다윗의 성전 건축 준비
22 그때 다윗은 이렇게 말하였다. “바로 이 곳이 내가 여호와의 성전을 짓 고 이스라엘의 번제단을 쌓을 곳이구나!”
2 다윗은 이스라엘 땅에 사는 모든 이방 민족을 모아 하나님의 성전을 건축할 돌을 다듬게 하였으며
3 그는 또 문짝에 쓸 못과 꺾쇠를 만들 철과 많은 놋을 준비하였다.
4 그리고 다윗은 두로와 시돈 사람들과 교섭하여 백향목도 수없이 실어 왔다.
5 그러고서 다윗은 이렇게 생각하였다. “내 아들 솔로몬이 지을 성전은 우아하고 장엄하며 세계적으로 유명한 건축물이 되어야 하겠는데 그가 아직 어리고 경험이 없으니 그 기초 작업은 내가 해야겠다.” 그래서 다윗은 죽기 전에 수많은 건축 자재를 준비해 놓았다.
6 그 후에 그는 자기 아들 솔로몬을 불러 놓고 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 위해 성전 건축을 부탁하며
7 이렇게 말하였다. “내 아들아, 내 하나님 여호와를 위하여 내가 직접 성전을 건축하려고 하였으나
8 여호와께서는 나에게 이런 말씀을 하셨다. ‘너는 너무 많은 사람을 죽이고 큰 전쟁을 많이 치렀다. 네가 내 앞에서 땅에 피를 많이 흘렸으므로 너는 내 성전을 건축하지 못할 것이다.
9 그러나 너에게 한 아들이 태어날 것이니 그는 평화의 사람이 될 것이다. 이것은 내가 그 주변의 모든 대적들에게서 그를 지켜 그에게 평화를 줄 것이기 때문이다. 그래서 그의 이름은 평화를 뜻하는 솔로몬이 될 것이며 나는 그가 통치하는 동안 이스라엘에게 평화와 안정을 줄 것이다.
10 그가 내 성전을 건축할 것이며 그는 내 아들이 되고 나는 그의 아버지가 되어 그의 자손들이 이스라엘을 대대로 다스리게 하겠다.’
11 “내 아들아, 이제 여호와께서 약속하신 대로 너와 함께하셔서 네가 여호와의 성전을 성공적으로 건축할 수 있기를 바란다.
12 또 여호와께서 너에게 지혜와 총명을 주셔서 네가 그분의 모든 법에 따라 이스라엘을 잘 다스릴 수 있기를 바란다.
13 네가 만일 모세를 통해서 주신 여호와의 모든 법과 명령을 조심스럽게 지키면 모든 일에 성공할 것이다. 너는 마음을 굳게 먹고 용기를 가지고 아무것도 두려워하지 말아라.
14 내가 온갖 노력을 다하여 여호와의 성전을 위해 [a]금 3,400톤과 은 34,000톤을 모아 두었으며 이 밖에도 측량할 수 없을 정도의 많은 철과 놋을 준비해 두었고 또 목재와 돌도 이미 마련해 놓았다. 그러나 너는 더 많은 것을 확보해 두어야 할 것이다.
15-16 또 너에게는 석수와 목수와 그리고 금과 은과 놋과 철을 전문적으로 취급하는 수많은 기능 공들도 있다. 그러므로 이제 너는 일에 착수하여라. 여호와께서 너와 함께하실 것이다.”
17 그런 다음 다윗은 이스라엘의 모든 지도자들에게 솔로몬을 도우라고 명령하며
18 이렇게 말하였다. “여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분과 함께하십니다. 그가 여러분의 모든 주변에 평화를 주시지 않았습니까? 여호와께서 내가 주변 나라들을 정복할 수 있도록 하셨으므로 그들이 여호와와 여러분에게 복종하였습니다.
19 이제 여러분은 마음과 정성을 다하여 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 찾고 그의 성소를 건축하여 여호와의 법궤와 그 밖의 모든 거룩한 기구들을 그 안에 들여놓도록 하십시오.”

