá y Noán. El hijo de Elá fue Quenaz.
16 Los hijos de Yalelel fueron Zif, Zifá, Tirías y Asarel.
17-18 Los hijos de Esdras fueron Jéter, Méred, Éfer y Jalón. Méred se casó con Bitiá, hija del faraón, y tuvo con ella a Miriam, Samay e Isba, papá de Estemoa. Méred tuvo otra esposa que era de Judá y tuvo con ella a Jéred, papá de Guedor, a Héber, papá de Soco, y a Jecutiel, papá de Zanoa.
19 Los hijos de Hodías, quien se casó con la hermana de Naján, fueron: Queilá, el garmita, y Estemoa el macateo.
20 Los hijos de Simón fueron Amnón, Riná, Ben Janán y Tilón.
Los hijos de Isí fueron Zojet y Ben Zojet.
21 Los descendientes de Selá hijo de Judá fueron: Er, el papá de Lecá, y Ladá, el papá de Maresá y de las familias que trabajaban el lino en Bet Asbea, 22 Joaquín y los habitantes de Cozebá, Joás y Saraf, quienes, según crónicas antiguas, fueron y se casaron con mujeres moabitas y luego regresaron a Belén. 23 Ellos eran alfareros y vivían en las regiones de Netaín y Guederá, donde trabajaban para el rey.
Descendientes de Simeón
24 Los hijos de Simeón fueron Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera y Saúl.
25 El hijo de Saúl fue Salún; el hijo de Salún fue Mibsán; el hijo de Mibsán fue Mismá;
26 el hijo de Mismá fue Jamuel; el hijo de Jamuel fue Zacur; el hijo de Zacur fue Simí. 27 Los hermanos de Simí no tuvieron muchos hijos, pero él tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas. Sus clanes no fueron tan numerosos como los de Judá. 28 Habitaron en Berseba, Moladá, Jazar Súal, 29 Bilhá, Esen, Tolad, 30 Betuel, Jormá, Siclag, 31 Bet Marcabot, Jazar Susín, Bet Biray y Sajarayin. Esos fueron sus territorios hasta el reinado de David. 32 Ellos tenían otros cinco pueblos: Etam, Ayin, Rimón, Toquén y Asán. 33 Los campos que rodeaban esas ciudades se extendían hasta Baal. Ellos vivían en esos lugares y estos son sus registros familiares.
34 Mesobab, Jamlec y Josías hijo de Amasías, 35 Joel, Jehú hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel, 36 Elihoenay, Jacoba, Yesojaías, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaías, 37 Ziza hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías. 38 Todos los mencionados anteriormente fueron jefes de sus clanes.
Como sus familias crecieron mucho y llegaron a ser muy numerosas, 39 fueron hasta la entrada de Guedor, al oriente del valle, buscando un buen lugar para sus rebaños. 40 Encontraron buenos pastos, tierras fértiles y lugares calmados y tranquilos. Allí habían vivido los descendientes de Cam, 41 pero durante el gobierno del rey Ezequías de Judá vinieron los que se mencionaron anteriormente y atacaron las carpas y viviendas de los descendientes de Cam. Se quedaron a vivir allí en lugar de ellos porque encontraron buen pasto para sus rebaños. 42 Quinientos de ellos, descendientes de Simeón, fueron hasta el monte Seír bajo el mando de Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isí. 43 Ellos acabaron con los amalecitas que quedaban y viven ahí hasta el día de hoy.
