³在以利亞撒的子孫撒督和以他瑪的子孫亞希米勒的協助下，大衛將亞倫的子孫分成班次，讓他們各司其職。 ⁴以利亞撒的子孫中做首領的比以他瑪的子孫中做首領的多，他們被分成班次，以利亞撒的子孫中有十六個族長，以他瑪的子孫中有八個族長。 ⁵因為以利亞撒的子孫中和以他瑪的子孫中都有人在聖所做首領事奉上帝，他們便用抽籤的方法公平地分班，分別在以利亞撒和以他瑪家族中抽籤。

³With the help of Zadok^(A) a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelek a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering. ⁴A larger number of leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than among Ithamar’s, and they were divided accordingly: sixteen heads of families from Eleazar’s descendants and eight heads of families from Ithamar’s descendants. ⁵They divided them impartially by casting lots,^(B) for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.

³With the help of ^(A)Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service. ⁴Since more chief men were found among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar, they organized them under sixteen heads of fathers' houses of the sons of Eleazar, and eight of the sons of Ithamar. ⁵They divided them ^(B)by lot, all alike, for there were sacred officers and officers of God among both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.
