大衛受膏作猶大王(A)

11 那時，以色列眾人聚集到希伯崙去見大衛，說：“看哪，我們原是你的骨肉。 2 從前掃羅作王的時候，是你率領以色列人出入征戰；耶和華你的　神曾對你說過：‘你要牧養我的人民以色列，你要作我的人民以色列的領袖。’” 3 於是以色列的眾長老都來到希伯崙見大衛王，大衛就在希伯崙，在耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就按照耶和華藉著撒母耳所說的話，膏立大衛作王治理以色列。

大衛攻取耶路撒冷(B)

4 大衛和以色列眾人來到耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷就是耶布斯。那時，當地的居民耶布斯人住在那裡。 5 耶布斯的居民對大衛說：“你不能進這裡來。”可是大衛佔領了錫安的堡壘，錫安就是大衛城。 6 大衛說：“誰首先攻打耶布斯人，誰就必作首領和元帥。”洗魯雅的兒子約押首先上去，就作了首領。 7 大衛住在堡壘中，因此人把那堡壘稱為大衛城。 8 大衛又重建四周的城牆，從米羅起，以至城的周圍；那城其餘的部分由約押修建。 9 大衛日漸強盛，因為萬軍之耶和華與他同在。

20 約押的兄弟亞比篩，是三個勇士的首領；他揮舞矛槍刺死了三百人，因此在三個勇士中贏得了名聲。 21 他在這三個勇士中，是最尊貴的，所以作他們的首領；只是還不及前三個勇士。

22 耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，是甲薛族的勇士，曾有偉大的作為；他擊殺了摩押人亞利伊勒的兩個兒子，又在下雪的日子，下到坑中去擊殺了一隻獅子。 23 他又殺死了一個身高兩百多公分的埃及人。這埃及人手裡拿著矛槍，好像織布機軸，比拿雅只拿著棍子下去會他，竟從那埃及人手中把矛槍奪了過來，再用他的矛槍把他殺死。 24 這是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅所行的事，因此在三個勇士中贏得名聲。 25 他比那三十個勇士更有聲望，只是還不及前三個勇士。大衛立他作侍衛長。

11 (A)Entonces se congregó todo Israel en torno a David en Hebrón, y dijeron[a]: He aquí, hueso tuyo y carne tuya somos. 2 Ya de antes, cuando Saúl aún era rey, eras tú el que sacabas y el que volvías a traer a Israel. Y el Señor tu Dios te dijo: «Tú pastorearás a mi pueblo Israel, y serás príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel(B)». 3 Vinieron, pues, todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y David hizo un pacto con ellos en Hebrón delante del Señor; luego ungieron a David como rey sobre Israel(C), conforme a la palabra del Señor por medio[b] de Samuel(D).

4 (E)Entonces fue David con todo Israel a Jerusalén, es decir, Jebús(F), y estaban allí los jebuseos, habitantes de la tierra. 5 Y los habitantes de Jebús dijeron a David: No entrarás aquí. Pero David capturó la fortaleza de Sión, es decir, la ciudad de David. 6 Y David había dicho: El que primero hiera a un jebuseo será jefe y comandante. 10 Estos son los jefes de los valientes que tenía David(I), quienes le dieron fuerte apoyo en su reino, junto con todo Israel, para hacerlo rey, conforme a la palabra del Señor(J) concerniente a Israel. 11 (K)Y estos constituyen la lista de los valientes que tenía David: Jasobeam(L), hijo de Hacmoni, jefe de los treinta(M); él blandió su lanza contra trescientos a los cuales mató[f] de una sola vez. 12 Y después de él, Eleazar, hijo de Dodo(N) ahohíta; él era uno de[g] los tres valientes. 13 (O)Él estaba con David en Pasdamim[h] cuando los filisteos se reunieron allí para la batalla; y había una parcela llena de cebada, y el pueblo huyó delante de los filisteos, 14 y se apostaron en medio de la parcela, y la defendieron e hirieron a los filisteos; y el Señor los salvó con una gran victoria[i].

Porque con riesgo de sus vidas[l] la trajeron. Por eso no quiso beberla. Estas cosas hicieron los tres valientes.

