約押攻取拉巴(A)
20 過了年，在列王出征的時候，約押帶領軍兵，毀壞了亞捫人的地方，然後去圍困拉巴。那時大衛住在耶路撒冷。約押攻打拉巴，把城摧毀。 2 大衛從米勒公神像的頭上取下金冠，發現金子重三十公斤，又有一塊寶石嵌在上面；有人把這冠冕戴在大衛的頭上；大衛從城裡奪走了大批戰利品。 3 又把城裡的眾民拉出來，要他們用鋸子、鐵鏟和斧子作工；大衛待亞捫各城的人都是這樣。後來大衛和眾民都回耶路撒冷去了。

4 這事以後，以色列人在基色與非利士人交戰；那時戶沙人西比該擊殺了巨人的一個兒子細派，非利士人就被制伏了。 5 後來，以色列人與非利士人再次交戰，睚珥的兒子伊勒哈難，擊殺了迦特人歌利亞的兄弟拉哈米；這人的槍桿好像織布機軸一樣。 6 後來，在迦特又有戰事；那裡有一個身材高大的人，手腳各有六指，共有二十四根指頭；他也是巨人的兒子。 7 這人侮辱以色列人，大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子約拿單就把他擊殺了。 8 這些人是迦特巨人的兒子，都死在大衛和他僕人的手下。

ଯୋୟାବ ଅମ୍ମୋନୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କଲେ
20 ବସନ୍ତକାଳରେ, ଯୋୟାବ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସୈନ୍ୟବାହିନୀକୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ କଢ଼ାଇ ନେଲେ। ବର୍ଷର ସେହି ସମୟରେ ରାଜାମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାହାରି ଆସୁଥିଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଦାଉଦ ଯିରୁଶାଲମରେ ରହିଲେ। ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସୈନ୍ୟବାହିନୀ ଅମ୍ମୋନ ଦେଶକୁ ଗଲେ ଓ ତାକୁ ବିନାଶ କଲେ। ସେମାନେ ରବ୍ବା ନଗରୀକୁ ଗଲେ ଓ ତା'ର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ। ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବାହାରକୁ କିଅବା ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟକୁ କାହାରିକୁ ଯିବାକୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଯୋୟାବ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସୈନ୍ୟଗଣ ରବ୍ବା ନଗରୀକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବରେ ଧ୍ୱଂସ କଲେ।
2 ଦାଉଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାର ମସ୍ତକରୁ ମୁକୁଟ କାଢ଼ି ନେଲେ। ସେହି ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ମୁକୁଟର ଓଜନ ଥିଲା ଏକ ତାଳନ୍ତ। ସେହି ମୁକୁଟରେ ଅତି ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ପଥରସବୁ ଲାଗିଥିଲା। ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକରେ ସେହି ମୁକୁଟ ପିନ୍ଧାଗଲା। ଏହା ପରେ ଦାଉଦ ରବ୍ବା ନଗରୀରୁ ମିଳିଥିବା ଅନେକ ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ବସ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେଲେ। 3 ଦାଉଦ ରବ୍ବାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କରତ, ଶାବଳ ଓ କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି ଦ୍ୱାରା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ବାଧ୍ୟ କଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ଅମ୍ମୋନୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ନଗରଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର କଲେ। ଏହା ପରେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟବାହିନୀ ଯିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ।
ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନେ ନିହତ ହେଲେ
4 ଏହା ପରେ ଗେଷର୍ ସହରରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲୀୟମାନେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ। ସେହି ସମୟରେ ହୂଶାତୀୟ ସିବ୍ବଖୟ ସିପ୍ପୟକୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ଏହି ସିପ୍ପୟ ଦୈତ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ଥିଲା। ତେଣୁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କର କ୍ରୀତଦାସ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ହୋଇଗଲେ।
5 ଆଉ ଏକ ସମୟରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଲୋକମାନେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆଉଥରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ। ଯାୟୀରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲହାନନ୍ ଲହମି କି ବଧ କଲେ। ଲହମି ଗଲିୟାତର ଭ୍ରାତା ଥିଲେ। ଗଲିୟାତ ଗାଥ୍ ସହରବାସୀ ଥିଲେ। ଲହମିଙ୍କ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ବହୁତ ବଡ଼ ଓ ଭାରୀ ଥିଲା। ତାହା ଗୋଟିଏ ଲୁଗାତନ୍ତ ଉପରେ ଲାଗିଥିବା ବିରାଟ ଖମ୍ବ ସଦୃଶ ଥିଲା।
6 ଗାଥ୍ ସହରରେ ପୁଣି ଏକ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଲା। ସେଠାରେ ଜଣେ ବିରାଟକାୟ ଲୋକ ଥିଲା, ଯାହାର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ହାତରେ ଛଅଟି ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳି ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ପାଦରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଛଅଟି ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳି ଥିଲା। ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜଣେ ଦୈତ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲା। 7 ସେହି ଲୋକ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ବିଦ୍ରୂପ କରିବାରୁ ଯୋନାଥନ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ଯୋନାଥନ ଶିମିୟିଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ଶିମିୟି ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତା ଥିଲେ।
8 ସେହି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗାଥ୍ ସହରବାସୀ ଦୈତ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନେ ସେହି ଦୈତ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।

The Capture of Rabbah(A)
20 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, Joab led out the armed forces. He laid waste the land of the Ammonites and went to Rabbah(B) and besieged it, but David remained in Jerusalem. Joab attacked Rabbah and left it in ruins.(C) 2 David took the crown from the head of their king[a]—its weight was found to be a talent[b] of gold, and it was set with precious stones—and it was placed on David’s head. He took a great quantity of plunder from the city 3 and brought out the people who were there, consigning them to labor with saws and with iron picks and axes.(D) David did this to all the Ammonite towns. Then David and his entire army returned to Jerusalem.
War With the Philistines(E)
4 In the course of time, war broke out with the Philistines, at Gezer.(F) At that time Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the Rephaites,(G) and the Philistines were subjugated.
5 In another battle with the Philistines, Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod.(H)
6 In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He also was descended from Rapha. 7 When he taunted Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him.
8 These were descendants of Rapha in Gath, and they fell at the hands of David and his men.

20 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also was the son of the giant.
7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
