13 大卫跟千夫长、百夫长等所有的首领商议， 2 然后对以色列全体会众说：“如果你们赞成，而且这是我们上帝耶和华的旨意，我们就派人到以色列各地把其他同胞，包括住在城邑及草场的祭司和利未人召集来。 3 我们要将我们上帝的约柜运到这里来，因为在扫罗执政期间，我们忽视了它。” 4 会众都表示赞同，认为这样做很好。
5 于是，大卫召集了从埃及的西曷河一直到哈马口的全体以色列人，要将上帝的约柜从基列·耶琳运来。 6 大卫率领以色列众人到巴拉，即犹大的基列·耶琳，要将上帝的约柜运回来。这约柜以坐在基路伯天使上面的耶和华的名字命名。 7 他们把上帝的约柜从亚比拿达家抬出来，放在一辆新车上，由乌撒和亚希约赶车。 8 大卫和以色列众人就在上帝面前用琴、瑟、鼓、钹和号奏乐，尽情歌舞。 9 他们来到基顿麦场的时候，拉车的牛失蹄，乌撒就伸手去扶约柜。 10 因他伸手碰了约柜，上帝便向他发怒，击杀了他，他就死在上帝面前。 11 大卫因耶和华击杀乌撒而烦恼，就称那地方为毗列斯·乌撒[a]，沿用至今。 12 那天，大卫惧怕上帝，他说：“我怎能将上帝的约柜运到我这里？” 13 因此，大卫没有将约柜运到大卫城，而是把它运到迦特人俄别·以东家。 14 上帝的约柜在俄别·以东家存放了三个月。耶和华使俄别·以东家及其拥有的一切都蒙福。

13 Entonces David consultó con los capitanes de millares y de centenas, es decir, con todos los jefes. 2 Y David dijo a toda la asamblea de Israel: Si os parece bien, y si es del Señor nuestro Dios, enviemos mensaje a todas partes, a nuestros parientes[a] que permanecen en toda la tierra de Israel, y también a los sacerdotes y a los levitas que están con ellos en sus ciudades y tierras de pastos, para que se reúnan con nosotros; 3 y traigamos a nuestro lado el arca de nuestro Dios, porque no la consultamos[b] en los días de Saúl(A). 4 Toda la asamblea dijo que así lo harían, porque esto pareció bien a todo el pueblo. 5 (B)Entonces David congregó a todo Israel(C), desde Sihor de Egipto hasta la entrada de Hamat, para traer el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim(D). 6 Y subió David con todo Israel(E) a Baala, es decir, a Quiriat-jearim(F), que pertenece a Judá, para hacer subir desde allí el arca de Dios el Señor, que está[c] sobre los querubines, donde se invoca su nombre(G). 7 Y llevaron[d] el arca de Dios de la casa de Abinadab(H) en un carro nuevo, y Uza y Ahío guiaban el carro. 8 David y todo Israel se regocijaban delante de Dios con todas sus fuerzas, con cánticos y liras, con arpas, panderos, con címbalos y trompetas(I).
9 Pero cuando llegaron a la era de Quidón, Uza extendió su mano para sostener el arca, porque los bueyes casi la volcaron(J). 10 Y se encendió la ira del Señor contra Uza, y lo hirió porque había extendido su mano al arca(K); y allí murió delante de Dios(L). 11 Entonces David se enojó porque el Señor había estallado en ira[e] contra Uza; y llamó aquel lugar Pérez-uza[f] hasta el día de hoy. 12 David tuvo temor a Dios aquel día, y dijo: ¿Cómo puedo traer a mí el arca de Dios? 13 Así que David no llevó consigo el arca a la ciudad de David, sino que la hizo llevar[g] a la casa de Obed-edom(M) geteo. 14 Así que el arca de Dios estuvo con la familia de Obed-edom, en su casa, tres meses; y bendijo el Señor a la familia de Obed-edom(N) y todo lo que tenía.

The Ark Brought from Kirjath Jearim(A)
13 Then David consulted with the (B)captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. 2 And David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of the Lord our God, let us send out to our brethren everywhere who are (C)left in all the land of Israel, and with them to the priests and Levites who are in their cities and their common-lands, that they may gather together to us; 3 and let us bring the ark of our God back to us, (D)for we have not inquired at it since the days of Saul.” 4 Then all the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 So (E)David gathered all Israel together, from (F)Shihor in Egypt to as far as the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God (G)from Kirjath Jearim. 6 And David and all Israel went up to (H)Baalah,[a] to Kirjath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God the Lord, (I)who dwells between the cherubim, where His name is proclaimed. 7 So they [b]carried the ark of God (J)on a new cart (K)from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart. 8 Then (L)David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with [c]singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 And when they came to [d]Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen [e]stumbled. 10 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him (M)because he put his hand to the ark; and he (N)died there before God. 11 And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzza; therefore that place is called [f]Perez Uzza to this day. 12 David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring the ark of God to me?”
13 So David would not move the ark with him into the City of David, but took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 14 (O)The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed (P)the house of Obed-Edom and all that he had.