20 Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, era el primero de los treinta[m], y blandió su lanza contra trescientos y los mató[n]; y él tuvo tanto renombre como los tres. 21 De los treinta en el segundo grupo, él fue el más distinguido y llegó a ser capitán de ellos; pero no igualó a los tres primeros.

22 Benaía, hijo de Joiada(R), hijo de un valiente de Cabseel, de grandes hazañas, mató[o] a los dos hijos de Ariel[p] de Moab. Y él descendió y mató[q] a un león en medio de un foso un día que estaba nevando. 23 También mató[r] a un egipcio, un hombre grande de cinco codos[s] de estatura; y en la mano del egipcio había una lanza como un rodillo de tejedor(S), pero Benaía descendió a él con un palo, y arrebatando la lanza de la mano del egipcio, lo mató con su propia lanza. 24 Estas cosas hizo Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y tuvo tanto renombre como los tres valientes. 25 He aquí, fue el más distinguido entre los treinta, pero no igualó a los tres; y David lo puso sobre su guardia.

David Made King over All Israel(A)

11 Then (B)all Israel came together to David at Hebron, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh. 2 Also, in time past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord your (C)God said to you, ‘You shall (D)shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over My people Israel.’ ” 3 Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And (E)they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord [a]by (F)Samuel.

The City of David(G)

4 And David and all Israel (H)went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus, (I)where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land. 5 But the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You shall not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David). 6 Now David said, “Whoever attacks the Jebusites first shall be [b]chief and captain.” And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and became chief. 7 Then David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it [c]the City of David. 8 And he built the city around it, from [d]the Millo to the surrounding area. Joab [e]repaired the rest of the city. 9 So David (J)went on and became great, and the Lord of hosts was with (K)him.

The Mighty Men of David(L)

10 Now (M)these were the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to (N)the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: (O)Jashobeam the son of a Hachmonite, (P)chief of [f]the captains; he had lifted up his spear against three hundred, killed by him at one time.

12 After him was Eleazar the son of (Q)Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men. 13 He was with David at [g]Pasdammim. Now there the Philistines were gathered for battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley. So the people fled from the Philistines. 14 But they [h]stationed themselves in the middle of that field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.

15 Now three of the thirty chief men (R)went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines encamped (S)in the Valley of [i]Rephaim. 16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem. 17 And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” 18 So the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless David would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord. 19 And he said, “Far be it from me, O my God, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? For at the risk of their lives they brought it.” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.

20 (T)Abishai the brother of Joab was chief of another [j]three. He had lifted up his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name among these three. 21 (U)Of the three he was more honored than the other two men. Therefore he became their captain. However he did not attain to the first three.

22 Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who [k]had done many deeds. (V)He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day. 23 And he killed an Egyptian, a man of great height, [l]five cubits tall. In the Egyptian’s hand there was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, wrested the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear. 24 These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did, and won a name among three mighty men. 25 Indeed he was more honored than the thirty, but he did not attain to the first three. And David appointed him over his guard.

26 Also the mighty warriors were (W)Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem, 27 [m]Shammoth the Harorite, (X)Helez the [n]Pelonite, 28 (Y)Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, (Z)Abiezer the Anathothite, 29 [o]Sibbechai the Hushathite, [p]Ilai the Ahohite, 30 (AA)Maharai the Netophathite, [q]Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite, 31 [r]Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin, (AB)Benaiah the Pirathonite, 32 [s]Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, [t]Abiel the Arbathite, 33 Azmaveth the [u]Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite, 34 the sons of [v]Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shageh the Hararite, 35 Ahiam the son of [w]Sacar the Hararite, [x]Eliphal the son of [y]Ur, 36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite, 37 [z]Hezro the Carmelite, [aa]Naarai the son of Ezbai, 38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri, 39 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the [ab]Berothite (the armorbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah), 40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite, 41 (AC)Uriah the Hittite, [ac]Zabad the son of Ahlai, 42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite (a chief of the Reubenites) and thirty with him, 43 Hanan the son of Maachah, Joshaphat the Mithnite, 44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite, 45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite, 46 Eliel the Mahavite, Jeribai and Joshaviah the sons of Elnaam, Ithmah the Moabite, 47 Eliel, Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