大衛籌備建殿
2 大衛下令召集住在以色列的外族人，派他們採鑿建上帝殿用的石頭。 3 大衛預備了大量的鐵，用來做門扇的釘子和鉤子，又預備了不計其數的銅。 4 他還預備了無數的香柏木，都是西頓人和泰爾人給他運來的。
5 大衛說：「為耶和華建造的殿宇必須宏偉輝煌，聞名於世，而我的兒子所羅門年紀還輕、閱歷尚淺，所以我要為這殿預備材料。」因此，大衛在去世前為建殿預備了許多材料。
6 大衛召來兒子所羅門，囑咐他要為以色列的上帝耶和華建造殿宇。 7 他對所羅門說：「兒啊，我本想為我的上帝耶和華的名建造一座殿宇。 8 但耶和華對我說，『你殺了許多人，打了很多仗，在我眼前使許多人血灑大地，因此你不可為我的名建造殿宇。 9 你將生一個兒子，我必使他安享太平，不受四圍的仇敵侵擾。他的名字要叫所羅門，他執政期間，我必使以色列太平安寧。 10 他將為我的名建造殿宇，他要做我的兒子，我要做他的父親，我要使他的王朝在以色列永遠長存。』
11 「兒啊，願耶和華與你同在，使你亨通，照你的上帝耶和華的吩咐去建造祂的殿。 12 願耶和華賜你聰明和智慧，以便你照祂的律法治理以色列。 13 你若謹遵耶和華藉摩西吩咐以色列的律例和典章，就必亨通。你要剛強勇敢，不可驚慌害怕。 14 看啊，我歷盡艱辛，為耶和華的殿預備了三千四百五十噸金子、三萬四千五百噸銀子和不計其數的銅和鐵。我還預備了木料和石頭。你還要多加預備。 15 你有許多工匠，如鑿石匠、砌石匠、木匠等各種能工巧匠， 16 還有不計其數的金匠、銀匠、銅匠和鐵匠。現在動工吧，願耶和華與你同在。」
17 大衛又吩咐以色列的眾首領幫助他兒子所羅門， 18 他說：「你們的上帝耶和華與你們同在，使你們四境平安。祂將這地方的居民交在我手中，使這地方被祂和祂的子民治理。 19 現在，你們要全心全意地尋求你們的上帝耶和華，去建造耶和華上帝的聖所，好將祂的約櫃和聖潔器皿都放在裡面。」

22 Then David said, “The house of the Lord God(A) is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
Preparations for the Temple
2 So David gave orders to assemble the foreigners(B) residing in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters(C) to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God. 3 He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed.(D) 4 He also provided more cedar logs(E) than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David.
5 David said, “My son Solomon is young(F) and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor(G) in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.
6 Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build(H) a house for the Lord, the God of Israel. 7 David said to Solomon: “My son, I had it in my heart(I) to build(J) a house for the Name(K) of the Lord my God. 8 But this word of the Lord came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and have fought many wars.(L) You are not to build a house for my Name,(M) because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. 9 But you will have a son who will be a man of peace(N) and rest,(O) and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon,[a](P) and I will grant Israel peace and quiet(Q) during his reign. 10 He is the one who will build a house for my Name.(R) He will be my son,(S) and I will be his father. And I will establish(T) the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’(U)
11 “Now, my son, the Lord be with(V) you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would. 12 May the Lord give you discretion and understanding(W) when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God. 13 Then you will have success(X) if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws(Y) that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous.(Z) Do not be afraid or discouraged.
14 “I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents[b] of gold, a million talents[c] of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.(AA) 15 You have many workers: stonecutters, masons and carpenters,(AB) as well as those skilled in every kind of work 16 in gold and silver, bronze and iron—craftsmen(AC) beyond number. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.”
17 Then David ordered(AD) all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon. 18 He said to them, “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not granted you rest(AE) on every side?(AF) For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hands, and the land is subject to the Lord and to his people. 19 Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God.(AG) Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the Lord.”
